The Ditty Bops is a two woman band, consisting of Abby DeWald and Amanda Barrett. Their style has been described as a mixture of Folk, Bluegrass, and Ragtime, along with others. But, call it what you will, their sound is a fresh new take on the musical scene of today. They're known for their harmonizing vocals, playful lyrics, and addition of instruments such as the dulcimer, mandolin, and washboard. Their sound is crisp, clear, fun and very easy on the ears.
They like to be a bit out-there when it comes to their live tours. Such as in 2006 when they did a large-scale tour, to commemorate the release of their album "Moon Over the Freeway". They rode bicycles from L.A. to New York City, doing live performances along the way!
I can't describe them very well, but if you feel like you want to try something new, why not give them a try? Tell me what you think!
