No, not the Led Zeppelin song, though it is a great song. But as the title reads, I am going to California. In the middle of January, to be exact. Now, for those who live in the state, I'm going to be going to Los Angeles more than likely, though I hate to fit the "cliche" of those who want to be "discovered" by going to that particular city, but I am going there for a film related reason, but necessarily to be discovered.

Anyway, I am wondering are there any areas, districts, etc I should go to, move into, etc. I plan on staying for a while. Not years necessarily, but it will be over a month though.

Also, give me some advice on what I should do while there, I mean I might as well sight-see somewhat since I'll be there.

I should have mentioned this, we're going to have a decent amoung of cash with us, but we dont want to spend 1000 dollars on a motel/hotel place when we do get there, are there any cheap places to stay when we do get there.

Or should we just get an apartment and have one reserved(if possible), for when we do get there and whatnot. Which do you think would be cheaper? As of now, I'm going to say an apartment will, every hotel rates I look at, they're quite a bit for one night. But hey, its L.A. though, I guess its expected.

You're going to california?

Im sorry dude, I really am. See, the songs all try and make california seem like a great place. In reality, the singers realize they are stuck in california and want to make others share in their suffering.

Ya know how the movies always try to make you think the beaches are full of hot girls in bikinis?

Well, its exactly like that, except they're all 90 years old, and you're lucky if they decided to wear a bikini. Or anything at all, for that matter.

Meh, I've heard some parts of it arent great, i don't plan on living there forever or anything. Also, I could give a shit less about the beach to be honset. I'm sure while I'm there I'll cehck out the beaches ya know, probably take pictures of the ocean, mainly for my mother, but thats about it.

Sorry to hear you are going to southern California, what a shithole. I lived in northern California almost my entire life, and have only been to L.A. once, man was that a mistake.

Wow, its really that bad? Well, I'll make sure to get out as soon as possible. Oh and Commidity, I'm coming from Kentucky, so I'm sure everyone will probably think I have that "kentucky twang", which I have gotten sometimes(mainly over xboxlive), which is total bullshit, because I don't have it at all.
