This is the greatest game ever made, and I would just like to take a moment to thank our Lord Jesus Christ for inventing EA Skate, amen.

Seriously, I love this game. I've been waiting for a good skateboarding game for years... basically since I started skateboarding in real life about 6 years ago. It's better than Tony Hawk in every possibly conceivable way. It's got better pros, better controls, better graphics, better music, and better physics. I find myself playing this game for hours (which is weird because I hardly ever play video games) and neglecting some responsibilities. I've been late for work because of this game. Sometimes I'll spend 45 minutes trying to land one trick and make it look good. This is definitely the closest simulation to actual skateboarding ever. The controls are amazing. Everything about it makes sense. From kickflips to noseblunts, everything feels so natural. I was a huge fan of Fight Night, so I was glad to see similar controls for Skate. I've downloaded music just for this game, everything sounds awesome while I'm playing.

I can't express my love for this game enough. I'm completely neglecting any other game I've bought in the since I got Skate:

Halo 3
Assassins Creed
Call of Duty 4

All collecting dust in their respective boxes.

This game is almost perfect. There is very few problems I have with it, and the ones I do have are just be being a faggot. Things that could be better:

Lip tricks are hard
Carving in pools is also hard
Flips are too easy
Ridiculous tricks are way so easy while some simple tricks are extremely hard
There should be some movement while in the air on big gaps (arms flailing or something to make it look more realistic, and some umph on the landings)
You just go too high sometimes :indiff:
Switch should be harder
Freeskate for multiplayer
They should implement a Halo 3 style replay editer, because that would be FUCKING AWESOME

but I guess I'll just have to wait for Skate 2 :frown:

What do you love about Skate?

I found some of those "Own the spot-thingies" took me hours to complete, and there are a few missions that are very hard, I lost interest about a week after release. I think I'll give it another chance sometime soon.

I beat the game more then 2 months ago, I've just been freeskating.

I've had my eye on it, but I haven't bough it yet. By realistic do you mean, the gaps are actually possible in real life. Cause some of the gaps on THPS/THUG/THP8 are a little too farfetched.

Actually the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was the most realistic with the gaps :indiff:

The Big Black challenge is ridiculous. It may only be a flip onto a grind but they are the hardest ones to go into. Not to mention the controls flip around for goofy stance. He say's its the perfect ledge? My favourite things to do are the sponsor videos/photos. I love editing them in the editor and getting some clean realistic clips.

I guess. If it's too high (like 20 feet or something) you won't be able to land it and your legs give out, unless you land into some kind of transition.

That challenge took me like an hour to do, luckily I'm goofy. The ledge is pretty fun though. I always try to get the best pictures I can, because the perspectives are usually really cool looking (for the most part). I used to try to get really good videos, but I realized it's impossible for it to look good and complete the challenge. But it's fine because you can just edit replays whenever you want without having to complete anything.

Yeah but when you fall over, you just glide around the floor like an eel covered in lube.

I played the demo a few days ago, it was pretty fun. The graphics were amazing and the controls were great. But I've been playing Tony Hawk for my whole life, so it took me a while to get used to having to hold down the right stick to ollie and such. Still a great game though.

An awesome game, the day I played the demo was the day I made sure I had enough money to buy it.

My favorite spots are in old town, because there are a TON of gaps that are perfect for my 180 laserflip to blunt combo. What's everyones favorite trick combos?

I played the demo of this game when it first hit the Xbox Marketplace and fell in love. When it was finally released I went out and bought the damn thing. It hurt me to say it, but it killed Tony Hawk. I even gave the new TH game a chance too, its just after playing Skate., it was crappy and annoying.

Neversoft is seriously going to have to raise the damn bar on the next game in order to truly compete against EA's Skate., because I"m sure if EA makes a sequel, its going to be 100times better. Can't wait!

Oh and its not the best game ever made.

All I got to say is avoid the PS3 version if you can. It has a noticeably lower frame rate than the 360.

Is it on WII or PS2? I have been looking for a realistic game like this ever since i took up real skating.

Beats the fact that the Xbox' tiny analogue sticks make tricks awkward to perform.

Is it on WII or PS2?

Sure isn't.

"Skate It" is being released for Wii and DS though.

I think that might be a little awkward to play, I would rather have skate 2 on the 360 or something instead.
