REVIEW: Absolutely fucking hilarious. Great movie and many twists and puns of movie stereotypes. I thought it looked funny at first, but I was thinking that it was a complete knock off of Johnny Cash's movie. It wasn't! The trailers aren't aired much on TV, but look for a theater that shows a movie poster where a guy is doing a silly impression of Jim Morrison on the cover.

No, it does not make fun of specific rockstars. Just all types of their stereotypes, and movies in general. For example: Actors who play kids in high school are in their mid-twenties to early-thirties, completely making them look older than anyone under or atleast eighteen. Dewey is the same age and looks the same when he is said to be fourteen throughout the movie And thank Christ there were no pop-culture references!! BLECK!! :barf:

Overall, great movie. Very unique sense of humor that my friend and I enjoyed very much. Awkward comedy is greatly portrayed. There were parts where my friend and I just lost it with laughter in the dialouge when the people next to us looked at us like we were crazy. If you're a fan of the humor used in Cyanide and Happiness, then you will enjoy this film and has similar styles of humor (excluding necrophilia).

A must see.

I totally agree. At first I was weary about seeing it, because the commercials didn't make it look "laugh out loud" funny and while it did get 70% on Rotton Tomatoes I was cautionous to see it in theaters. I've actually just finished watching it (less than a minute ago) on the internet, and I am glad I saw it. Even at the beginning I didn't think it was worth it to actually go see it in theaters, but by the end I was wishing I did. Honestly it was good without my knowledge of most musical histories, so I would probably be laughing even harder if I had any idea about what they were parodying.

Although my favorite part had to be Jonah Hill as Nate Cox. He might have had about 3 minutes total screen time but he was fucking hilarious. Good review also.
