I went to go play Halo 3 just now and it says the gamertag "HolocaustTits" is no longer allowed. Well, that sucks, right? It gives me an option right below that says "change gamertag". I select this. It loads for a minute then tells me to sign into Xbox LIVE before using Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Hmm... alright, I will. I select "sign in" and it loads for a second. Then tells me again that my gamertag is no longer allowed.
So basically the situation I'm in is that I cannot sign into my account because I need to change my offensive name. However, I cannot do this because to change my name I need to sign in. Bit of a catch 22, eh? Well, fuck you Microsoft.
Kick in the nuts is that I didn't get a single warning from Microsoft to change my name or it'd be banned.
I'm planning on calling support in the morning. I better not have to buy another $60 Xbox LIVE account, or I just might sue.
Advice? Complaints of your own? Plots to commit murder?

You shouldn't have named it HolocaustTits in the first place.

I had a feeling it'd be rejected and it was a joke pick at first, as I was with friends at the time. Then when it was accepted I thought, "That's fantastic!" and kept it. Literally every match I joined on any game there were comments, and 99% of the time they were very positive and people laughed about it. Sure I had a single time on Gears of War where I was booted after a kid said "Wtf, you fag that's a gay tag", but that was my only negative response in a game.
You'd think at least if they'd let me use the tag for a whole month without any problems I'd at least get an e-mail telling me to change it.
Have fun saying "HolocaustTits" over the phone to some girl at Microsoft tomorrow.

Couldn't download anything M rated, unless I made a Silver Account to do the downloading. Then I can log onto my name and use anything it downloads. Annoying. But it works.

It's not like she'd understand it anyway. The last 3 times I've called Xbox Support I've been almost totally unable to understand anything they say. I realize it's easier to outsource jobs to India, but could they at least find people with a decent grasp of the language?

I had payment issues and to change/redo my payment method I needed to sign on to Xbox Live, but I couldn't sign on to Xbox due to those payment issues.
I ended up calling support but don't rely on it. It took about one hour to get something as simple as clicking a few links on the xbox website due to holding, the support actually hanging up and me having to call again, support asking for every little detail that they may not have needed, and then not understanding the words I spoke or me not understand what they said.
Try e-mailing, it may take longer but it's a hell of a lot more usefull.

Maybe if he tried to break it up, like holoca-ust-its say it is latin.
Oh by the way, I second the no sympathy for picking such a dumb name in the first place.

In Spain Microsoft support is run solely by South American immigrants who more or less speak a completely different language to European Spanish.
It's hard enough speaking English with them, but when I got my Spanish tutor to help out it was nigh on impossible. She could barely understand what they said. Pretty ridiculous.

E-mail them. Or log on to xbox.com and see what you can do there.
Either way I wouldn't imagine you would have to pay. Even the for the 800 microsoft points it takes to change your name.

Once my internet went down for 12 weeks (fuck Orange Broadband), coincidently it was the day after I re-newed my Live Account. A few weeks in I was looking for something new to play so I took my HDD to my friend's house, signed in on my Gamertag, purchased some Microsoft points, and then brought 3 Arcade games and some new songs for GH2. When I got home the games I'd purchased we're listed as the trial versions, and when I tried to play them I only got the trial. No Worries, I thought, I've had this problem before I'll simply take my whole 360 to my friend's house, HDD and all, and redownload the games there, as this method worked with something else before. However I had the same problem, trial versions of the games and no new GH2 content.
I cut my losses and phoned Microsoft. According to some obscure part of their Terms and Conditions, which they we're unable to quote me directly, it was apparently a violation of their Ts+Cs and I had commited an act thats completely "Un-Legal".
Ultimately I can play 1/3 games as the full version and the GH2 content works when I'm connected to Xbox Live. However the remaining 2 games will forever be Trail versions as my friend's 360 suffered the Red Ring.
If I we're you I'd send e-mail after e-mail. Try the Xbox.com Forum too, theres lots of helpful people there!

Murder won't do much, but you can always sue them for 5 million dollars (If you get what I'm referring to).
