So you'd pretty much have to be living under a cave to not know there was going to be a sequel to Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, but I'd always assumed it would be called Harold and Kumar Go to Amsterdam.

In my honest opinion this movie can either suck complete ass or be great. From the trailer I kind of got the sense that the movie is nothing more than slightly more mature humor than the Scary Movies or Epic movie, but considering how good the first one was, it can be surprising (whether its surprisingly good or surprisingly bad).

Discuss.

Rob Corddry is a great actor, it's a good thing to see him in more and more movies.

So, this is some kind of smart political satire dealing with stereotypes and feares of western civilisation?

I guess it can't be worse than Epic Movie was or what Meet the Spartans will be.

It looks absolutely hilarious. I cannot wait.

If it's as funny as the first, I'll see it. I disagree about it looking on par with Epic Movie, Date Movie, etc. I established how much I can't stand those in the "Meet the Spartans" thread.

I've never seen any Harold & Kumar movies (are there more than one?). I've always just stereotyped them as stoner movies with gratious drug references. Am I wrong or should I look into these?

About damn time! I absolutely loved the first one and I can't wait for this one. No matter how craptacular it is.

There's only one I think. It was an alright movie, you should see it; it was alright.

Only one, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle which is about them getting the munchies and traveling to find a White Castle to satisfy said hunger.

I thought White Castle was great, and I hope this one's just as good.

EDIT: Laughed my butt off at the terrorist bit on the plane. I am seeing this movie.

Stupid movie, stupid sequel.

Exactly my thoughts, the first one was so incredibly stupid I don't know what people enjoy about it. I prefer my comedies with a little depth, not this stupid "hey look at us we smoke pot and do stupid things" plot that is horrid.

Something interested I found out a while ago. Apparently Kal Penn is extremely smart and is actually teaching a course at a university this semester. I could only imagine how awesome it would be to have him teaching...:hmm:

The first one was horrible. I don't plan on seeing the sequel.

Look, Little Miss Sunshine and Wag the Dog are all well and good but sometimes you just need a funny movie you can sit back to and turn off your brain and just have a good laugh at, such as Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle and Beerfest.

You need a mixture of both.

Althought some of you guys think the series are shit, the first movie was pretty entertaining for me in my opinion. I've been waiting for this movie, and I'm so excited to see it. The trailer was pretty funny, the plane part made me smile. I'm definitely going to see this movie.

I enjoyed the first one and will go see that one too for sure. Dressed up as a terrorist with that beard, that made it for me. It's above the Scary Movies, wich is probably the "lowest" kind of humor I'll actually laugh at. The fact that there's actually a story, stupid or not, makes it better than the Scary and Epic ones. Those last are just storyless, and filled with random jokes that make no sense.
This one is going to be just fine in my opinion. :)

Maybe sometimes that's what you need, but not me. Beerfest was one of the worst movies I had ever seen in my life, and I doubt this new Harold and Kumar will be any different.

So you are going to be seeing it then. :ahe:

Meh, didn't like the first one in the first place. However, I like that Richard Christy's gonna be in the sequel.

Nah. I think this movie will be great. But not as good as the original. (Is there ever a movie better than the original?) I loved the first one, watched it many times. I hope it lives up to it's name.

Ah, you got me there. That movie was a masterpiece of anyone who followed the original Clerks and other Kevin Smith movies.

I'd say it's a few notches above the ____ Movie titles. In the first Harold and Kumar, they didn't try insanely hard to be funny and fail.

I thought i'd revive this thread.

This movie was beyond funny, my friend was in tears.
I suggest seeing it soon.

I actually enjoyed the movie. It was done really well, had a lot of political satire on quite a large scale, but still left room for goofy pot humor. It was a nice mix. They really expressed their political views quite a bit, but did it in a smart, poignant way. It's much better than the first film and WAY better than Meet the Spartans or any of those shitty spoof film franchises.

For some reason it isn't out until August here in Australia, which is a disappointment to me since the first one was one of my favourite movies.

I was planning to go see it at 10pm on one night but it got canceled. No idea why but I was pretty mad since I love H & K.

There are other ways to see it... What, I'm talking about flying to America to catch it in a cinema, its totally what I did to see it in Australia.

It was hilarious and filled with political, racial and pot humour. And by Racial I don't mean people ran around saying 'Nigger nigger whah?.' It was more of the 'looks like the racial stereotype but is actually the oppisite type of person' humour.

And the Unicorn horn didn't look to shiny from my point of view.
