In search of Great Games!

So, my brother and I saved up our money, and finally bought a PS3!!!! (80 GB)

Well, before I go spending my precious 120$ I would like to know some kick-ass games I can buy.

The games I currently own are:

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (awesome!)
Rock Band (awesome as well!!)

On a side note, I was VERY interested in Team Fortress 2, But not sure if its worth getting the whole Orange Box (I've already played Half Life before)

Well, I've heard the Orange Box for the PS3 doesn't run as smooth as it does for PC and Xbox360. Just saying.

You should have gotten an Xbox360 :p

But, I say get Resistance : Fall of Man, I hear its a good one. But hey, just think, you now have a PS3, meaning you can get METAL GEAR 4! That's the only reason I'd like to get a PS3 at the moment.

I suggest you wait for GTA IV to come out. It's gonna be so sweet, awesome graphics.

Assassin's Creed is really good aswell (it's like GTA but you have to think more, and it's set back almost 1000 years.)

Far Cry 2 will be pretty good when it comes out.

The Orange box is worth the money.
Half Life 2: episode 1 and 2, TF2 (which is really good) and PoRTaL (which is freaking addictive) 5 games for the price of 1.

This is speaking from PC experience, not PS3, but I would go for the Orange Box. TF2 is a great game, but don't count out Portal and HL2 Episodes 1 and 2. It really is an amazing price for such quality games. Even if you only play them once, I say they're a must-have.

I suggest getting Disgaea 3 when it comes out. But only get it if you don't care about graphics that much, because they suck.

Ya the Orange Box has already been said but I totally agree with them. It's better for PC but still all the games you get are awesome no matter what system you get it for. I just beat Half Life 2, Ep 1, Ep 2 and Portal recently. Now I'm playing TF2 which is addictive. I don't have a PS3 myself but my bro does and he has Guitar Hero 3, Resistance: Fall of Man, Tony Hawk's Project 8 and something else which I can't think of at the moment. He's got good games and JonC, MGS4 is good!!!

I second this. Uncharted had to be one of the funnest games I've played. It's short, so I beat it in about ten hours, and that's with lingering, but it's so fun I find myself going back to it to get all the Medal Points (Skill Points, basically). Ratchet is also good, I'm working on that. And Resistance is indeed fucking great. Also, if you buy Warhawk, which is pretty good, in stores ($60) as opposed to the Playstation Network ($40), you get a bluetooth headset with it. I got my PS3 for Christmas, mainly for the games to come. Like, LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, Haze, God of War III, and Resistance 2. There are others that I have on a list, but I can't get to it right now.

Other things to come in the future that I'm interested in , non- exclusives, would be Brutal Legend and Destroy All Humans 3.

EDIT: Ah, I forgot about another exclusive coming out this year. InFamous, by Sucker Punch, a Sandbox Superhero game where you decide whether to use your powers for good or evil. Looks great.

I've had some fun playing Rainbow Six Vegas on my brothers PS3, but I would really suggest, even though it's a PS2 game, you get Sniper Elite it takes a good amount of time to beat, and has anything you could possibly want in a sniper game.

Just wait and get MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. That would be the sole reason for me to get a PS3.
For games now I reccommend Resistance: Fall of Man, because I heard it was a really great game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune got PS3 game of the year on IGN. It looks like a knock off of Indiana Jones, but still looks very fun.

Resistance: Fall of Man is a pretty poor. It's a very hard first person shooter. I wouldn't bother getting it.
Orange Box is a very, very good game. Also get Ninja Gaiden: Sigma. My all time favourite PS3 game has to be Heavenly Sword. Geddit, geddit, geddit!

I'd have to say uncharted. Out of all the ps3 games i have (Resistance, Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 3, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and Oblivion) i'd say it's the most fun, even if it is rather short. That or oblivion because it has so much stuff to do.

Uncharted and R&C are both pretty sweet, but I have the same question. What new game should I get? Should I get Elder Scrolls IV, Resistance, or GHIII? I have all the good ones already, CoD4, Rock Band, Warhawk (just for the headset that came with it :wink:)
