I got an Xbox 360 today. The box says that it comes with a free 1-month Gold Membership to Xbox Live, but I have no idea where it is found. Does any other 360'ers no where I can find it in or out of the box?

You have to set up an internet connection on your 360 (ethernet cable or wireless). You also need to set up an xbox live account.

Yeah, the live account requires a credit card no matter what, though. Just FYI. Oh, and, I can try 'nd help you a little further if you really need it.

You get the month free gold when you make a silver account. I don't remember using a credit card when I made mine though.

Is my 360 not able to read my IP address because I'm using Windows Vista or because i'm using Verizon Broadband? =|

TheHighwaySong it's probably not workin because of the Verizon Broadband. I'm using W Vista and it works fine.
I didn't need a credit card to set up my account, just entered home details and e-mail adress and bish bash bosh, I had it.
Also, I got my Gold Membership while I was making my Live Account, so you don't really need to setup a silver one first, just do it all together.

Is your 360 connected Via a Router or Via your PC?

via my laptop. My source of internet is one of those USB Modems.

No you do not need a credit card. You can buy year long subscriptions in stores, no credit card needed.

Thats a shame, potential lag-to-hell problem there, but shouldn't be too bad. I spent about 6 months trying to set up (what sounds like) exactly the same connection unsuccessfully.

Yeah, with the Microsoft Point system, you don't need a Credit Card anymore. But you can still add in Billing Information if you want to.

My cousin just got his first 360 too. 360s all around!
