Title: Chibi Robo: Park Patrol
Format: Nintendo DS Game
Rating: :heya::heya::heya::heya:
Released: October 2, 2007
I'm going to be honest. This has to be one of the most overlooked games in Nintendo's history! Maybe because it was released on the same day as Zelda: Phantom Hourglass...
Anyway, let's start this thing off. In the game you take the role of a small robot known as a Chibi Robo. He is one of many Chibi Robos who have been sent out to parks around the world in order to maintain them and keep them pretty. But as the game goes, your Chibi Robo is given one of the worst parks in the world. It's lucky to get one visitor a day. So it's your job to make the park bloom with flowers! (OH HOW FLAMBOYANTLY GAY THIS GAME SOUNDS! But trust me, it's one of the best DS games out there so far.) :whale:

Chibi Robo
After you get warmed up with the controls at the beginning of the game, you are sent off to your park. You see, you have a "base", that's what I would call it. It's a little home for your robot where you go to save your game and get neat new things to improve the park. Another robot (WAY different in appearance to your Chibi Robo) lives inside this base and guides you through how the game works. Each day you learn more things from him (in-game days, not real-time).

There's your other robot friend.
Let's start with the game mechanics! Then we'll get onto the story.
There are some core things you must know how to do in order to progress through the game. I'll post the main ones.
Watts - Watts are essential to you as a robot. You plug your cord into a power-socket and receive the watts. Your watts are slowly used by everything you do, including standing still. Your Chibi Robo can't run without them!
Happy Points - Throughout the game you receive happy points. These heart-shaped things can then be converted to watts which you use.
Spending Watts - Watts can also be used for buying things in the game. You can convert sand into soil so you can grow flowers on them, repair things in your park and much more.
Spraying - You are given a spray in the game and you use this on seeds in the park to make them grow into flowers.
Stereo Playing - You are given a stereo in the game and it plays music. You have to dance to the music with the right timing in order to make other flowers give out seeds, which then ofcourse you grow.
Clipping - You can clip/pick flowers and sell them in the city or give them to people. However, this reduces your flower count so you have to make sure to grow plenty more flowers.
Digging - You can dig up neat items under ground in certain patches.
Travelling - Walking is the main way to go from place to place, but there are other forms of transportation too, such as biking. These forms use less amounts of watts.
Upgrading - You can upgrade yourself to hold more watts and do other things. You can also upgrade the park.
The Time System - The game is based on days. Each day is essential to the game. After the day is over you are taken back to your base.
Finding Cartridges - You need cartridges in order to unlock certain things. Durr...
Smoglings - Smoglings are little black creatures that mess with your flowers. If 3 of them get around a flower they can make it turn black. Black flowers die at night, so it's a good idea to pick them so they are of use to you. You can kill Smoglings by spraying them.

Smoglings!
NOW THE STORY! The story progresses as you go throughout the game and since I haven't finished the game (I don't even think it actually finishes) I'll start with how the story starts.
What happens is after you arrive you are greeted blah blah blah. You must go out and grow some flowers. After a few days you will meet toys who will help you construct things in your park and give you tips on the game. The evil villain of the game is Sergeant Smoggler who releases Smoggler attacks on unsuspecting toys! You must then heal these toys who help you. Not really an immersive storyline, but there is more. I guarantee it.

Sergeant Smoggler and his army.
There is also a city in the game. You go here to find your friends and learn new things. There is a lot to do in the city!
All up this game is one of the best for the DS. It's is unique and does not feel like other DS gimmicks that overuse the touch screen.
