Artist: Rush
Title: Snakes & Arrows
Release Date: May 1, 2007
Rating: :heya: :heya: :heya: :heya: :heya:
I was extremely hesitant about this album, as I am with all reunion albums of once great bands. Let's face it, 99% of albums by bands way past their prime are shit (save the new Iron Maiden album, which I liked (didn't love)). Which is why I didn't buy this album until tonight. I love Rush and find Geddy Lee and Neil Peart to be geniuses of the highest order (musical). (Side Note: Alex Lifeson doesn't really write the music, he just plays it. Lee writes music, Peart writes lyrics and drum stuff.) But this was their first album in a while, so I didn't follow that making and I didn't rush (lol pun) out to get it when it came out. But I regret ever doubting this album. As soon Geddy opened his mouth to sing on the opening track "Far Cry", I actually bursted into tears of joy. This joy continued all the way until the end.
I'll break down some of the tracks as soon as I've had more time to digest the album. Until then, feel free to go buy this album because it rocks. And if you already have it or have heard it, please add your opinion to this wonderful thread for a wonderful album.
