Discuss your favorite TV shows in this thread.

The best TV show ever must be Men Behaving Badly. It's a british sitcom from the 80's made out of pure awesome and win. It's about two flatmates who are two childish drunken pals. The one has a long relationship who doesn't go very well, and the other one always tries to seduce the attractive girl who lives above them. I have all the series and watched them all more than 2 times this summer.

So what's your favorite show and shit

24 used to be my all-time favourite show, but after a horrible season 6, I'd have to say Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, and Prison Break.

Men Behaving Badly is genius. Right up there with Fawlty Towers for being just stupid. Family Guy is another of my favourites, along with Black Books. Not that I like comedies or anything of course!

Lost comes before all other things in life, including girls, sleep, food, and younger siblings' feelings.

:thenewcare:

Prison Break's next, but for some reason I never got into 24. Throw in The Amazing Race and you've got the three shows I can't miss. Shows I'll watch if they're on include Family Guy, Malcolm in the Middle, and the odd Simpsons episode. Everyone recommends comedies like The Office and Arrested Development but during the regular season run I'm tied up with my top 3.

And I love all those British sitcoms (Fawlty Towers etc.) but I'd never go out of my way to watch them.

The Office (UK) is possibly the funniest show ever created. The US version is total crap, and anyone who says otherwise has never seen the UK version. I like South Park, too, but that's pretty much it. I'm just not really into TV, because so much of it sucks.

The Office(USA) and Scrubs are my favorite shows. The Office is so awkwardly funny how Micheal always trys to look as the cool boss, but fails. And Scrubs is just hilarious.

I also love Arrested Development, Futurama, Burn Notice, and Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Not including the ones after Jeff left, obviously.

I disagree, I like the US version way better than the UK's. It's a matter of opinion, but I really find the UK Office a bore.

The Office US, and Law & Order: SVU are really all I watch since the strike began, both are probably two of my favorite shows now.

Heroes, BSG, Family Guy, House, The L Word, Queer as Folk, and the occasional Desperate Housewives here and there.

I used to watch the Simpsons though I'm a little skeptical towards Simpsons fans who criticise Family Guy only to realise that the new Simpsons episodes are pretty much adopting identical FG humour .

You are aware that Family Guy basically took (and still take) from The Simpsons when they started right? But now everyone thinks that Family Guy was the originator and Simpsons are copying; it's the other way around. :ahe:

I think they already did tbh
I'd say right after their return. I enjoyed the first three seasons a bit, but the new episodes are downright horrid.

As for my favorites...

South Park: It's terribly animated, has crude humor, is rude to everyone, and is fucking great. It's hilarious and its messages are spot-on. Matt and Trey's voice acting is funny and never gets old to me, and I wouldn't have the animation any other way. It just works perfectly for the show's style.

And my all-time favorite television series... (Drum Roll, Please)

The Simpsons (Seasons 1-9): What isn't there to love about this show during its golden years? The voice-acting, the animation, and especially the writing is all great. It revolutionized cartoons as we know them today and was pretty much the first cartoon made for adults. The best writers are John Swartzwelder, David Mirkin, and George Meyer in my opinion. My favorite season has got to be Season 5. I can pop any disc from that season into my DVD player and laugh myself into oblivion. I'll edit my favorite episode title in here when I figure it out. The Simpsons are basically what made me want to get into cartooning and writing. I'm just lucky my dad was an avid fan of the show when I was little.

I watch a lot of other TV, but these two are my favorite shows. I also like "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", and "Futurama."

EDIT: DUH! How could I possibly forget "Monty Python's Flying Circus"? They're fucking comedy geniuses.

- Futurama, because Bender is one bad-ass robot. I'm glad it's coming back.
- The Simpsons, even at their worst, are great.
- Arrested Development. It's a terrible shame it got cancelled, they managed to weave so many separate, over-the-top plots seamlessly. And have them running for entire seasons without losing freshness.
- House M.D., at first because it was fresh, but now only for Hugh Laurie's performance. Great one-liners.
- The Young Ones - never have 4 rejects looked so good. And the good bit of surreal sketches and cartoon ultra-violence never hurt anyone.
- The Sopranos
- Flight of the Conchords
- My Name Is Earl, or else karma is going to get me.

Top Gear: Absolutely genius. Those who have watched will know what I mean.

Scrubs: I used to think it was mediocre at best but now I really love it. Always makes me laugh so VERY hard.

Black Books: Comedy genius. Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey work together SO well. Its nearly perfect. A new series would push it past that mark, I think.

Fawlty Towers: Classic British comedy at its best. Sadly they only did 12 episodes but those 12 episodes can never get boring, in my opinion.

There are lots more but these are the ones that stand out to me.

Kenny vs Spenny - nonstop laughs throughout each show.

Prison Break - though it's more like a soap opera now, I still have to watch it in hopes that the action will pick back up.

I barely watch tv anymore, I worked evenings for many years so I missed most everything, and now I'm back in college with evening classes. My favorites are Family Guy, The Shield, South Park, wrestling and -when I catch them- CSI and Law & Order: SVU. 'Cancelled' faves are Oz, Seinfeld, X-Files (until the last 2-3 seasons) Titus and Becker. I've never seen the british Men Behaving Badly, but I did enjoy the american version with Rob Schneider.

I'm a fan of Sopranos, but they are gone now. I never played the game and I won't risk it, I would hate to have my favorite television series ruined for me by a bad game. In any case, Sopranos is a show about a family, in both senses of the word. You have a Mafia-family, and the boss is also a father of a normal family! I know, it's a ground-breaking concept, amirite? In any case, it's done well enough, so I enjoyed it. They claim they've ended the series, but I bet within a year or so they will jump out of the woodwork.

"O HAI- we said the series was over, we never said anything about a movie. Har har. Pwnt."

I'd see it. Seriously.

The greatest show ever? Moonlighting, especially if you're a Bruce Willis fan.
So well-written, so funny, plenty of non-sequiturs, they often break the fourth wall, dry humor, sarcasm, and wit pouring out of each actor and actress.

They say Bruce Willis ad-libbed a massive chunk of his dialogue, too. Check it out - especially seasons 1 and 3.

The only show I regularly watch is Jericho. Apparently they're bringing it back, so they've just started showing double episodes. Hadn't seen it before, and I'm quite liking it.

Previous to this, Rome and The Tudors were my regular viewing. Both great shows.

There are a bunch of half-hour shows I'll watch, but not even close to religiously. Scrubs, Seinfeld, Fraser, Futurama, American Dad and Family Guy are all good. Out of those, Futurama definitely gets preference.

I also watch rugby league religiously, but I guess this doesn't count, does it?

Men Behaving Badly is from the 90's and the two greatest shows of all time are The Shield, starring Michael Chiklis as Vic Mackey - the hardest, badassest cop in Farmington, LA taking names and kicking ass and 24 which, as I'm sure you're all aware, stars Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, the definition of "Patriot", fighting terrorism and generally being a loose cannon but still getting results, god damn it.

Seinfeld - It's just fucking classic. It's a show about nothing. It's a funny show based around an unfunny guy.

Moonlighting - Cybill Shepherd is totally the highlight of this show. She just bring so much class and great acting to... Fuck it. This show is all about the Willis. Willis brings his wit and awesomeness in the classiest way possible and still manages to occasionally get drunk and be fucking awesome.

24 - Totally amazing and intense show. It's my favorite show ever. It rocks. I've seen every season all the way through. It just kicks ass. Jack Bauer is a real American hero.

Cheers - It's such a goddamned comforting show. It's impossible to not love these characters.

Also, over the past week I've come to love everything on the Sci-Fi channel for being so hilariously bad. It's awesome. Especially their original movies.

"Cheers" was brilliant - "Just imagine how the Civil War would have turned out if Abraham Lincoln had octopus tentacles instead of a beard". Cliff made the show, though everyone was well-cast.

I have to disagree with you when you say theres action in Bleach. I've seen maybe a dozen episodes here and there and theres never much action. Someone does some crazy attack that seems to devastate the landscape(But everything looks perfectly normal afterwards) then the other guy blocks it easily then that leads to the rest of the episode explaining each others back stories.

Who knows maybe I just saw the wrong episodes.

Desperate Housewives, Scrubs and Greys Anatomy are the three shows that I cannot miss when they're on, well not Scrubs anymore but it was. I really like Arrested Development and Dexter too though. Do panel shows count? If so, Nevermind the Buzzcocks and The Panel are up there too.
I'm actually not a huge TV person but they're the shows I'd actually sit and watch.

The Wire - It's quite simply the best written and acted TV series I've ever watched.

I also get kicks out of Red Dwarf and South Park for quick laughs.

Grey's Anatomy- I just love it. I don't even know why. This show makes me cry alot too(stupid Denny)
Home and Away- Australian soap, it was really addictive(also one of the characters had the same first name as me and I never see characters with the same name as me)
House- I like medical shows. I really liked it when I was taking all the sciences and could understand what they were talking about(kinda)
Bones- something to watch that I dont hate.
Simpsons- needs no explanation
Malcolm in The Middle- I have no idea. It's just always on and we have poor channel selection
Reba- I love this show.

I dont watch all these shows religiously, only Grey's is a absolute must.

I fucking love scrubs. I watch close to zero TV but I make a massive exception for Scrubs. It's just brilliant, and shamelessly fearless in the way it approaches many issues, especially race and it's impact on contemporary culture.

Really good show. I think it's coming back on January 22nd. I've been messing around with the Burn Notice Ops (http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice/) to get pumped for it.

the animation, and especially the writing is all great.

I've gotta say, even though Simpsons does have a fun episode every now and then, their animation isn't good AT ALL.
Their 3D proportions are pretty much messed up at many scenes, and the screen usually just consists of the persons and a background.

----------------------------------

On a less critic note, I've gotta say that My name is Earl is a great TV-Show.

Dexter
Iron Chef
Arrested Development
Scrubs
Black Books
Spaced

Let's be best friends!

I'd like to list those 4 up above, as well as:

Shamelessly, Family Guy and American Dad, which aren't great shows but they're quite funny.
NEWStopia (for Australian audiences)
House
Red Dwarf
Father Ted
Absolutely Fabulous
CNNNN
We Can Be Heroes & Summer Heights High
The Daily Show & The Colbert Report
The Office & Extras
Futurama
Drawn Together
Flight of the Conchords
...and my favourite TV show that is currently on air is, by a long margin, 30 Rock. Tina Fey is a comedy genius, it's so original and unexpected and completely deserves the acclaim, awards and accolades it receives. And if you haven't or don't watch it, you should.

Sitting well with me right now are:

Desperate Housewives [Dana Delany should be my wife]

South Park
China Beach
Alias
Ab Fab
MASH
True Blood
Melrose Place
Dexter
Family Guy
Flight of the Concords
Heroes
Robot Chicken

Lately, I can't stand the crap out of Grey's.

Scrubs, The Mighty Boosh and Black Books are the only shows I try and watch regularly, although I can sit down infront of stuff like Friends, Family Guy, American Dad etc. when they're on.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Shameless, I only started watching in the last series because my friends wouldn't shut up about it but it's a pretty good watch.

I love Black Books - I rolled off the couch laughing at that ep where Manny drinks too much coffee while watching a cop show and chases after that rogue bag snatcher..

I don't know why everyone says Scrubs..not sure if this is the UK version of a wacky hospital based comedy but the Green Wing is a thousand times better. I think what makes the difference (apart from the better script) is that the characters on Green Wing are nonsensical but they aren't annoying (Sue White?!). Definitely one of my favorites.

Apart from that: The Soup, Flight of the Conchords (for Murray) and Wipe Out USA :) It still hasn't gotten old for me. And the Avatar!

I don't watch a whole lot of TV as the majority of my day is consumed by forums, photoshop, video games, and music. But here are a few I actually take the time to watch, in no particular order:

Squidbillies - I can't help but love it, as I live in northern (but not that far north) Georgia myself.
Robot Chicken - can't think of a reason other than it's fucking hilarious
Family Guy - People call it stupid but some of seth's humor is pretty witty
House M.D. - love that Sardonic asshole
Nip/Tuck - One of the only shows i've followed every episode/season of
Lie to Me - was pretty cool, didn't see the whole season though
Metalocalypse - another show I watched religiously, for obvious reasons. This show was awesome in the sense that before it came out, there were never really any shows dedicated to metal, and by metal i mean REAL metal.

Star Gate (both the original and Atlantis) can't get over either of them, really disappointed they both got canned. They both were based on SIFI basically explorers from earth traveling though a device called the Star Gate (a ring which lights up and creates a wormhole in which u pass though to other planets) Was an awesome show. Atlantis was based in a different galaxy to the Sg1, it was in Pegasus. I would recommend it to anyone who loved (or loves) Star Wars / Star Trek. The show has a lot of shooting and is heavy in scientific physco babble (at times) Action packed nerd squad hehe.

Does anyone watch Burn Notice? I caught a marathon last thursday (which is typically the best way to get into a show, a whole bunch of episodes back-to-back for free) and fell in love with it. I picked up season 1 and 2, and season 3 just got started with new episodes airing every thursday at 9 on USA. It's this spy-based show, and the best thing about it is the voice-overs that the main character does constantly. When heading into a tricky situation, his voiceover explains the dangers and things a good spy has to consider.

For example, when Michael finds himself in a hardware store, looking for items to build some sort of trap, "I'll take a hardware store over a gun any day. Guns make you stupid. Better to fight your wars with duct tape. Duct tape makes you smart."

It's very entertaining, worth checking out if you have ever wanted anything to do with covert ops.
