This is a mod for PC versions of GTA SA. You also need to downgrade your version to 1.0 since 2.0 is unmoddable due to that Hot Coffee shit.

Seriously though, they should have made this for Vice City, as that game tramples over San Andreas. The thought of a multi player GTA sounds pretty lame to me, I only played the game for the story, and the occasional dead hooker. Online just seems like you will go around and blast other people for no real reason, not so fun to me.

It actually features a bunch of fun gamemodes besides the free-roam DM. There's one that includes stealing a car from other gangs (kinda like CTF). Then there's Interstate '69 where you have rocket launchers and mines and miniguns on your car and you shoot other cars. And then there's Hay where you climb a really tall tower made of hay blocks which move sometimes. You would think the Hay is pretty boring, but it's actually one of the most populated servers at the moment. It's a great feeling when you get to the top. But before that, you'll probably fall many times :D

It's been race only, now you can get out of the car and there are new gamemodes.

TheHighwaySong, GTA4 will feature it's own multiplayer. And besides, its engine is too different from GTA 3, VC, SA. They'd have to learn it all over again.

Sain'ts Row has online multiplayer, so I think it shouldn't be too hard to implement in GTA4. I mean, if Saint's Row can do it, so can GTA4.

No, they have decided that there won't be any co-op modes but they hinted that something will be online.

MTA has been around since at least GTA VC and you could get out of your car and beat the shit out of others in it. I had it for awhile and did so quie often.
