I was extremely hesitant about this album, as I am with all reunion albums of once great bands. Let's face it, 99% of albums by bands way past their prime are shit (save the new Iron Maiden album, which I liked (didn't love)). Which is why I didn't buy this album until tonight. I love Rush and find Geddy Lee and Neil Peart to be geniuses of the highest order (musical). (Side Note: Alex Lifeson doesn't really write the music, he just plays it. Lee writes music, Peart writes lyrics and drum stuff.) But this was their first album in a while, so I didn't follow that making and I didn't rush (lol pun) out to get it when it came out. But I regret ever doubting this album. As soon Geddy opened his mouth to sing on the opening track "Far Cry", I actually bursted into tears of joy. This joy continued all the way until the end.

I'll break down some of the tracks as soon as I've had more time to digest the album. Until then, feel free to go buy this album because it rocks. And if you already have it or have heard it, please add your opinion to this wonderful thread for a wonderful album.

Honestly, very disappointed with the lack of Rush fans.

I have heard only one song from that album (Far Cry) and it was great.
I have to borrow this album from my friend or buy it myself, I realy want to hear more.
I doubt it will be better than Moving Pictures though.

In my personal opinion, it far exceeds Moving Picutres. Moving Pictures was the first Rush album I ever bought and I love it to death. But the content in Snakes & Arrows is just so much more inspiring. I found it much more moving.

I have the Album, and although I haven't listened to all of it, what I heard was pretty snazzy. I aught to go back through and give it another listen, most albums I find are better the second time through.

Bought it two days ago and so far I've listened to the whole thing at least twice. Pretty amazing, if I do say so myself. Like you, Allen, I was expecting something half-assed and pretty mediocre. I was no where near disappointed. I'm honestly very glad I bought it.

Not only is it awesome but it's called "Far Cry" which is a kick-ass game!

Apparently one of my friends bought it a while ago so I took it from him and I have to say I think its great really surprising since I would've thought it was not gonna be as good as it is. Definately worth buying.

It's my personal favourite Rush album (2112 is second), it's fantastic, I've had itsince May 26th.

Bravest Face and The Way the Wind Blows are the best tracks I think, they fucking rock.

I love Rush, and bought the album after I saw the Snakes and Arrows tour here in Tampa at the Ford Ampatheatre. Have to say that they still play just as damn good, and with as much enthusiasm that they had back in the day.

The album is a great pick-up for any Rush fan.

Rush is one of my favorite older rock bands, so I figured I'd pick this one up. I only have The Spirit of Radio (greatest hits album) and Moving Pictures to compare it to, but I thought it was really good. My favorite off of the album is definitely Malignant Narcissism, what a jam.

I saw the Snakes and Arrows tour last year and yep, Rush is still fucking awesome.

My only two gripes throughout the entire show was 1)at times Alex had so much damn reverb on his guitar that it was near impossible to understand him and 2) they played YYZ noticeably slower; but it still wasn't enough to even come close to ruining the song.

I bought this album, and it's still classic Rush. Lovin' it. They got a li'l different sound though, seems as if there's a bit more acoustic this time around.

Saw them on the Snakes and Arrows tour end of last year. I just stood there, stunned, for about 4 hours. Pure awesome, highly recommended.
