My favorite character in the game is definitely PACKIE McReary, not only does he have the greatest mission in the game but he has to be the greatest well written character, whenever you take him out he talks about himself and his family and what his mother has ever gone through for example When Gerry went to juvie their mother still set a plate for him at the dinner table until their drunk of a father threw the plate and then their mother stopped setting the plate... It seems like nothing but the way the character said it, it seemed so well written.
My second favorite is a tie between Roman and Niko their relationship is the most realistic in the game when Niko took Kate out on a date he revealed something really personnal about Roman. Kate had asked How was the war? he says how do you think it was? you got to see your friends die people turn into animals and Roman's mother was raped and killed in her own home, I was the one that found her. Roman dosen't know though, I told him she died in a house fire It might seem like nothing but the writting in the game is so awardwinningish.
The least favorite is Manny Escuela, he's just trying so hard to do the undoable

The multiplayer is seriously turning into fail, they need to release a patch for it, soon. Ranked matches pick a random party leader from all the people in the game, and that party leader can do anything from turning auto-aim on (Fail), to turning Voice Chat to All instead of Team (FAIL FAIL FAIL), to fucking up the weapons and time limit on the map. There needs to be a way to keep a set party leader, or let you specify certain criterion that you want met. Also, the match-making is a wreck in ranked mode. People get disconnected from your party randomly with absolutely no warning, and it'll often match you up with a team of two people, when you have 6 or 7 in your own party.

Also, the whole 5 FPS when more than 3 cars are on the screen at once is really frustrating.

Multiplayer sucks true balls if you're a user of the Playstation Network as well, since I've heard a lot of stories of the game refusing to even load up if you're signed in. I'm starting to think that maybe multiplayer was a bit of an afterthought that wasn't tested enough. With the right patches and a bit of work though it could be epic.

I don't see anything wrong with multiplayer; then again, I only play on Free Roam.

But, now that I think about it, it does seem that I get D/C'd a lot, or that people/cops/civilians are lagging all over the place. None the less, Free Roam is a blast.

Thankfully I've never been disconnected, but it does like lag a little bit from time to time. But its nothign which hinders the game play at all.

I love the story so far, where I'm at. Such a great game, such a great game. Not best game ever, but its up there though.

I'd say the only thing this game is lacking is a Saint's Row-esque garage where you can style your rides etc.

Or at least be able to decide what colour you want at the Pay and Spray, I really feel that's lacking. Otherwise it's cool.

play multiplayer whenever they want to watch you, and you should be ok. other than that, there is no way to avoid the bad language, which is my parents major gripe with the game. Honestly there isn't anything that bad about it, you don't haveto get a prostitute, or go to strip clubs, so nothing sexual. But the if you want to enjoy the cut scenes, they better be ready for drug references and cussing.

Also, try driving around nicely and DON'T handbrake turn when you're a newb, you're guaranteed to mow down a whole load of people.

Best bet is to go for Team Deathmatch or Race in multiplayer.

Quick Question: How do you save?

It auto-saves after missions but if you don't want that or want to save for some other reason, go to your safehouse, walk up to your bed and you can save.

Crazy shit. I was doing the mission for Little Jacob where you have to go chase the dealer to his supplier, running up the stairs to the very top of the apartment building where you have to break the lock to get in and after I finished I didn't want to run down all the stairs so I looked to see if there was a building I could just jump to. There wasn't, but there was one of those fire escape stairs outside the building, so i thought I'd just jump on that instead.

So I jumped off, missed the stairs, and then Niko did some sort of weird flip, and landed right on his feet, 5 or 6 stories below! I said "what the fuck?!" out loud. I went up the stairs, tried it again, except this time he fell and had to be taken to the hospital. What the hell?

Me and my room-mate got it for PS3 on friday and I still haven't figured out if I like it better than previous games. It seems to be missing something that the other games had. Maybe i'm just crazy, but I definately can't complain about it considering I've been playing it every day so far.

The realism is amazing, from the ragdolls to the road and weather conditions. A+

Also spawned a couple fun drinking games like, Best Bail Competitions and such.

The only problem I have with it is the fact it introduces a bunch of awesome/improved things and then just forgets about them.

The first two I can think of are disarming moves (and close combat in general) and picking up stuff to throw.

The latter I literally used once to smash a window in one mission when it told me to and then literally forgot about it.

The other I also used in one mission when it told me to but didn't forget about it because I kept trying to find opportunity's to use it :[

But other than that everything's golden, you can tell they've actually paid attention to what worked in former games and what didn't. And right now I'm wondering how I survived without the taxi functions.

And executions are fucking win in a bottle.

One question for anyone who's figured it out, when you can call roman for a free taxi, sometimes he refuses like a douche. Is it random or does it have an actual reason?

I took Roman out maybe once more than the story allowed at the beginning of the game pretty much to play darts and get drunk. He keep giving me cars even now that I've just unlocked all islands. But I think if I keep avoiding him he may stop.

This game just sucks in all of my time. I just stopped about 10 minutes ago but I've been playing for 3 hours, and I only wanted to play for 1. Even then, the only reason I stopped was that I died on one of the car jacking missions and then drove all the way to another mission but drove into an explosive barrel and died again. This game is just crazy, if you ever get bored of something there is always an alternative to keep you playing.

I'm becoming decent at driving. I'm just getting into the game where precision is key, so lucky me.

Personally, I only drive the sedans. They're not insanely fast but can still get some speed after a stretch. As far as I can tell they have the best handling and the least fishtailing when the e-brake is applied. A really easy way to get around a corner quickly is to apply left trigger before you reach it, let go of the accelerator, then as you turn apply the accelerator again and tap your e-brake. Sometimes you still spin, but if you do it right, you'll skid directly into the right lane.

Does anyone hear a static sound sometimes before someone calls you? What's up with that? I've had that happen in real life at my cousin's house when his cell phone was on top of his TV, the TV would occasionally flicker and make static noises before someone called.

I think I am about 85%ish through with the storyline. I just want it to end so I can do whatever I want without all those blips on my radar. I'm still not doing any Bruce missions. I had a few friends over about a week ago and while playing GTA that's pretty much all we did. One of them actually managed to catch on the helicopter rotor blades when he jumped out. Would have made a perfect .gif if I could capture it.

So like a couple of days ago, I heared some rumour about there's a child porn website on the in-game internet and if you go on it you instantly get 5 stars.
I thought nah, that's a stupid rumour. As if they'd have a child porn site.
I was doing a mission that involved me going into some guy's house and checking out his laptop. I got distracted and started reading some joke message board about steroids (pretty funny), then I found a site by a radio DJ in San Andreas (Area 53) then I clicked on this one link and it was the damn child porn site. I was like no way. Sure enough, I logged out quick and I had five stars. I got out of the house and it was a totally empty street at night, like really empty, I was running around looking for a car. Then like 5 cop cars and a helicopter came and I died.

Well GTA is the kind of game where you can do like ten missions, get some weapons, go on a few dates, do some jobs, shoot some pidgeons and generally terrorise the city and you could be no "further" in the game. So it doesn't matter.
I've had it since the day after it came out and I'm on the middle island.

The third and final one I saw was on one of the last choices you make and while driving a truck, I saw it on some cliffs.

I didn't know what you were suppose to do with them. I wonder what you get for getting them....and the hidden packages.

I was confused at first by the pigeons as well, then I found out that they actually were the packages themselves, so I've only got 1. I also unlocked the rest of the city today after I helped Packie rob the mafia and chose to kill Playboy X (I didn't like that fucker even if he was rich) and found the Sultran RS. I forgot to keep it and save it but at least I know where it spawns. The game just keeps sucking hours of my time it is really addicting.

But you need to have all of the islands unlocked; I tried going there in a boat and automatically got 6 stars, which is how I got the achievement, just ride around in a boat in circles while the police chase you.

I chose PlayboyX he's just so annoying, not only do you get his penthouse, but you get claude's outfit from GTA3. For killing Dwayne you get his shitty apartment, I don't know what else though

Nothing happens if you let them all live, or even die. If you let them all live they become strangers, but you don't need them to achieve 100% completion so don't worry. If you kill them they don't show up as strangers, doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters is at the end when you have to choose wether to work with Dimitri or get revenge. Also near the end you will find the man that betrayed you and your friends, if you choose to kill him Niko will basically turn into this man that thought revenge wasn't good enough, But if you let him live Roman will be happy and Niko will have the satisfaction of knowing that the man that betrayed him will forever be suffering

I found out where it spawns in multiplayer, its behind the garage in alderny in the old house way up north. The car is covered in brush though so you will have to go to it

I just discovered possibly the most addicting thing in the game!! Basically you go to the helicopter tours place (or whatever has a ladder and water and people by said ladder/water) and stand by a worker near the water. Walk into him enough to push him into the water, then go wait by the ladder. He'll swim over and start climbing up. Now what you do at this point is strictly up to you, but my favorite thing is wait for his head to pop up, target him, and kick him in the face so he backflips and falls back into the water. You can repeat this up to 10 times before you kill him.

San Andreas had better music. I fucking hate the radio stations on this game. I can't listen to one song without it bein interrupted by some stupid advert about gays or something. I GOT IT THE FIRST TIME GUYS. AMERICA IS CORRUPT, HAR DE HAR HAR.

Tell you what else I hate on this game- FOLLOW THE CAR missions. Y'know, the missions where you just have to stay a certain distance behind someone for about A WEEK, then if you crash atall THEY GOT AWAY, START AGAIN. Fuck. It's like the water levels in Mario. Nobody likes that shit, why is it still there? This isn't the type of thing I look forward to when I play this game.

And on the decision: I shot Dwayne. I couldn't decide at first, but Playboy X said he was workin his way out o the ghetto so he could be somebody, while Dwayne was some gangster fool who was thinkin o killin himself.

Don't worry about it too much. The other Grand Theft Auto games just allowed you to gun it everywhere, so driving isn't actually much harder. You just can't go top speed for everything, which is very easy. If you need to get there quick, just take a cab.

People were making out the bank heist mission to be the best mission ever; I didn't really think so. All you do in that mission is kill a lot of police, and if you ever died it would really suck because you'd need to start all over. It wasn't really as epic as everyone was making it out to be.

I like the game GTA IV more than the other installments, but I have to say the storyline for San Andreas immersed me more than this one. I don't know if it was because it was longer, the place was more spread out, or the characters were simpler but something about it made me enjoy things.
In IV kept getting confused about how I met who and why I was going to meet someone. I might have done things too quickly, but I just didn't like how much the missions overlapped each other. Sure, when something important required you having missions for several people done, it would basically wait until you finished it, I didn't like how there wasn't much order. San Andreas pretty much made you do things in a very linear, time coordinated way. You helped Big Smoke do this because Ryder had just done this, or Sweet had done this. In IV there were points where there were upwards of five people expecting things done for them. I realize there is no time limit, but it feels a little overwhelming. Freedom is what you'll argue I guess, that you have the freedom to talk to whoever you want whenever you want, but I didn't like how unconnected it made somethings. With the linear path, each person would know what happened in previous missions, whereas Francis would mention something I did ten missions ago because I'd been doing this for Packie. It got confusing.

Well call me when your head isn't up your arse" and then you lose fucking rep. That pisses me off.

I still think Niko is the most likeable character, though. Like the mission you do for Brucie where you steal his friend's Comet and race with it, Niko calls him out on being a steroid junkie the whole time and basically makes a huge joke out of it, while CJ would just be like, "okay, I will do whatever you say regardless of how badly it will affect me".
Also, this game engine allows Niko to actually have stuff happen with real pedestrians n shit, but San Andreas was just like, you bump into someone and nothing happens. Like, I shoved some chick out of line at the hotdog place and ordered mine, and stood there, and she was like "apology accepted" so I punched her in the back of the head when she was ordering and this guy nearby called the cops.

And honestly, I'm 55% through the game and I only recall 2 or 3 "follow the car" missions, true there's plenty of "chase down and blow up the car" missions but they're not hard. If you chase long enough the car eventually pulls over and they get out and shoot at you, but those missions are still pretty fun.

I don't know about the Radio Stations. I listen to Liberty Rock, Integrity 2.0 and Radio Broker and whilst they play the same songs all the time and could have had a larger selection of songs I don't think they're that bad. I quite like them, I stay away from the rap stations though.

My favorite radio stations are Vladivostok FM, Liberty City Hardcore, and PLR. Integrity is pretty interesting, and I still think Lazlow is hilarious. Yeah evading cops is easier, and the whole "Don't go into Pay N' Spray is a cop sees you" gets pointless after you find out you can just speed past them. The addition of the red/blue circle is making it easier too. But several other things make up for it.

Oh there's loads of following missions. I can think of three off the top o my head that are just bikes, which are the most annoying. Because you have to go pretty fast to keep up with these guys, but going pretty fast on a bike means that you're likely to come flying off it. Then you have to wait til you stop rolling and run back to the bike before you fail the mission, which is guaranteed at that point. I was on one yesterday where I was going down an alley pretty slowly, then found myself driving up a wall and slowly falling over backwards, then you have to get back on the bike and reverse round a corner slow as fuck. Just when I start going again it's like MISSION FAILED START AGAIN. That might not be so bad if every following mission didn't take about ten minutes of driving within a stupid margin of speed. It might be allright if you could just shoot them, but any AI in a following mission suddenly becomes the fucking terminator.

You eventually get a 100% likeness if you go out with them, Jacob likes to play pool so do that with him. But no you don't need to have good relationships to progress the story... Unless its Kate(which I don't think you necessarly need to have a good percentage to continue the story... Just take her out once..)

Just fuck around for a bit, Highway, and someone will call you. If you have anyone to do missions for already do those, if not then wait. Don't worry, the only thing that halts missions is other missions. Percentages mean nothing beyond the perks you get from them.

Also, I had no idea you could actually date internet chicks. I'm about 76% done the game and I've never even tried.

I had trouble with this one too. There's a ladder around the back of the hospital, and so I parked a van outside of the hole in the fence near it, and climbed up, took out the two guys there, then cleared the coke room with a grenade.
Then, when the police come, they're kept busy by the gangsters you didn't kill, and you have to run into the room with the med-kit, and jump up onto the wooden spindle on the floor, climb onto a beam, and then carefully walk to the window and jump out, before riding your van to safety (I used a Pay N Spray).

A good idea would be to practice the spidle-beam-window section before getting the coke.

If you killed Playboy X you'd have gotten his pad and Dwayne as a friend who can supply bodyguards. Now you just get $20,000 and his dump of a flat.

Ah I see. The method Ive been using so far was to jump into the harbor when the cops show up, and swim to the other side of it. The problem is that I end up wounded from the police boats, and then have a huge standoff in the warehouse that you have no choice but to run into. I always get killed in there after a few minutes.

I have to say, that this mission has the best level deisgn in a game recently, because it gives you the freedom to make your own exits and entries. Thats something Id like to see implemented more in future games.

I've played it on both and I have to say it's much funner on Xbox (probably just because that's what I own).

It's so shit when sites do that- Like tell you which game looks better. I mean first off it's not that hard of a decision to make on your own anyway. All you have to do is look at them. The only real difference is like the colour of the sky anyway. And it allways does boil down to colour.

Hmmm the lighting seems more saturated in Assassin's Creed on the XBox 360 console, although the reds in Call of Duty 4 for the Playstation 3 appear to be much redder than those on the XBox 360. How would this effect my gaming expirience I wonder. Aw my christ.

Dere, just get a fast car (sports/super) and go to the runway at Francis International. You get 4 stars on you, but they tend to avoid the grass in the middle of the runway where you jump over all the yellow ramps, so as long as you don't flip, you should be fine.

Only trouble is, the achievement seems a little glitched. I could have sworn I got a few 5 roll jumps in before I finally unlocked it.

Simple leave a motorbike by the back door, and go through the front door, kill the man by the first door... and then let the other two leave and, go back out and go by the side of the building until you get to the road to the motorbike... then simple chase the last two and its over, There are several scenarios for every mission you can do

Also, for that mission, I quietly knifed the guy in the security room, walked back into the room, positioned myself in the doorway between the 2nd and 3rd guy, shotgunned the one getting the lap dance and his guard, switched to my AK, and quickly took out the 2nd guy as he ran towards the front door.

Simply Kill the man with any gun and walk through the front door in a shootout, or But out a window and jump out. Or knife the guy and walk out the front door (no one will know he's dead) or jump out the window... I stabbed the guy and jumped out the window, I felt like mission impossible for some cool reason.

On a side not I am currently trying the liberty city minute achievement. I have already done 25 missions in 2 and a half hours

Haha, my friend was doing that mission and put down the controller to get a drink, so I switched to grenades and chucked one at the lawyer's head.

Hilarity ensued.

I beat the game in under 30 hours pretty easily. If you are running out of time start using taxi's to move around the city and skip the driving scene. It saves like 10 minutes every mission.
