This isn't a comment to the mods, more to the posters here.
You can delete your own fucking posts. If you double post, don't say "I'm sorry".
Just delete your double post and edit the old one. If you don't know about this, you just can do it when editing your post, theres a delete button there.(Dump this if you need, but it just pisses me off.)

I've been thinking exactly the same thing.

A lot of people legitimately don't know that they can delete their posts, because it didn't used to be that way. I forget who I was talking to, I believe it was Derelict, and he locked a thread he made in the GF because it had already been done, not knowing he could delete it.

Well I hope people will see this thread and learn to do it now.

New members can't delete their posts.
I believe that was the system when I was new. I could be completely wrong though.

I don't think they had that system before the reset.
Edit-I could be wrong tho, I just don't remember it.
Doubleedit- Thank you Rob for infracting that unfunny dick.
No, you couldn't delete posts before the reset.

I thought so. New members had very little they could do after they posted.

Like Tempest said, I've been here a while and I totally didn't know we could delete our own shit. That was more for a whole thread though, rather than just a post.
Then again 'news about the forum' isn't me, so I don't pay attention to it.

In some threads they need to double post so people know there's a new post.

I'm pretty sure that's a no-no. In most cases that's a total attention-whore move. If the thread's still on the first page, it's not necessary, and if it isn't it would probably count as necro-ing a dead thread.

I meant like in the competitions in the Showcase, not so much in the GF.

Fod means like in Relaps' art thread, and in the comic competition threads. I made a double post in my thread against Goblin Boy, but the two posts were hours and hours apart from eachother.
There's special circumstances for everything.

Exception proves the rule as they say. Is it even a rule anymore?
Its kinda irritating to see one person make 3 posts in a row to be honest.

I do not know if anyone else has experienced this but occasionally when I try to post I get a message stating that I have already posted in that thread and that I cannot double post. I do not know if this is a fluke thing that happens to me sometimes or if there is an actual message that can be displayed if someone tries to double post, but if we can somehow display an error message if someone tries to double post I say we implement it.

Do that cool thing where if you double post, it just merges your last post and your new one together. Problem solved. We have that at www.g3tsome.com, so I don't see why we can't do it here. Saves for annoying dickheads.
EDIT: I might make a guide on how to not double post.
I might make a guide on how to not double post.
Something tells me that guide is going to be pretty short.

The AVI file is taking fucking ages to export, the Guide should be up in like, 1 hour :indiff:
EDIT: It'll be up tomorrow, it's not good enough quality, can't see anything.
