This is the Sign-up thread for a new forum game called Explosm: The Invasion. I'm still working out a couple of things, but I will definitely be finished by Tuesday. This game is the same type of game as other "Mafia" games but it has an alien invasion theme and it is a bit more complex. It has more than just two conflicting factions and a lot of different roles. If you wish to join, post in this thread. There is a brief description of the game below:

Explosm: The Invasion


The Great City of Explosm has been invaded by Aliens. The Invaders were pushed back and driven into retreat by the valiant efforts of the city militia and the Marines, but unfortunately they managed to plant agents in the guise of humans into the city before they fled. Because the aliens could be disguised as anyone, the Marines have put up a blockade around the city to keep anyone from escaping, firing on all who come near. The remaining men and women of the Militia are trapped inside the city, fighting for their lives against the Invaders and other, even more sinister forces. Can they do it…?



As you can tell, this game will focus mainly on Aliens, but there will be other threats to the Militia. What are they? Well it wouldn’t be fun if I told you , now would it? Don’t worry though, the Militia has a few tricks up its collective sleeve that will help it deal with them. Anyway, here is a list of all of the factions I’m willing to tell you about at this point in time:

The Civilians
The good guys, trying to cleanse the Invaders from their midst.

Public Roles:

Militiaman: The Warriors of Explosm: Although poorly trained and lightly equipped, the Militiaman stands a better chance against enemies than your average Citizen.
Special Skills: 30% lower chance of death when attacked.

Citizen: The Survivors of Explosm: The normal citizens who have survived the attack unharmed.
Special Skills: None


The Drakellan Invaders
The bad guys, trying to rid the city of its human inhabitants and claim it for themselves.

Public Roles:

Soldier: The Warriors of Drakella: Alien warriors who shape shift to confuse their enemies.
Special Skills: Can attempt to kill one player each turn. Success rate depends on role of target. Rate against Citizens is 90%.

Worker: Slaves of Drakella: The lowly dregs of Drakellan Society.
Special Skills: As long as the Queen lives, they can attempt to control the mind of one human and turn him over to the Invader’s team. Success rate depends on target role. Rate against Citizens is 40%.

Queen: Leader of Drakellan Invasion Force: The queens are the rulers of Drakellan Society.
Special Skills: Unknown



Special Game Mechanics:

Firing Squad:
When someone is lynched, five people are randomly picked to perform the Execution. Some secret roles have the ability to take someone with them when they are lynched. The person who is taken with them is either randomly chosen, or picked by the person being lynched, from the people on that rounds Firing Squad.

Injury:
Some secret roles have the ability to cause injuries. If you recieve a minor injury, then you are unable to use your special skill for one round. If you recieve a serious injury, then you can not use special skills or vote in the next round.

Agreed. I think there should be a decent amount of time to vote, that way someone can try to prove there innocence, and maybe reverse the lynch, but otherwise, it can just get ridiculous.

Well, it was less than an hour away from getting up when EVERYBODY CHANGED THEIR FUCKING NAMES! I have to figure out who the hell everyone is before I can send the PMs and finally start the game. Also, I now have to re-write the opening story because the clues don't work any more. It will be up as soon as possible but that might be a day or two from now.
