View Full Version : 25 posts and 2 weeks.

Ok, so basically many people have been complaining about so-called raids and just generally complaining.
So here goes;
Should this be implemented, "To make a thread, you must have 25 posts and have been a member of the forums for 2 weeks."
And also the 25 posts must be outside of spame.
It would be an actual programme thing, where if a person didn't meet the requirements then they couldn't make a thread.
So if they have 12 posts, but have been a member for 6 weeks, they still need another 13 posts before they can make a thread. Hopefully this will stop morons attempting to raid, and just noobs being noobs.
That's how it used to be i think. Except the number of posts had to be higher, like 50 or something. I think it's a good idea. No more "Hey I'm new" threads.

I agree with this completely. The punishment for breaking the rule should be harsh as well (at least 3 points). I think it would work.

There is no punishment, the forums won't let you create a thread. I'm all for this idea. It won't stop raids, since they can post goatse in any thread, but it forces two weeks of getting to know our picky rules regarding grammar.

Back in my day this was there. I'm all for it. I agree with jewishjosh's mentality, we don't need people getting infractions for this, it just needs to be not allowed.
This idea works best because after two weeks of posting and hopefully becoming a better member, the person should know what a reasonable thread is.

I say go back to how it was, I think it was more than 25 posts?
Perhaps ask kwanza to revert to the old method.

I Should be 25 posts + 2 weeks it would nearly empty the thread Dump
Also, I think before 2 weeks and 25 posts.. they shouldn't be able to post in Spame.
You don't want a bunch of new people learning the ropes from... well.. Spame. :ahe:

I think that 1 week is enough. I don't know what more it would do than just piss people off.

You prejudice motherfuckers.

Please explain I_smell, is this rebellion against the majority, or do you actually have a valid reason?
And good point Shagg. Maybe if the admins decide to make this rule, we could inquire about that too.
I removed the restriction in hopes that not EVERYONE who joins the forums is a spamming idiot. You guys want it back though, so I've reimplemented it.

So now, if we see someone that posts threads their first day, we report them? Sounds good.
Benjaman.. the system won't allow them make a thread. It's not like "Don't make one or else!", it's like the "Make Thread" button is gone or won't work until you meet the requirements.

No, they can't. :ahe: It's a limitation in the forum itself.

I think it is impossible to do so now Benjaman, it will throw up an error saying something along the lines of, "You must 25 posts to make new threads."
Something like that.

I thought it was an honor system thing, not a "YOU CAN'T MAKE A THREAD LOL" system. My mistake.

Who cares? Raids are funny.

They weren't raids. It was one person at a time coming in and being a dumbass. A raid is if all of those people came on one day and made 1000 threads each, and each of those thousand threads had goatse pictures inside them.

It's a raid if we were flooded. Nothing happened at all.

:Hail: Thank you Rob. :hail:
And thread closed, it has served it's purpose.
