It's already up to three thousand dollars, and it's only been on eBay for half a day.
How high do you think it will sell for?

I bet it goes for around $8,000 since people are crazy.

I bid both of my pinky fingers and my left nut.
I would buy that no matter how useless it is.
It would go upt o maybe $10,000 because Colbert is the shit.

I'm betting it goes for 13,000, because 1) it's for charity and 2) because people, as a whole, are insane
I say it goes for about $12,000. There's still quite a while until the auction is over so more people will know it's up. Plus it has some signatures on it so that would increase the value of it for some people.
Well considering the fact that it took about a day to reach $5,100 id say it will go to about $20,000 by the end of the weekend.
Oh jesus, that's downright disgusting.
I'd say in the $15,000-$20,000 range.

I'm thinking around $20K. Its already at $8,100, and there are still 8 days left.

I say 17,000! Since its already up to 8,200....

Yea, i'm going to have to go with like 25k. 8 days to go, and the auctions only been going on for 2 days. People are very, very stupid. Just give 25 thousand to me.
I'm guessing around 22 thousand.
Rebecca.

Damn. It's already up to $8,200 & there's over 8 days left in the bidding. I'm saying it's going to go up to up to at least $20,000, & has the potential to go much, much higher.
EDIT:

At least it's for charity. It's not like Colbert is keeping the money.

Or is he? He might need that money for emotional damage.
But yea, 20k at least.

"Throughout the recovery, Stephen received support from friends in government and the media, who rallied behind him with cast signatures and heartfelt get-well-soons."
What the hell, its like he had some life-threatening disease or something equally as perilous. I guess if he had aids people would just laugh at him though. :indiff:

If you believe that he's serious then you really have never seen the show.

Is odd that i've no idea who he is?
But based on the rate it's going (8.5K at the time of this post) i'd say about $40,000.

10k at the most. Now see, if it was an actual celebrity like Paris Hilton? Some wack job would pay 50 grand just to use it to jerk.

Paris Hilton isn't a celebrity.

I'd whack off to Stephen Colbert's smelly cast.

He's not a girl, that is attractive (to some people). Paris is pretty repulsive to me.

At least he isn't doing it just to line his own pockets.

$10,100.00 as of right now 'nuff said.

It's cuz you're a Scot.
He's a political comedian who pretty much takes the piss out of everyone, and has an ego the size of the Eastern Hemisphere. He's actually pretty funny from time to time though, so it's not all bad.
Yea and some of his stuff is simaller to John stewert.

Everyone who knows who Colbert is knows that he started on the Daily Show, alongside Jon Stewart. I figured that he'd have no idea who that was either.

I'd give up both of my wrists for the cast in a twist of irony.
17,500 tops.
Stephen Colbert... Funny man.
Wouldn't buy a cast though
Its 12.1k right now, I would say it gets to 35k at least.

i say about 30k, unless some crazy guy comes on and bids like 200k

damn steven's cool and all but who would spend that much on a wrist watch, other then crazy people
The guy who won has zero feedback, and I wouldn't be surprised if he just placed a phony bid. After all, it's a $17,000 arm cast, and it probably smells.
It's a closed auction, so all bidders are verified before they can bid. Note that the account that put the item for auction also has no feedback.

Think:
1. Someone with $17000 to blow on celebrity memorabilia probably has a lot of money, and doesn't need to bother with an eBay account. Hence, they would've just heard about Colbert's cast and joined eBay solely for the purposing of buying it.
2. Stephen Colbert (or his crew, manager, or whoever is selling the cast) probably doesn't regularly auction stuff off over eBay. If this is the real deal, they also would've made an eBay account just to sell the cast.

It's better than that portrait of himself that was put on eBay before. I think that got up to 999 million dollars before they had to restart the auction

I'll say $4,000 at most - it's just a cast.

It's about 17,000 now. Stephen Colbert isn't even that cool. It'd probably be at 50,000 for Rod Stewart. I don't think it's worth over $500.

There was one point when it was up over 75K because people were bidding all sorts of BS numbers. That was about a week ago or so, though.

Maybe some one would pay $50,000 to break Rod Stewards hand, but that's the only way he'd get 50,000.

Cast signers include: Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York; CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric; Bill O'Reilly, host of FOX's The O'Reilly Factor; Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of U.S. House of Representatives; Tim Russert, host of NBC's Meet The Press; Tony Snow, White House Press Secretary; and NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams.
So, you know, you're getting their signatures as well, wich for an autograph collector makes it fairly desirable. But still, AMericans can be fucking stupid sometimes. $17,200 dollars for a cast? I'm going to break my arm right fucking now!
$68.34 off.
