Why doesn't Media Outhouse have a moderator anymore? Because it's gonna be hell on earth soon.
I don't think it will get that bad, not as many people see it as they see the GF. It does need a mod though.

I was just looking at some thread and saw that Metal Angel wasn't mod anymore. So I looked at media and was like what the hell.
Edit- In before people start offering themselves as mods. Seriously, don't do it. It won't get you anywhere. I'm just asking.
You mean Allen isn't mod anymore.

Personally I think NVM should be media mod. He posts there somewhat frequently and has been around enough to know rules and stuff. And he's not a douche or anything. You know just saying.
It's not that big of a deal. I would go weeks without coming here and it never got that bad. Usually Rob or another admin will swing by and keep it clean.
Even though a mod is necessary; the Media doesn't really attract nearly as much crappy threads as say, General Forum.
And when we decide to Mod someone.. NVM is a pretty good choice.

You should have known that would happen. I would say it needs a mod, but it's not too imperative compared to other forums. Usually the shittery in the media forum is kept to a minimum.

I reported it a while ago, and various super mods and admins have been on to see it, so I assume it's a fair game thing. Or at least, it was, I feel like it's degenerated even more from what it began as now.

It is a pretty bad thread to begin with and it takes a lot to make it worse, but I have to agree that it is worse.
As for another mod, we should be good for a while. The supermods and admins can take care of the forum for now. It just means that we need to report any bad posts we see. If the forum gets horrible, a new mod can be appointed.
Supermods can handle it until I split up the media forum. I don't see the point in a temporary mod. I could pick a mod now and move them over to one of the new media forums, but that doesn't mesh well with my plan for picking mods for the new forums.
In a nutshell, I'm gonna ditch the "post a paragraph" bullshit because that just attracts power hungry morons who joined three days ago and who don't really want the mod job for what it is.
Instead I'm just gonna let the new forums run modless for a week or so and pick the person I think is contributing sensibly and taking the forum in a good direction.

When is that going to happen, anyway? And related to that, what different forums is it going to be? I missed the final word in the old discussion for it.
It'll happen when I finish my final projects for school, and it'll be split into movies, games, music.

Well if they post boost with irrelevant shit, they'll get infracted, and if not, they'll be contributing, so either way it's not a bad thing.

Guess we'll just have to see what comes. I'll probably start posting there more, because then those console games threads won't be everywhere:argh: .

Why not temporarily extend the powers of an existing mod to include the Media Forum? I'd do it. I wouldn't bother looking for bad posts on my own, but I could at least check for and act on reports.
I only suggest it because of the spame posts made by loldongs (a.k.a. Kenneh?) in that forum. It's not that big a deal, but they've been up for three hours already.

The book forum would get little to no posts. If anything books and tv should be a combined forum because they get the smallest amount of posts/threads.

My first thought. Mods looking over the forum should be extra strict with potential mods.
The forums that sound good to me are:
Video Games
Movies
Music
Miscellaneous(Television, Books, etc)
TV and books defiantly do not get as much discussion as the other three.
They defiantly couldn't stand alone either.

Defiantly?
Definately?
I think it should be:
Video Games
Movies
- TV
Music
- Misc
Or maybe a video game help subforum?
Or maybe a video game help subforum?
There was one and it failed.

I 2nd a division like this. It's the most logical way to handle it. VGs, Music, and Movies can all stand alone, but that's not all that make up the media forum.

We change mods on these forum more often than we change our underwear.
Seriously, when we get some appointed mods can they stick around for a while? All the other forums I frequent have mods that are mods for longer than 36 hours.

Shouldn't TV and Movies be in the same forum, but still have their own tag? Or would thread tags in the Movies forum define the different genres, like how we have different console tags for video games?
itastenice
11-02-2007, 10:03 AM
Why not just keep it how it is?
Isn't the reason for thread tags so you can separate what threads are about?
It'll happen when I finish my final projects for school, and it'll be split into movies, games, music.
Individual mod for each and one super mod for all 3, or just one per subsection?
