Explosm City in is Lockdown!

The residents of Explosm city were gathered around the town hall. Nobody knew why they had been summoned here at this god-forsaken hour of the morning, but not many of them really cared. Mayor Crabstick was, in all fairness, a bit of a fruitcake who took things a little too seriously. Most suspected he had a conspiracy to share with them, but even for him this was a bit extreme.

The Explosm college students had brought the keg along with them. Shadowpriest lay on the floor, sucking on the tap, while die hard03 and GoodCopBadCop wrestled in a makeshift pit of jelly, much to the amusement and betting of Deimor and alrightDARLING. Dauntasa wore his underpants on his head as he ran around in circles squealing, and Mirrorboy had wandered off and was now furiously licking a tree. Robo_Sexual had gone for a pee and tripped over a tree root, and now lay in the fetal position with his pants around his ankles. Fr0z3n stood staring at the sky with a blank expression, licking his lips in a demented sort of way.

ShaggMuffin and green_rubber_bands watched as Con-Con and BKS were locked in a furious battle of Rock, Scissors, Paper. blltmssgy was turning blue in the face as he argued with jewishjosh, who had already changed the topic and had links to prove his points. Hats of! was tied upside down from a lightpole, and was being pelted with small rocks by Zephyrus and History, while Zebbs poked him at random intervals with a stick. RabidMonkey ran between people, joining in on everybody’s conversation.

Werty66 and Coconuts had already let themselves in to the town hall, and were in the middle of re-arranging the furniture to allow better energy flow. CharlieH was writing out a report about Benjaman, who was drawing sprites on the wall as Baal Ial looked around nervously, wondering what kind of people he’d chosen to hang out with. Grim stood up at the podium, speaking in a loud voice and hoping that somebody out there cared what he had to say. WTF and davidmanman stood by the door, pretending to be security guards and fixing everybody with stares as they flexed their flabby bodies.

Mayor Crabstick joined them a few moments later carrying something in his arms. As they joined him at the podium it became clear he was holding a penguin, who wore a rather stylish top hat. “We are now officially in a state of lockdown”, he began. “This penguin you see was once our dear friend Kris, who has fallen victim to the mutations developed in the Explosm laboratories!” For a moment there was silence, everybody wondering whether to take the crackpot seriously or not. “My friends, I implore you, believe me. Yesterday Kris even changed the subject of his recent conquest of a hottie and told me of the outbreak. For anyone who has spoken to him, this change of subject is indeed uncharacteristic. He said that some of those among us now carry an infection, which can be spread to others with the smallest of bites. He did not say how many carried such an infection, but it seemed they were crafty enough to take him out first. Be cautious, dear Explosmers, there is much trouble afoot.”

“The scientist who developed the mutation has disappeared, and is rumoured to be hiding within our very town. Kris believed he wants only to destroy the carriers, although admitted he may not know who they are. Regardless, he will stop at nothing to contain his mistake. But there is hope! Two of the researchers from the laboratories believe they have developed a medication that can help us – not permanently, but it is a start. They offer it in the form of a temporary vaccine and a one-time cure, but they are both limited to one injection per day. If you believe you are in dire need of medication, I implore you to leave a note on our public noticeboard, I have been assured they will read all requests. Their identities will remain hidden, for fear that they will be targeted if the carriers know who they are.”

“So we’re just supposed to stand around and do nothing?” The voice rang out from the crowd, joined by murmurs and cheers. “To hell with that! We’re taking these fuckers down ourselves!” More cheers joined the first, and soon the gathered crowd was a chanting mob.

An angry mob roams the streets of Explosm City. Within its midst are the very creatures they are trying to destroy. Two researchers offer hope in small doses, both of them fearful for their own lives. And moving in secret is the scientist who brought this hell to the doorstep of the quiet town, ready to do anything to cover his mistakes. The roads have been closed off, there is no way out of town. The Outbreak has begun.

I require the medicine, in order for my continued survival here in the town. I've tried to be a rational voice within the crowd, and tried to get people to think for themselves. I'm placing my suspicions (and voting) on Mirrorboy, and here's why:

Dauntasa wore his underpants on his head as he ran around in circles squealing, and Mirrorboy had wandered off and was now furiously licking a tree.

I personally think they're both carriers, and seeing as Mirrorboy already has one vote, he has more of a chance of being lynched. To me, having a report written about him by a researcher dosen't mean very much, seeing as the researchers themselves have no idea who the carriers are.

In fact... “Hey, I’ve just had an idea! Let’s use him as a piñata!” There was a flurry of movement as everybody rushed to spill his candy. From the other side of the square came all sorts of cheering. RabidMonkey was bent over the sundial and tied squarely in place, as members of his friendly neighbourhood mob played anal darts. ‘Twas a game to be remembered, going all the way to a sudden death tie-breaker. As the blood began to flow, a pungent odour filled the air, and a yellow substance began to ooze out of his ass. “A carrier! We got a carrier!” The cheers filled the air as the mob reformed for the second round of darts.

“Damnit, I wanted to be killed by an army of naked women, not by a bunch of boobs!” Benjaman lay in the middle of the street, his pants around his ankles and his hands cuffed. “They were meant to run in and jump on me, smothering me in a sea of nipples and stuff. You know, it’s truly amazing how getting your face run over by a jeep can just cut you off mid-sentence. Try it sometime. Anyway, as the jeep drove off, apparently completely oblivious to the fact that it had just flattened Benjaman’s face, red tyre marks lined the road. As the mob wandered off, making bad jokes about being in the wrong place at the wrong time and marvelling at how easy it was to kill their fellow citizens, a call from the side of the road brought them running.

Jewishjosh lay facedown in the ditch, a shovel sticking out of the back of his head. His normally pretty head was stained red, offset by flakes of rust from the impaled shovel. Tied to the shovel was a short, brief note. “Fuck... wrong one.” As the crowd milled around, calling the scientist all sorts of unpleasant names, there was a loud squawking, and a small, happy looking penguin now stood where davidmanman had stood.

3 more citizens dead, 1 mutated, and minus one carrier. At least you didn’t kill a researcher this time. Although Shagg hasn’t posted yet, it’s because he was TOd, and he’s been in touch with me, so he gets to live. And for the record, WTF was originally a researcher. When he went inactive I decided it would be unfair for the civilians to suffer because he’s a twat, so I reassigned the researcher position.

I am voting for Mirrorboy mainly because it is my best chance to stay alive, since for some odd reason you think I am the carrier. Go back and look, my post has been EDITED for a couple days now, I went to sleep after I posted it and when I got back from school I edited it because I realized that when I was tired I broke the rules. Right now I probably do not need the meds, because it looks like I am going to die, I just need votes that are not against me. As everyone wiped the blood off their hands and tried not to step in the big puddles of red blood, there was a scream from the roof of the town hall. die hard03 stood precariously on the ledge, and as he wobbled for a moment, a shadowy figure ran up behind him and gave him a great shove. Squealing and flailing his arms, as if hoping it’d make a difference, he fell as ungracefully as could be and slammed into the ground, exploding and sending yellow blood and pieces of skin and entrails flying. A massive cheer went up from the mob as the shadowy figure slipped away.

As the mob cheered and danced around like buffoons, they could hear a cheer from behind them. Looking out across the dark streets, a single figure was running towards them, screaming his head and jumping around. As he ran under a streetlamp, they saw it was Coconuts. “Guess what? I’m cured!”

So, 1 carrier down, 1 civilian down, and 1 civilian saved.

As of now (my vote might change), I am going to go with Werty66. This is because not only with me (for not editing my post when I actually did) but also with BKS, and our late citizen friend JewishJosh has come up with Bogus reasons to decide that we are carriers. And although Werty's vote did not get JJ killed we all know that he was not a carrier.

Also Werty has only made one post asking for medicine, and quickly after doing so he said nevermind I don't want it. The only people here that don't need the medicine are carriers (as stated in the original rules, because they cannot turn into penguins). Obviously there is a reason for Werty not needing the medicine. And it is because he is a carrier.

People don't seem to like my creative reasons for the reason I should get meds, so here is a simple one. I would really really like the meds so I don't end up like davidmanman.

Okay, so I'm wondering.... According to your list, Crabstick, Coconuts is both 'cured' and 'unkown'.

We know that he can't be a carrier. He was cured. So we also know that he can't be our other researcher, because a researcher cannot cure himself. We DO NOT know whether he is a law abiding citizen, or a crazed scientist out to get us all.

I'm starting to wonder, he might be our Mad Scientist!

But right now I don't think I'll vote yet, because these things have come to my attention:
1) Die_Hard03 was a carrier. Who did he vote for? Who voted for him? How long was he TO'd?
2) Werty66 said he didn't want medicine. This could be because he's either a carrier, or the other researcher (Researchers don't need medicine, and can't give themselves medicine.)
3) Coconuts is 'cured' but undisclosed status. He is not a carrier. BUT he could be the mad scientist, or he could be just a citizen. (Scientist CAN be infected. but researcher CAN NOT).

Seeing as you all know I'm innocent, there are a few ways I could be killed:

Carriers: They may choose to infect me again because you all now know I'm innocent.

Mad scientist: If I'm wrong and Fr0z3n isn't the mad scientist (We all have doubts, y'see) the real scientist could kill me in hopes it will draw attention away from him/herself. Fr0z3n could also kill me using that same psychology, you won't pay attention to him because you may think it's a trick. Hidden in plain sight.
