The newest result of game writer/director Suda51, the genius behind amazing game known as Killer7 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer7). I've had a hardon for this game ever since I heard about it and like a bad reaction to cialis my hardon has yet to subside.

No More Heroes is a good ol' fashion beat 'em up style game that follows Travis Touchdown, a punk/japanophile/pro-wrestling fan who aquires a beam katana from ebay and in an attempt to impress a hot girl with it manages to kill the #11 ranked assassin known as The Drifter. Killing the drifter ranks Travis as the new #11, and after some pressure from the hot chick (who turns out to be an agent with the Universal Assassination Association) he decides to fight his way to #1.

Things happen fast. Once you start the game you don't get a chance to catch you breath untill you win your next match. Combat is so slick and fun I'm not sure if cutting people in half will ever get old. Instead of making you weild your Wiimote in a sword like fashion which so far hasn't worked quite right yet (i.e. Red Steel) the motion controls are used for executing the finishing blows and the wrestling throws. So you button mash and give a flick of the wrist and are rewarded with a fountain of crimson goodness. Pointing the Wiimote high or low lets you mix things up which comes into play greatly during boss fights where timing and finding an opening become key. It's so seamless and smooth that it caused my roomate to remark that all video game swordplay should be this way.

Fighting mechanics out of the way this game is a delight on the eyes and ears. From the comic book look of the graphics to the hilarious dialouge and even the little quirky touches such as using the toilet to save and using the wiimote speaker as a cell phone you can't helped but get sucked in.

If your like me and you loved Killer7 then this is a absolute must have. As superficial as the plot may seem there is a lot more going on than it seems, I just don't want to spoil it. If you love beat 'em games this again is a must have, hell I'd even say if you own a Wii (it is an exclusive) it's a must have. The only people who should steer clear would be those easily offended by naughty language, massive bloodshed, and prudes.

I'd heard the name mentioned a few times but was reluctant to research it. After viewing the gameplay video that you posted I think I'm definitely going to get this game. As long as the sword controls aren't as stupid as the Prince of Persia sword controls.

I've NOT heard of the game before, but watching that trailer, I wish I had the money to buy a Wii... Damn.

Killer7 was probably one of the worst games I've ever played. It was gltichy, jerky and had some plot line that I didn't even try to follow.

I really did not like this game at all. I'm not one for the cartoony graphics that this game had. I played the Playstation 2 version though, maybe the Wii has some more additions that make up for its shortcomings.

I just beat it yesterday; wow, The Real Ending is so awesome and hilarious.

The game is ridiculously fun, and no, cutting people up never gets old, just wait until you get the Type III Beam Sword, it's range is unbelievable. Playing this just made me want to play Killer7 again, so great.

No, no, no, no, and more no. The game is not glitch at all, unless yours is used. PLEASE pick the game up again. Just beat the game through once.

Were you born retarded or do you have to work at it? We're talking about No More Heroes which is exclusively for the Wii. This isn't about Killer7, which yes have a ps2 version, but also came out 3 years ago.

In any event, No More Heroes plays nothing like Killer7. If you had issues with it's gameplay No More Heroes makes up for it in a big way, at the very least it's worth a rent.

If however you were a fan of Killer7, by that I mean you get it for what it really was, the same genius is still present in No More Heroes.

This game seems like a pretty obvious buy, but why isn't anyone mentioning the shit parts? I just saw this review on IGN, right- Apparantly you die if you get hit once. Then there's no Retry, you get kicked out and have to drive to the mission again.

The overworld looks like something from a PS1 game. You can run into and around pedestrians and do what you can to try to make them react, but they just don't. They just walk indifferently. Considering it's supposed to be a funny game, I can't believe they've made these civillians so inanimate.
The cars aswell; Y'know like in really old games, when you drove into cars, you stayed on the driving animation but just stopped going forward? That's what this game does. You can't really crash, you just stop accelerating. The other drivers don't seem to react atall.

This is what I'm getting from videos, reviews n shit. Why does nobody ever mention it though? You spend like 40% of the game in the overworld.

The overworld is pretty forgetable. I see it more as a fancy way from going from point A to point B, like Hyrule field with more traffic. That and it gives you a break from the balls to the walls action.

You're only part right about the getting hit once and dying missions. The ones were you can only take 1 hit are just bonus/challenge missions which you just go to anytime. So far most of the other assassination missions give you full health and range from defeating one main guy, killings hoards of guys, only using wrestling moves, etc.

Only reason to wander around the overworld is to collect t-shirts hidden in dumpsters and golf balls used for getting special moves. The golf balls show up on your radar so you don't have to wander aimlessly just to find 'em. I got no problem saying that the overworld is the worst part of the game but it's not so bad I can't have fun.

This game made me tingle when I saw the trailer, good to hear it's not a failure like Red Steel.

I just got it today, and it does not disappoint. I'm currently at Rank 9, I would be playing it now but I'm supposed to be writing an essay. The combat is so fucking awesome. The only bad thing is the odd jobs that must be completed to earn money for the real shit. It isn't that they aren't fun, it's just that the ranking missions are so much fucking fun that mowing lawns and gathering coconuts is a bit dull in comparison. I find myself trying to take my time during the ranking missions before the boss fights because I don't want the fun to end. I certainly don't regret buying it though.

One of my favorite cutscenes, mainly because of the dialogue after the level stats.

Assuming you mean Shinobu, that was the easiest one in the entire game. Holly Summers is very frustrating at first, I had an extremely difficult time getting a hit on her.
