View Full Version : Reviews of bands that you have seen live.
When I go to see shows, it's always nice to hear of others past experiences seeing them. I want to hear who you've seen live, and whether they put on a really great show, or sucked big time.
Some of the bands I've seen:
The Academy Is - Great show. They have great stage presence, and I would definitely see them again. William had a tambourine, and really got into play it. It was quite amusing.
Plain White T's - Not by choice. They were playing with The Academy Is, and I only stayed for about half the set. From what I saw, they put on a good show, but they're not a band that I like, so I left.
My Chemical Romance - I've seen them twice, and they put on an awesome show. The first show was back before they got really popular, and was definitely a whole lot better (and not crowded by 12 year old girls). Gerard gets so into the music, and it's quite the experience.
30 Seconds to Mars - The first time I heard them, was actually the first time I saw them live. I was hooked. Awesome stage presence, and Jared Leto is crazy.
Green Day - Amazing show. I'm not a fan of their new stuff, but they played a lot of their old stuff and I loved it.
Story of the Year - I'm not a huge fan of them, but I have to give them credit for this show. They did a pretty great job, and sounded quite similar to their recorded stuff.
Brand New - One of my favorite bands, but I must say that their show sucked ass. The show was in a smaller venue, which I was excited about, but seriously everyone was just standing still. They played all their newer slower songs, and their was no energy. We ended up leaving and I was rather sad.
I know their are tons more, but I can't seem to think of them right now.

The Strokes - were good.

Peachcake - Fucking crazy as hell. They wear animal asks and have all these ridiculous props. When I saw them play there was only about 9 of us there (they were openers for a series of bands) so we played duck duck goose during one song and started a conga line during another. They also threw confetti on us and we all took part in a group hug.
Desole - Good show. A lot of energy. Nothing phenomonal about it but it was entertaining none the less.
The Panic Division - Great energy but their constant changing and losing of band members takes its toll on the show. They can't do some of their older songs which is a bummer. Still really good live though.
Kids in the Way - AWESOME. They perform really well and they know how to handle a crowd. When some kids got into a fight halfway through a song they kept right on playing.
Common Market and Blue Scholars - I figured I should review them together since they always play together. I've got them about 4 or 5 times since they're a Seattle band and come to a nearby town about once every few months or so. Amazing live. Great energy, great DJ (they have the same one), and great covers/remixes of classic songs (mainly Common Market who has done Come Together as well as War Pigs). These guys never disappoint. They're also really cool guys themselves, always chatting with fans after shows and signing stuff for you. Expect to hear more from them. They've opened for Kanye West and Common.
Kanye West - GREAT performance live. He has tons of energy and really pumps up the crowd. He does some impressive things, especially the orchestra he used for Diamonds by Sierra Leone.
Bouncing Souls - TOTALLY FUCKING AMAZING. The crowd was into it the whole time. As any great punk band should be, they had crazy amounts of energy and really get the crowd going. This concert was definitely a highlight.
Kill Hannah - Entertaining but they do things you'll either love or it. They'll turn on green lazers at the tops of their guitars and lights at the bottoms randomly during songs. Like I said, you'll either find it awesome or ridiculous. They love their fans by the way. They seemed really happy and shit.
Anberlin - Pretty good. Nothing special but it wasn't horrible or anything. The drummer is the most entertaining since he's tiny as hell.
Wu-Tang Clan - KICK ASS! They were pumped the whole entire time. The crowd was loving every minute of it and they seemed to feed off the energy of the crowd. They'll also pay tribute to ODB which is a nice touch. If you ever have a chance to see them perform, do it.
Panic! At the Disco - It was actually a good show. I was suprised. Highly entertaining.
Metric - Awesome. The lead singer and all her crazy dance moves definitely entertain.
Hawthorne Heights - Not a fan of them but they put on a pretty good show. They had nice energy.
English Beat - I have never seen a singer so goddamn likeable. The music itself will make everyone and anyone want to skank (40 year olds were skanking). Great show. Don't miss it. They might be your only chance to see an original ska band perform.
Blondie - Despite being in her 60's, Deborah Harry can still belt it. Blondie was, and still is, an amazing band and their live show proves that.
Steve Miller Band - Very disappointing. Time is starting to catch up with them and you can tell. It's not bad by any means, it's just not very good. They lack energy.
Kanye West - GREAT performance live. He has tons of energy and really pumps up the crowd. He does some impressive things, especially the orchestra he used for Diamonds by Sierra Leone.
I can second this. I saw him twice a few years ago. He definitely gets everyone up and dancing around.

CKY - Much better the second time I saw them as Chad (the lead guitarist) was so drunk the first time that the songs barely resembled anything they have ever released.
Bowling for Soup - I've seen these 3 times now, so they must be doing something right!

Gwar - Regardless if you like their music, the stage show is one of the best i've seen. They've got it all; executions, monsters, and you get covered in blood, piss, and shit. I loved every minute of it. CKY was supposed to open, and I was looking forward to it but their guitarist broke his foot at the gig before, so they didn't play.
Slayer - What can, I say it was fucking Slayer!
Dragonforce - Blew every band off the stage (Chimera, Killswitch Engage, He is Legend). They had this riser in the middle of the stage and each member would jump up, solo and then spin jump off. They did that for the whole show. Nobody even knew who they were, but by the end the whole crowd was singing along.
Flaming Lips - One of the most over the top extravegent shows i've ever seen. They gave everyone a laser pointer before the show, and at a certain spot the lights went down and we were instructed to shoot Wayne (the lead singer). He held up a mirror and refracted the beams out, so awesome. They also had confetti cannons and giant balloons, aliens and santas fighting, and a host of other weird/great things.
I've seen a ton of bands, but I only listed who i've seen within the last year.

They are also like 8 ft tall when in costume. I went in wearing a white shirt and when I left it looked tie-dyed from all the blood and fluids they sprayed on the crowd. The only thing that sucked was the next day the skin around my fingers was stained a purplish black and my pores looked like I had a million black heads. Took forever to wash it all off, still it was all worth it.

I saw the following at the Minnesota state fair.
Goo Goo Dolls Gotta say they really pumped the crowd up and played practically every song I knew by them and didn't lose energy at all.
Colbie Callat Came in during her performance. Meh, I only knew "bubbly" because it's played like everywhere up here. She was okay.
Life House I liked them the best. Theres just something about their energy that made me like them.
Interpol - The songs were performed flawless and are as gorgeous as on disc, but the band lacks that certain spark that separates "competent live musicians" from "unbe-fuckin'-lievable"
Radiohead - Now this was certainly incredible. The energy and emotion at a RH gig is something you have to see to believe. Both band and crowd feed off each other. I only got converted to their music when I was persuaded by my then-girlfriend to go see them live.
Queens of the Stone Age - I've seen them 4 times now, and their shows have ranged from «awesome» to «yawn-inducing». I just wish they were more regular.
Pixies - 3 times now; the setlist doesn't vary much and the songs are played pretty much as they were recorded on disc. However, they have enough stage presence to elevate their gigs into «legendary» status.
Tool - Again, 3 times I was in the audience. Maynard, the little reclusive prick, doesn't allow himself to be much seen during the gigs (He prefers to stand in front of a huge screen with no stage lights focusing on him). However, the songs, the delivery and the visuals more than make up for it. Great stuff
Monster Magnet - Saw them at a festival ages ago, opening for Metallica. The crowd were of the "die-hard Metallica fan" variety, so they started to give shit to the band: Throwing piss bottles on stage, shoes, booing loudly and relentlessly, etc. So Dave Wyndorf proceeds to call us every name under the sun while launching into a 20 minute-long rendition of «Spine of God» that made them go way over their allocated stage time (thus enfuriating the crowd even more). He stormed off the stage after hurling some more abuse at us and promising never to come back. Now THAT's punk rock!!

I'll stick to reviewing Alexisonfire for the moment since their show was one of the best i've ever been to. I'm a hugh fan of the band, so even the news that they were playing here made me massively happy, and they did not disappoint. George, Wade and Chris had so much energy in them it was almost unbelievable. Solid setlist focussing more on their latest album, which is by no means a bad thing. Most surprisingly of all was the quality of George's vocals, as usually bands that scream sound kinda shit live, his sounded almost llike the albums. All in all, incredible.

Coheed & CambriaMy Favorite Band
Great show and hugeish crowd.
Flogging Molly- GREAT show. Crowd response was freaking insane.
These were all at warped tour. These were just the ones I enjoyed the most.
I recently saw Vanilla Ice on his Australian tour. It was actually a pretty good show. His new music is the quality you would expect of an above average local band but his metalled up Ice Ice baby is very entertaining. He saved Ninja Rap for last which surprised me but the crowd did go a bit retarded so maybe he knew what he was doing. His stage antics will keep you laughing as he gyrates and pelvic thrusts his way around the stage which strangely looks like it was decorated by the halloween fairy gone beserk. Why was their a Goth Clown hanging from the ceiling?!? It made no sense!
Anyway, totally worth the 30 bucks

Upon A Burning Body - Great show, and it was a house show. I started to headbang and of course moshed with a couple of friends. Alot of pizza and of course Monster. Awsome show.
No Fear Tour - Again GREAT FUCKING SHOW. Killswitch sucked though. I didn't hear He Is Legend, but Chimera almost took the fucking show. Dragonforce is a whole diffrent story, they kicked ass. Also Herman got his hair caught on the bridge. I laughed.

Rage Against the Machine
Seeing them live was like a kick in the teeth. Powerful band, and they have a great message.
And when they performed killing in the name of dust rose and the white lights pierced through the dust making a cool effect. Apparently you could here "fuck you I won't do what you told me" from 3 suburbs away. Easily one of the best live bands.
Billy Bragg
Billy Bragg is great. Carrying on the tradition of left wing folk singers. He does what he does well and when he performed New England it was fantastic, and his witty humor and great stage presence was fucking rad.
The Night Watchman aka Tom Morello
Showing that he is just a great guitarist but also a great song writer and folk singer. Doing a cover of ACDC was good and his political spiel reminded me why I hate capitalism. My biggest query was when he linked up with Billy Bragg and bassist/lead singer and guitarist from Anti Flag, to perform a Midnight Oil song. As I both hate Anti Flag and Midnight Oil this didn't appeal to me at all.

Alexisonfire
Excellent vocals. Really good instrumentals. Well planned set. Amazing light show. Great energy. All in all, everything I was expecting and more.
Anti-Flag
They were alright. I'm not really a fan of their music but they did a good job getting the crowd excited.
Saosin
I really don't like Saosin. There isn't really a point in reviewing their show because it will be biased because I hate their music.

I haven't been to all that many but theres been a few good ones
The Red Hot Chili Peppers Fantastic set, so much energy, but Anthony never talked to the crowd for some reason. Also went with two of my best friends so that was a huge upside
The Academy Is... Sorry if I offend anyone here, but they were horribly lame! There first couple songs had me on my feet, but after that it all started to blend together and sound the same.
The Hush Sounds I'm really not a fan of "emo" music but I was very pleasantly surprised. Much more emotion then your typical mass-produced emo band, and the music sounded good as well. I got to meet the lead singer.
Gym Class Heroes Pretty good to decent, I did like Travis's rapping, but lots of the songs were pretty lackluster live.
Panic! At the Disco They were the headlining act for the four bands above, but I really didn't go to see them (I went more to hang out with my friends, truth be told) It was catchy stuff for sure, but it really didn't have much depth that I look for in a band.
Plain White Tee's I really only went to this concert because it was free with admission to a theme park. I think I might have enjoyed it if I wasn't sick like a dog. Pure 100% torture
There we have it, one good band I've seen, and six others that I didn't really enjoy. Looking forward to hopefully seeing Radiohead and the Flaming Lips over the summer, if I can get tickets.

Queen + Paul Rodgers at Hyde Park First concert I'd ever been to. Absolutely god smackingly brilliant. Electric atmosphere and amazing music.
The Darkness at London Alexandra Palace Absolutely fantastic although I collapsed half way through because of dehydration. That sucked.
Tenacious D at London Hammersmith Apollo The funnest concert to date, I think. They not only played well, they got the crowd going brilliantly as well.
Motley Crue at London Hammersmith Apollo Sweet JESUS they were good. Musical genius. Flame throwers and fireworks + incredible music = Motley Crue.
Aerosmith at Hyde Park The band were brilliant, everything else was not. It was pissing it down all day and the music wasn't loud enough for an outdoor gig. It was kinda disappointing but an awesome experience nonetheless.
Steve Vai at London Hammersmith Apollo Mind blowing, jaw dropping and generally fantastic. He got a stupidly long standing ovation and he seemed genuinely moved by it. I can't describe how brilliant he was..
The Police at Twickenham Stadium This holds the spot for number one concert ever. I have never felt anything like that and its quite sad that its not likely to happen again. They sounded just like they did, if not better, 20-odd years ago. Electric atmosphere and fantastic music made that concert my number one (followed closely by Q+PR).
Skid Row at London Astoria 2 This is a really small venue, making it far more personal. The music was awesome, the crowd were awesome and to top it all off, I high fived Scotti Hill. Third best concert ever.
Those are all the ones that stick out in my mind.

Muse They where amazing. I was lucky to be there as many people from the U.K and USA said that was one of the best set lists they had ever scene. The way Matt Bellamy gets into the songs is amazing and that guitar twirling is great. The atmosphere was great too. In Knights of Cydonia the whole crowd became one big mosh pit.

saw U2 live.
You can either love or ignore all the anti poverty stuff. The Edge is an awesome and underrated guitarist. They like to spend money on their lights and put on a pretty good show whether you like the music or not. Must see if ur a fan. Any more mainstream and they are a religion, but there is something almost spiritual about hundred thousands of people all singing "Sunday Bloody Sunday".
Also saw Mark Knopfler once. He's not so in with the band as he was with Dire Straits but still quick with the solos.

The Toasters I saw them in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the back of this small bar. There was less than 200 people, and it was awesome. They got the tiny crowd so worked up, and pulled people onto the stage (which stood about 2-4 feet tall!) to dance with them. It was awesome seeing a bad ass band like The Toasters live in such a tiny venue. They put on an amazing show. The crowd was wild, one guy had a three foot fall mohawk. Even after moshing, it only leaned slightly.
Cyndi Lauper It was for her acoustic album, and though she's older, she's still so energetic and fun. I had an awesome time, she's a wonderful performer, and an all-around cutie. It was amazing seeing people sing along to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" like they did. The crowd ranged from young kids to old women, it was awesome.
I have never really been to many concerts. I think The Pietasters are coming to my town in May, but I won't be there! Damn.

INSERT LIST OF SHITTY BANDS THAT I'VE SEEN WITHOUT ANYTHING REMOTELY CLOSE TO A REVIEW.
Oh so you've seen some bands isn't that nice. Try reading the fucking thread and using your fucking brain.
I saw Dream Theater play in Sydney on the 30th of January this year. Amazing show, watching Jordan Rudess playing an epic keytar/continuum solo was almost like watching my life being fulfilled right before me. They missed some of my personal favourites but considering they have over 9 hours of studio material the 3 hours that were given were some of their best pieces to date (Constant Motion is a brilliant opener).

Silverstein Jan 27, 2008 (Myspace Secret Show Canada) - This was my second time seeing Silverstein (first time opening up for Rise Against), and they were a lot better the second time, since the first time they played music mainly from their new album, which was expected. They played all the old stuff mixed in with only a few songs from Arrivals and Departures, which was welcome since they played stuff that I had wanted to hear the first time. And opening up for them were Theset, and local power house in Victoria, and they played a 6 song set, consisting of 5 songs that they had played in the past, and then 1 brand new one that was the first time heard from anyone outside the recording studio. All in All, I would have forked up the money for the show no matter how much it was, and it was free, therefore the final reason to put this show on my top 5.

Bob Dylan- His singing kinda disappointed me (but he's getting on in years, so I didn't have high hopes), but he did manage to create a good amount of energy. And by no means was it bad, but about a 3/5.

the offspring - first big gig i was at and it was awesome, shame they didn't play million miles away though
HIM - good atmosphere in the small gothic styled hall, sound quality could have been better though
cathedral - same gig as above, were pretty good
slayer - boring as shit
children of bodom - good show, alexi rules
in flames - awesome show, whole place was jumping
wintersun - brilliant, i'd only heard of them a few weeks before and after seeing them they became on of my favourite bands
amon amarth - viking metal, sweet!
millencolin - great band, weren't quite on their game when i saw them though
flogging molly - best live band ever! mega action in the crowd for every song
flogging molly - best live band ever! mega action in the crowd for every song
Damn you, I'd love to see them live!
NOFX Awesome. Unlike othr bands that have huge promotional banners and shit, they just had a 1 metre by 1 metre NOFX flag. They interacted with the crowd, made fun of 'em, had everything from shoes to joints to drinks to underwear thrown at them.
Mad Caddies Very tight show. The crowd loved them, and as they're pretty damn funky, the skank ring was in full force.
Lagwagon I saw them in a small venue, it was overcrowded and HOT. They simply played their set and left. Not much crowd interaction. I sweated out about a killogram that night.
It's the My Coke Fest festival soon. I won't be going. Too big, too commercial, and too metal. But bands like Korn, Metallica and Evenessence will be there.

These guys were fucking insane live, just like the audience. They got the crowd all pumped up and demanded circle pits and wall of deaths. Not to mentoin the awesome music :P

Rise Against: I've seen them live three times now, and each time they performed very well. They really got the crowd into it, (constant mosh pits) played their older stuff and their newer stuff. Overall, a great performance.
Foo Fighters: Again, I've seen them three times live, once with Bob Dylan (who mumbles like a mad man) and twice otherwise. Great stage presence, played their popular songs which was a good thing for the crowd who didn't know them very well. I doubt most people will remember their concert, I had people beside me giving me high fives and telling touchdown after every song.
Anti-Flag: One word, Amazing.
Billy Talent: Biggest dissapointment ever. Everyone can agree their first CD kicked their second's ass. Let's face it, no one cares about fallen leaves on the ground.

Billy Talent: I've seen them twice and they were fairly good. There was a lot of energy, but the pit was about half 13 year old girls, which kind of sucked. The singing wasn't quite perfect on some songs, but other than that pretty amazing in terms of music. They didn't put on much of a show though.
Anti-Flag: Fucking awesome. It doesn't matter if you don't like their music, you can still get really pumped and have a shit load of fun because of the energy they have. They jump around a lot and it's just fun to watch them, and they got the pit going good.
Tool: Ridiculously awesome. Musically, everything was perfect. The feeling you get at a tool concert is indescribable, they have all the movie-ish things playing on the screens, and they fit so perfectly with the songs, and you're just hypnotized by everything that's going on.

Here's a few of my all-time favorite performances.
Celtic Frost - May 2007, Irving Plaza, NYC: Simply amazing, probably the best metal concert I've been to. I was blown away how awesome CF performed their classic songs with a new modern sound. Great chemistry and flawless.
Tool - August 2002, Radio City Music Hall, NYC: You all know Tool by now, so all I say is if Tool's playing in your area, go to the show and enjoy the visual/aural spectacle.
Iron Maiden - July 2005, Ozzfest '05, PNC Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ: Good: seeing Maiden play with their classic lineup. Better: Having them play nearly all of their songs off their first five albums. Best: Seeing Bruce Dickinson sing "Phantom of the Opera" -- the band's greatest song.
GWAR - October 2005, Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ: Even if you don't like their music, you still have to see them for their off-the-wall stage show. I've seen them six times already, but this particularly show stands out because they were touring for their 20th anniversary and had a shit load of "celebrities" they killed.
Anthrax - June 2005, Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ: Absolutely historical show as this was the first reunion show of Anthrax's "classic" lineup (Joey Belladonna, Scott Ian, Charile Benante, Dan Spitz, Frank Bello). Sure it may've been a hell of a long time they all played together, but man, they gave it their best and gave a performance to remember. As a really cool extra bonus, this show was filmed for their "Alive 2" DVD which you can see my goofy ass in the mosh pit.
Marilyn Manson - August 2001, Jones Beach Amphitheater, Wantagh, NY: Absolutely fantastic show by Mr. Manson as he pulled no stops for his incredible stage show. From walking on spider stilts to rising 40 feet in the air while singing to hundreds of pyros going off, Manson knows how to entertain the entire crowd.
Exodus - April 2006, New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, Worcester, MA: It was 1985 all over again as Exodus tore Woos-tah a new asshole with some thrash metal goodness. While I would've loved to see either Paul Baloff or Steve "Zetro" Souza handle vocals, newcomer Rob Dukes did a wonderful job singing all the classic hits while the crowd loved every minute of their set.

A Matter Of Life And Death
Iron Maiden: Amazing in every way, shape and form because they're Iron Maiden and they fail at NOTHING!
Trivium: Brilliant opening for Maiden, Although most of the stuff they played was from The Crusade, they played a few songs from Ascendancy. I decided not to go in the circle pit during To The Rats because I value my life. Set ruined by the idiot who tried to sing along without knowing the words, and tried to air guitar to the solos whilst going, "Doo-dee-diddily-diddily-doo-dee-doo-doo."
The Black Crusade
Arch Enemy: Were fucking awesome. Loved every second of their set. Nearly lost my balls in a mosh pit during Nemesis.
Shadows Fall: I arrived half way through their set, and I had never heard any of their music before. They had a lot of energy and their stage presence was fantastic, It seemed only natural to buy their albums afterwards.
Dragonforce: *Typical stage intro with classical music begins to play.* Herman Li: "We think that intros like this are extremely fucking gay, and have chosen something different." *A variety of children's show themetunes begin to play.*
Also, what Android said.
Trivium: Same shit, different day, with some songs from Ember To Inferno thrown in.
Machine Head: Brilliant performance and lots of energy. The crowd went fucking psycho, and I'm highly jealous of the wanker that got up on stage and did a chugalug with Rob Flynn.

Bands im seen but too lazy to reveiw myself:
Brand New - One of my favorite bands, but I must say that their show sucked ass. The show was in a smaller venue, which I was excited about, but seriously everyone was just standing still. They played all their newer slower songs, and their was no energy. We ended up leaving and I was rather sad.
also one of my fave bands, they played at Brixton Acadamy but were actually early good. everyone was singing along and jumping and shit and it was a good night. the band were a bit up themselves tho, when they came on they were like 'hi, we're Brand New, you may not have heard of us' and we were all like :indiff:
but yeh the vocals were good and they gave us a good night out of it.
I'll stick to reviewing Alexisonfire for the moment since their show was one of the best i've ever been to. I'm a huge fan of the band, so even the news that they were playing here made me massively happy, and they did not disappoint.
Alexisonfire
Excellent vocals. Really good instrumentals. Well planned set. Amazing light show. Great energy. All in all, everything I was expecting and more.
woot, ive found two Alexisonfire Fans :cheer:
i saw them at a Southampton gig, and they really did beat all my high expectations. George and Dallas did such a good job vocally and in getting the crowd all hyped up, exactly as in the albums infact
i managed to get right to the front - as i know how george lieks his stage-dives - and he didn't disappoint. he dived in and we all mobbed him :D i touched him woot.
but yeh they played all my fave songs excellently
(Accidents, Waterwings, Pulmonay Archery, boiled frogs, drunks, lovers, sinners and saints, where no1 knows ur name, control, get fighted, No transitory, This could be anywhere in the World )and loads more.
excellent energy there - will no doubt go again when they come near :boogie:

Shit, some of you guys have seen some kickass bands..
Greenday - They were awesome, their set was almost 2 hours long. They work the show a lot, lots of flames shooting off the stage and strobe lights. My first show as well! awesome stuff.
MCR - They were alright, kinda sloppy.. Gerard looked like he'd just woken up, sounded like it too.
Good Charlotte - They were awesome, they played so much of their old stuff, barely any of their new "Good Morning Revival" album. The crowd went off when they did, mad show.
Kisschasy - They were only a supporting act, but they were really really good. Played with the crowd a lot, mad fun.
The Hot Lies - Supporting act. Nobody had heard of them at the start of the show, they weren't that good. Kinda flat, not loud enough, no energy.
AFI - Really really good, besides the screaming masses of 13 year old girlboys. Long time fan, they were pretty amazing. The crowd was so packed Davey pretty much walked onto it, was still able to stand up and sing. It was great.
Streetlight Manifesto - I'm a fucking huge ska fan, this was one of the best shows i've ever been to. They were supporting Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake. They had tons of energy, everybody thought they were absolutely amazing.
Less Than Jake - If anybody went to their show at Luna Park in Sydney, late 2007, I was the guy that got called up on stage in the Coheed and Cambria shirt and was meant to make out with that blonde who had the boyfriend. She hugged me instead, said her boy would get angry :( Awesome ass show though. Played great.
Reel Big Fish - Best show ever, definetly memorable. I've been a fan for years, since I was young. Lined up for 10 hours with my sis just so we could be front row. Totally worth it, they were great. Played with the crowd a lot, funny as. I'd definetly see them again.
Bjork - I'm not a huge fan, but she played a pretty amazing show. It was on the Sydney Opera House steps as well, which added to it. She has an amazing voice, the set she played was something around 2 hours. Apparently thats why she pulled out of Big Day Out, something to do with vocal chord damage.
I REALLY wanted to go to Big Day Out, there were a ton of bands I wanted to see there like Rage Against the Machine, Grinspoon, etc. Couldn't afford :( regret it.
I'm also seeing Coheed and Cambria on the 31st of March in Sydney, i'm not sure where or who's supporting. I've already bought tix though. Should be awesome.

Gym Class Heroes Pretty good to decent, I did like Travis's rapping, but lots of the songs were pretty lackluster live.
I saw them as well. They're ok. What hurts them is the fact that they "became big" all of a sudden so people really only care about freaking Cupid's Chokehold and maybe The Queen and I and Papercuts.
There's something about rapping to an actual band that makes it better though and it's pretty interesting to see. I really only recommend seeing them if you know their music. Kid Nothing vs. The Echo Factor is a great song but no one seemed to care because it wasn't their popular song.

Machine Head: Brilliant performance and lots of energy. The crowd went fucking psycho, and I'm highly jealous of the wanker that got up on stage and did a chugalug with Rob Flynn.
Wow, I saw MH on the Black Tyranny tour with Arch Enemy, Sanctity and Throwdown, and they sucked so bad, one of the worst performance I've seen. I'm not a fan to begin with but I expected so much better. Throwdown was kinda lame too. Arch Enemy should have been the headliners, they kicked ass all 3 times I've seen them.
I've seen lots of shows, here are some highlights:
Leaves' Eyes: great performers, Liv Kristine is such an amazing singer, I just wish they'd headline for once. I've seen them opening 3 times for bands I dont like, and we always leave after they're done (Bling Guardian, Kamelot and God Dethroned). But not before meeting them each time, they are so friendly and nice with fans.
Cradle of Filth: seen them twice last year, they kicked ass, Dani Filth is an insane performer to behold, how he can sing like that is beyond me.
Finntroll: not a fan, we went for kicks and it was just about the most intense show ever, the crowd was absolutely nuts for them, which we didnt really expect, and it made it so much more memorable.
The Birthday Massacre: small venue, small crowd, but they still gave it their all and it was a blast. Got to meet them too after, they were so cool.
Lacuna Coil + Within Temptation + In This Moment + Stolen Babies (I think it was called the Hottest Chicks in Metal tour or something like that): Probably the best line-up I've seen, where every band kicked ass, a rare thing. And got to meet both Stolen Babies and the stunning Maria Brink of ITM. (yeah I've met quite a few, I'm lucky)
Combichrist: Awesome, crazy performance. They were obviously having a lot of fun on stage.
KMFDM: seen them twice, they were great, but they need to shake things up a bit, both shows were practically identical except for the setlists.
Mushroomhead + Marazene + Human Abstract: Mushroomhead is just about my favorite band ever, so it was great to finally see them live, despite all the technical problems (at one poinbt J Nothing wasnt even singing but trying to fix his mic so Waylon had to do both vocal parts on a couple songs). What sucked is that Psyclon Nine had to drop off the tour because their bus crapped out on them, why couldnt that happen to Human Abstract instead. But I got to meet J Nothing after and he was cool, got fake blood on my arm when I shook his hand.
Dope + Twisted Method: this one was..... I love Dope's music but they were a bit too drunk (it was the drummer's birthday) so their performance was barely decent. During 'Burn' Edsel messed up the lyrics and he just turned to the guitar player like 'I just fucked up...' , but at least it was a fun show, just a bit of a letdown.
There's more, but that's enough I guess.

Let's see..
Deep Purple
They were great. Really got the crowd going.
G3 2006
Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and John Petrucci. Need I say more? Some outstanding guitar work.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
These guys were amazing. The set was awesome. Also as someone mentioned earlier, Anthony never spoke. I think that happened the whole tour.
Heaven and Hell(Black Sabbath)
They played all Dio-era songs. I had lame seats but it was still an awesome concert.
Guns N' Roses
This was the best concert I've been to. Right at the front of the mosh and it was amazing. Though at the start of it someone threw a bottle of water at Axl for being 3 hours late, so he stopped Welcome to the Jungle and then sang the next 3 or 4 songs really half-assed.
Motorhead
Another great concert. I would've loved to be in the mosh because it looked the the most fun ever.
Airbourne
A new band who opened for Motorhead. They may have even been better than Motorhead. If youve never heard of them I really reccommend you get some of their music.
And this tuesday I'm going to see Iron Maiden and next friday Velvet Revolver. Freaking awesome.
Two others have said it, but I'm gonna have to agree with them...
Red Hot Chili Peppers: They give off this great energy as they play, and they're so into it that it's almost like they're having sex with the music. They're jams, intros, and improv's are also great to see.

Coheed & CambriaMy Favorite Band
Great show and hugeish crowd.
Flogging Molly- GREAT show. Crowd response was freaking insane.
These were all at warped tour. These were just the ones I enjoyed the most.
Ooohhh, I'd LOVE to go to a Flogging Molly show.
Only concert I've ever been to was Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Fucking awesome. Their music always rocks, but there it was accompanied by a killer light show as well.

Porcupine Tree - 'Twas decent though they played stuff from their new album which is mostly metal and I preferred their progressive stuff. They only played a few progressive tunes but after that I wanted to kill myself.
Blue Oyster Cult - Riffic. Buck Dharma's still got his charming guitar skills. They really rocked the house just like they've would have thirty years ago.
Roger Waters - That was probably the sweetest show ever. Despite being ridiculously high, I had a pretty clear view of him and seeing one of the writers of the epic Dark Side of the Moon album play it all live was awesome. The lightshow was amazing too. Seeing the album covers' prism rotating above the crowd was one of the most mind-blowing things ever.

Muse in 2007.
While the band themselves were excellent, with a nice mix of popular and more obscure tracks, along with random jamming, the crowd were less impressive. People left in the middle of songs, talked on phones, looked entirely uninterested, stuff like that. I'd say the reason for this was that a lot of the crowd was only interested in Starlight and Supermassive Black Hole, two of the band's most popular songs. If you could ignore the frustratingly dull crowd, the performance was solid.

I saw The Dropkick Murphys and Mad Caddies yesterday.
Holy fucking shit.
Caddies were technically supporting, but The Briggs had opened (a fucking superb band in their own right with a brilliant and tight set) so the Caddies felt like the headline. They thundered in, bouncing the crowd off the walls and floor, and the skank pit was one of the best I've been in in a long time. their brass was tight as fuck, and that's really the only way to describe it. I expected them to simplify the brass for live shows but it was just as intricate and incredible as it is on the record. Weirdbeard was a highlight, as was monkies, whick got the whole crowd skanking, and No Way Home left you dumbfounded that they can pull of that fast a song live. All in all, it was incredible.
Then the Dropkick Murphys came in. The lights went out, and a traditional irish folk song drifted out of the speakers whilst the crowd started a left-right cannon of 'Let's go Murphys' which grew into a roar as they burst out of the wings and assailed us with the Boston Punk everbody loves so much. from that point on it was utter madness, a swirling mess of surging bodies, mosh pits and the occasional bit of skanking. My metalhead mate who's lived through Maiden, Slipknot and Slayer was utterly unprepared for it and got wiped out in the first couple of minutes, I've got somewhat more experiance of the punk mosh pit so i managed to hold my own but still I've got bruises all over me this morning. The call and return between the vocalist and the bassist was as tight as ever, leading to an unrelenting and constant rough and ready speed. Workers' Song was fantastic, and they got all the girls up on the stage for Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced, which was pretty cool. The best thing though was that they let us storm the stage for their last song Skinhead, which was absolutely mental. I didn't get up there cos I was helping people over and when it came to my turn the stage was full, but from the pit it was probably better anyway. It was the best gig I've been to in absolutely ages.
Avenged Sevenfold back in 2006 before they sucked. It was an amazing performance and my first big concert.
Trivium a year later which was pretty fun but i hate their new stuff because it's not heavy enough but Gojira who opened for them was amazing and i ended up seeing them twice.
I went to warped tour in the summer of 06 and hated it.
Job for a Cowboy, Behemoth, Gojira, and Beneath the Massacre all in one concert was the best thing I have ever experience in my life being that they were my favorite bands at the time.
I would say all the local concerts I've gone to but thats like 15 different ones.

Big D and the Kids Table are so far my favorite band to see live, seen them 3 times in the past 4 months and hopefully planing on seeing them again next month. The fucking circles they have at there shows go from easy going skanking for one song then next thing you know they throw on Girls Against Drunk Bitches and ever goes fucking wild.
The Stitch Up Dan Potthast new band, they opened for Streetlight on there new tour and the performance started out with Dan and a acoustic singing MU330 classics. Shit was really fun, eventually he brought people up on stage and had everyone play some of the set with him. So much energy and a great new band.
Hopesfall back before Jay Forest became the front man I saw them. Just as The Satellite Years came out, Such energy and my favorite hardcore-esk band. Not to mention the floor was crawling with people cartwheeling, left that show with a few bumps and bruises but I'll never forget it.
The Flaming Tsunamis are a close second to Big D with my favorite live bands. The only way to get a good depiction of them live is too see it with your own eyes. They are still fairly new so they play at smaller venues then most band and those are my favorite types of shows.
Last Saturday I saw:
Seether
Awesome. I only know a few of their songs, but they made me want to totally jam out. The lead singer came back out afterwards and played with Breaking Benjamin to do a Deftone's cover (Change In The House Of Flies) and it was pretty much amazing. I was psyched!
Breaking Benjamin
So much energy. They played a lot of their older stuff so I was totally stoked.
Three Days Grace
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. They played an equal amount of their old and new stuff, so I was quite pleased. The best part of the set was when they started playing Alice in Chains' 'Rooster'. I don't even know how they pulled that one off, but they did a pretty kick ass cover of it.
Then on Sunday I saw:
The Color Fred
Never heard of them until they started playing. Their songs seemed to be quite catchy, and they were pretty good.
Meg and Dia
I had also never heard of them, either. I was quite excited by what I was hearing, and they've definitely gained another fan.
Angels and Airwaves
They were good, but my husband and I were totally exhausted so we ended up leaving about 6 or 7 songs into the show. They played all the really popular songs, so we were satisfied (We didn't purchase the tickets, we won the tickets to this show and the show on saturday on a local radio station). Tom DeLonge is freaking weird on stage. The way he moves/his stage presence is just odd. Then he came out with lights on his hands and started waving them around. All I could think of was the sign language song in Napoleon Dynamite. Ha ha.
Iron Maiden - Wow! Just wow! It was from the "Somewhere back in time" world tour this year, and was their first time back in Australia for 10 years... It went off, they were so good.
I saw The Dropkick Murphys yesterday.
Holy fucking shit.
I'm totally jealous of this. Everyone I know that has seen them live has been completely blown away by their show. One day, I will go see them on St. Patrick's Day (since they're from Boston, they play here every year on March 17th!). I just need to muster up the courage, since I'm scared I may get squished or take a blow to the face. Ha ha.

I went to Soundwave Festival yesterday. It was awesome. There were a lot of really good bands there, but I'll only review three because I'm a lazy fuck.
Mindless Self Indulgence: I had never heard any of their music before so me and a friend decided to go check them out. They were fucking fantastic. Way better than I expected them to be, and the lead singer is just a natural entertainer. I swallowed and breathed in so much dust from the circle pits on either side of me :fmita:. If you ever get the chance to see them live, please do, you will not regret it.
Alexisonfire: Just beautiful. They played some of my favourite songs, and then some even better ones. I was right in front of the stage and could hardly hear by the time their set was over. Another fantastic live band. My only complaint would be that they should have had a longer set, but it was great all the same.
The Offspring: I wasn't planning on staying for their set but I decided to anyway, and I am so glad I did. They blew me away. I haven't listened to any Offspring for years and I still knew the words to every song they played. Hard, fast and awesome is the only way to explain it. Plus thrashing about, headbanging and singing along with my friends only made the hour better. Most fun I've had in a long time.
I've seen a lot of other bands live as well and maybe I'll get around to writing things out for them.

The only concert I have been to was a few years back; Greenday.
Greenday:
Damn good live performance. Even played old songs, but definitely played American Idiot alot, because it just came out.

This is just from last night:
Against Me! They were the first openers of the concert I saw. I was excited to see them, as I heard them mentioned many times as a good band. For the most part, I was disappointed. They had a couple good, fist pumping songs, but after a while it started to blend together, like most punk acts tend to do.
Serj Tankian I tried, I really did, to listen to his music with an open ear. Despite the fact I think System of a Down sounds likes a kid with Down syndrome screaming over generic metal guitars. I hated it. Not only was it pretentious as hell (Civilization is dying! We raped it!), but his vocals annoyed the crap out of me. Not to mention the fact that my younger brother at his first concert managed to learn a few new words from the douche bag (He mentioned his bands name was "Flying Cunts of Chaos at least 5 times).
Foo Fighters After all that, I was thrilled when the headliners came on, the Foo Fighters. I have never been a huge fan of them, but I did like their faster songs. I was very pleasantly surprised. They were just full of energy, with Dave Grohl running up and down the stage. Even my uncles friend who came with us, who has seen them 6-7 times, said he has never seen a more energetic show then this. Their sound was top-notch as well, with some really amazing guitar solo's and a nice drum solo (as well as a triangle solo). I was also surprised by how often the band talked to the crowd, Dave really has some great showmanship, getting the crowd to cheer and laugh.
If you get a chance, see them live, its worth it.
Ziggy St. Valentine

KISS - Saw them thursday night for my birthday. The show can only be summed up in 3 words: OH MY GOD! Just pure awesome. Gene and Paul still have it after all these years. Definatly the most amazing live show I have seen in my life. If you ever get the chance to see KISS live, do it. For some reason they had Vanessa Amarossi opening though, that just made no sense to me.
Ghoulz

Ozzy In Halifax NS.
This concert ruled. The amount of energy Ozzy still has is amazing.I almost had a heart attack when he started doing cartwheels. To top it off his voice sounded album quality even though he had a cold, top notch, amazing live artist. \m/
Ambutt

Paramore
I really don't even care for that band. Haley Williams does have an amazing voice though. They sure got popular very fast.
I saw Plain White Tees at Reading Festival last year, just after 'Hey There Delilah' became huge over here, and almost all of the crowd were blatantly thinking 'I hope he gets his acoustic guitar out soon'. It was painfuly obvious that everyone was there to see one song.
Red Hot Chili Peppers were of course brilliant, their music is just too good not to be amazing live, but I did get the impression they were getting a little tired, like other people have said, there was very little banter, other than a joke by Flea.
The best performance I've ever seen was Gogol Bordello, the gypsy band. When I saw them, they were playing during the day, which is always harder, and I hadn't heard any of their songs, but I loved every minute of it, they just have so much energy, and are that little bit crazy, which helps. It's impossible not to have fun when you see them live.
Dropkick Murphys Amazing. Crowd was huge into them (it was the boston St. Patty's day show after all) and I got to sing on stage. 2nd best show I've seen
Trace Adkins Love his music, show was a disappointment. Arlington was however the most powerful thing I have ever experienced.
Killswitch Engage Private show, all vip. Howie's first words were " either mosh or I'm not singing." Best show I've been to.

Foo Fighters
This was a few years ago but I still vividly remember it. I never really listened to much of their music, but a mate convinced me to go to the concert so I figured I might as well. Turns out it was awesome, they were the best band I've ever seen live, the songs they chose to do were perfect and they had the crowd going for the whole 2 or 3 hours. The sounded better live than they do on CD, I think it's awesome when a band can show they're just as good live without all the constant editing bullshit that goes on in studios.
30 Seconds to Mars
I only really like a couple of their songs, but I figured I might as well go along to a concert and see how they were live. I went in with fairly high expectations, those were soon destroyed. They were absolute shit, Jared Leto is possibly the worst live performer I have ever seen, his stage presence was crap and he couldn't recreate anything close to the vocals present on their studio albums. The rest of the band were pretty crap as well. Thorough waste of money.
Dragonforce
Was a cheap concert, and it's Dragonforce, so hell yeh I was going. Sadly I read alot of previous Dragonforce concert reviews and they were all pretty negative, so I didn't expect much. What I saw from them generally agreed with the reviews, I'm adamant that most of them were pissed off their faces for the entire show, which doesn't help when you're trying to play wickedly fast guitar solos. The sound setup was done poorly as well, creating a pretty piss poor show all round. That being said, I like their music and it wasn't the worst concert I've been to, just not the best either.
I would also say that The Hives are a great live band.
They perform in matching suits, which, although isn't the main focus, is funny and cool to see. Their lead singer Pelle Almqvist is also one of the best front men in rock; he's always talking to the crowd and trying to get them started. He'll scream stuff like "There's a giant monster in the city, and if this crowd doesn't get loud he's gonna kill you all." or random stuff like that. And they play great, too.

Doc Severinsen is the most amazing trumpet player ever, even at 80 years old. He recently moved to Mexico and retired for a day before joining two other players, a guitar and a violin. They formed a band called El Ritmo de la Vida. They played in Spokane with the Spokane symphony and our school concert and jazz band went to the show.
During the intermission the group i was sitting with were talking with the sound engineers and one of them offered to take a couple of us backstage to meet the band!! Of course we had to go. After the show we followed him back and met the rest of the band. The only other people back stage were the band members, stage hands, and a woman that sang with him on SNL 35 years ago. When Doc had changed and gotten ready to go out, we talked with him for a while and then got a picture and autograph on a program! By the time we got out and to the bus, we were at least 20 minuets late!
The name of their band, El Ritmo de la Vida, means the rhythm of life, a very fitting name for the group, because of the energy and ferocity they play with. This is a once in a life time opportunity, and I will never forget it. There is only 4 shows on his tour schedule, and the next and last one is in Minneapolis in July. Even if you could care less about any music that doesn't have an electric guitar, if you have an opportunity to go... GO!!!
The link below is to a performance 30 years ago, and in no way compares with a live performance with these Musicians.

I go to around 2 shows every week so I'm not going to name every band I've seen live, but I'll name a few. I am a big fan of hardcore music so I go to most shows for the breakdowns but I also like just regular, soft music so I'll point out the shows of these bands I have seen that I enjoyed.
Bright Eyes - Conor clearly doesn't move around much, but he doesn't miss a note in any of the songs and it's great to see his raw emotion
Brand New - Some of you have said you didn't like them live, but I really enjoyed watching them play. The bassist gets really into any song they play and Jesse's emotional voice gives me chills and let's me knows he's passionate about what he writes.
As Cities Burn - They are my favorite band at this moment and have been since a little after their new album came out. Seeing them live is great, especially seeing Cody spill his guts out on the microphone [not literally]. When I saw them they played their set and then Cody played the song "The Widow" with just him and his guitar and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
When I was younger I would always just go to hardcore shows no matter what, but now that I have grown up and matured more I have learned to love alternative music live as well

Pink: Her concert was awesome, she has an amazing voice and she didn't once during her performance not rise to the occasion. The dancing, the music, the drama. It was just material that blew me away.
Bullet For My Valentine: My first ever most pit/ live metal band. They were the sex. Matt Tuck made me wet. And the circle pits were awesome. The guys I went to the concert with were pretty hot as well, and they did some funny shit. The place were the concert was, was awesome too. It was a two story building. Meaning beer rained down from above... :D

Most recent show this past Monday,
Streetlight Manifesto- They were absolutely awesome. Towards the second half of their set I managed to get about a foot from the stage right in front where Kalnoky was. They had a ton of energy and sounded great. I regret not being able to see them in December before.

T'was just an innocent typo, but thanks for pointing it out.
edit:
ZOX- They opened for Streetlight Manifesto and were surprisingly good. They are much more alternative sounding than ska, and have an electric violinist which gave them a definitive sound. The past day or two I have been listening to one song called "Can't Look Down" frequently.

I saw them open for Flogging Molly and they were beyond amazing. The very end of their performance each member had a dramatic solo and as the drummer ended his he jumped onto his bass drum, sang "Her Majesty" by the Beatles as the guitarist played it and as the song is only about 20 seconds long he jumped back into the air and upon coming down to his throne the entire band struck the last note on time and it ended. it was brilliant.
Flogging Molly- Energetic live performance but could do better with crowd involvement. They were at the end of their tour so they were probably tired but they did give a hell of a show nevertheless
Angels & Airwaves- Worst performance I've seen by a large act. Worst.
Jimmy Eat World- Breathtaking performance. Precise, energetic, and great with a crowd of 10,000. I forgot how many songs of theirs I actually knew and couldn't help but sing along with their flawless performance.
Modest Mouse- Great on a record but live they were all just too drunk to perform and so I walked out. Sad story.
Mad Caddies- Easily my all time favorite band and probably the best live act I've ever seen. My first time I saw them they were piss drunk and doing shots on stage. The band was flawless but the vocalist was slurring too much for anyone to comprehend. Fortunately if the Caddies headline everyone there is a huge fan and so drunk and singing as well. When they released their last album and did two US tours I caught them 6 times and loved each performance. They know how to switch up their set list, play with crowd favorites, and how to get an audience going. If you ever have the chance I say check them out for their precision and drunkeness. The last time I caught them they played a flawless show and as I caught them off stage they were too drunk to form a coherent sentence. They have their act down to a science.
Deftones- Amazing act. Energetic, articulate, and able to improv nicely. Great music and great stage presence.
Cursive- REALLY great live act with great music. I can't brag about them too much as they weren't anything special, but they are a great band and can perform VERY well live.
Papa Roach- They hail from my hometown and can do an ok live act. Music isn't the best and their energy isn't all the way up there but they do an ok job.
Plain White T's- They are the one band that I was wrong about. I saw them on tour back in 2001 and said to all my friends that not only did they suck live, had horrible music, and had such a lack of confidence that you could walk on stage during their performance and no one in the crowd would notice. Somehow, through selling their souls I'm sure, they made it big.
Aquabats- I'm not exactly a cadet but this was one great show they put on. The opening acts were mediocre at best and didn't mesh well with the Bats style but when show time came the vibe was good. The audience were in costume as was the band. There was a wrestling match with some villains, they baptized a 5 year old and a 7 year old by having them crowd surf, powdered milk was thrown at the crowd and the energy was astounding. The only downfall was the distracting movie projector playing behind the band as they loved visual aids and the fact that the members are all up there in age now and seemed tired though eager to perform.
I've seen quite a few live shows now. I'll just review two of the most memorable.
The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster -Manchester Academy 2
It was 2002 and times were grim. Three of us came up with a grandmaster plan to relieve the stress of school (after all times are hard for 12 year old boys). We decided to buy the cheapest tickets for the band with the most obscure name, get tanked on White Lightening and chill to some noise in the world's tiniest venue.
We got to the place. We were all pretty wankered. And it was a dark, dingy room designed to hold no more than 75 people at a push.
Well naturally, we turned up late so the support band we're already on stage. We laughed as a screaming adolescent girl wearing a polkadot dress tried to portray her life story through the art of muse and a strange looking man who clearly did not have a clue how to play guitar begin torturing his musical instrument into submission. They were not a hit. They left the stage halfway through their second 'song' to a chorus of hissing.
Then The Eighties matchbox took the stage. A collection of freakish looking goths and punks silhouetted against a background of green strobe lighting began a quiet drumming beat. We had no idea what to expect. But as the venue began to fill to bursting point, and the heat became almost unbearable and it was becoming increasingly harder to breathe, we were hypnotised by their neo-punk sound. Guy McKnight (the lead singer), dominated the stage, sweating out his non-sensical lyrics to a heavy beat and electro guitar. Songs like 'chicken' and 'psychosis safari' heated things up to be contrasted with the haunting sounds of 'puppy dog snails'.
McKnight vomited several times into his hands and into a bucket just off stage only to come back on stage looking more terrified and confident than before. He finished the gig with a stage dive (naturally), during which I managed to steal his studded leather belt as a souvenir of a fun time.
Later that night, in McDonald's, sweating to dehydration in dry October air, we agreed never to see that band again. The End.

Marilyn Manson -Manchester G-Mex
This was amazing fun. I waited in anticipation in the pouring rain outside with can of Wife-beater and six Cadbury cream eggs (I'm pretty sure they make em smaller than they used to). Being a long-time fan of the lyrical and musical genius of the band, I was hoping that the gig would live upto my expectations.
I had a drink at the bar while the support band played. I cannot remember the name off the top of my head, but I am told they were quite famous. With the open plan design of the stadium, I managed to watch them from the bar. They were OK-ish, but the sight of an obese, balding, sweating, bearded man in drag screaming at the crowd was a bit off-putting.
It was a while until Manson appeared, and during that time I got to know the crowd. I met delightful group of young lads with shaved heads wearing combat gear who were persistently screaming 'Manson Sucks'. I met a couple of young bi-curious teens who were determined to steal my clothes. We had fun playing with an umbrella and attempting not to stare at the strange sadist transvestite who had his wife chained to his wrist by the neck while we waited.
Then a curtain dropped to Manson playing 'Irresponsible hate anthem'. The music was sheer brilliance, but the atmosphere of the whole gig was little dry. People, seemed a little unsure of how to behave themselves. Well, me and the army-chavs soon sorted that out and brewed a pit in no time. We danced and sang and bruised people's faces while Manson fed us an amazing menagerie of tunes from across his range of albums. He went through several costume changes, none of them quiet fitting his aging figure complete with beer-belly and painted face. He posed as Hitler while tearing pages from the bible. He danced like a provocative lap-dancer on a gigantic 3m tall chair. At one point a beautiful woman walked on stage carrying a tray of surgical tools during the hit 'Are you the rabbit?' who he danced around and with before tearing her arm and head from her body in a stunning display of special effects. The armless/headless girl than proceeded to strut off stage.
All in all a very good gig. I'd recommend watching, just for the fun if nothing else.

Dragonforce, Killswitch Engage, Stone Sour, Lacuna Coil, He is Legend, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, My Chemical Romance, Maroon 5.....
All were FUCKING INCREDIBLE except for maroon 5... =( and mcr was ok, i hate to admit it, but it was in hong kong, so all these fucking emo asian kids who are like 10 years old getting crushed and fainting in the mosh pit. sucked ass.
Man, you all have been to a lot of concerts. I have not ever been to one, no bands I want to see fucking comes to Louisville, because well, I guess we either suck, or they're just too cool to come here, not sure.
I remember last year or hte year before Angels and Airwaves were coming to Covington, which is about an hour away and came close to going but ended up not doing so. Mainly beacuse I didnt' have my license then and my friend(who likes them too), didn't want to go or something.
Oh and fucking Airbourne rocks.

Guns n Roses (after slash and stuff left...) While I'm sure it wasn't a *real* Gn'R experience it was easily the best concert I've been to... not really saying much though.... Axle still has it but I don't really like the emo look of his new guitarists...
Bon Jovi this year. He's still got it. Played some good songs. Average concert. Only concert I've been to where they didn't yell at you and stop the music and throw you out (in that particular order) for having your camera/phone out. Gay thing was that I had to sit in the seats because the standing area sold out by the time I decided to buy tickets.
Queens of the stone age Opening for Smashing pumpkins. They were actually better than the pumpkins. They actually played songs of theirs that were good, like 3's and 7's, little sister, no one knows etc. Which is more than I can say for the pumpkins. Also the whole "shoe throwing retard, i fucked your mom last night" rant by Mark Lenegan (after someone did indeed throw their shoe at him) had me laughing hard for some reason.
Smashing Pumpkins All I have to say to this is Very mediocre. Lame even. Maybe it was the fact that Billy Corgan was wearing a fucking dress. Or the fact that they didn't play cherub rock. Or the fact that he played an entire 20 minute solo on approximately 3 notes (he actually did, maybe 4 notes, I stopped counting after 2 minutes) and a whole buttload of effects instead of playing real songs that people like. Such as cherub rock. This performance made me stop listening to the pumpkins. Also I really didn't get why everyone kept leaving Billy Corgan by himself on the stage. He would then play something by himself, which was usually gay, until the rest of the band came back. On the positive side though, the acoustic version of 1979 he played was good, and I got to see QOTSA open for them.

Last Friday I saw Mushroomhead. I've just recently started listening to them, but they are already becoming one of my favorite bands. And then I went to this show last Friday. Wow. They blew me away.
It was one of the greatest shows I've been to. Ever. Just their stage presence is so amazing, and the songs with the water drums isn't just Stitch and Schmotz banging on drums. They have it coordinated so well. What really tested them is that they ended up being so good that the power went out on their 3rd song (12 Hundred) but regardless, the water drummers kept drumming and did a good job of entertaining the crowd while the venue crew were trying to get everything fixed.
The only thing I didn't like is that they mostly played stuff from Savior Sorrow. I would've loved to hear more songs from XX, specifically, Never Let It Go :frown:

I am really jealous at this point. I've been listening to them for like 2 years and when i bought Savior Sorrow i was really dissapointed. They had like 2 good songs off of that but XX and XII was amazing.

A short list with even shorter descriptions. Aka, whether or not they're worth going to see:
Mastdon: AMAZING. Seen twice. Definitely would see again!
Soilent Green: Put on one amazing show, and cover a wide variety of their music
Dysrhythmia: Simply amazing musicians. The fact that they don't have a vocalist, yet captivate you to keep watching speaks volumes about their musicianship.
Suffocation: I got the rare opportunity of having my band open up for these guys. They put on one brutal show, executed with tight perfection. Top notch!
Origin: Same as Suffocation. Got to open for them. Jaw-dropping musicianship, but the songs get boring after the shock of sheer speed wears off.
Cattle Decapitation: Excellent stage presence. The vocalist is a funny guy. Call him Al Bundy and see if he doesn't laugh! =)
Clutch: Jesus christ! If you haven't seen them live, you are MISSING OUT.
The Tossers: Oi oi! Irish drinking punk music! Good stuff.
Metallica: Amazing energy live. Too bad Jame's voice is going and they're starting to get a bit too loose sounding.
Skeletonwitch: About on par with Mastodon. Go see them. Now.
Anthrax: Fucking thrash out! Great show.
Cryptopsy: Good god yes.
Gwar: They put on some of the most elaborate live shows ever. Don't be fooled by their corny/funny songs. These guys thrash live.
Strapping Young Lad: HevyDevy knows how to rock. End of story.

Metallica: That was the first show I ever went to, and I really enjoyed it. The vocals just aren't the same as they used to, but at least they only played one song from St. Anger and the other 2-3 hours were all songs from the first 4 albums. The ambiance was also very nice.
Megadeth: They didn't play that many songs because they were opening for Black Sabbath, but they picked them wisely and it was just awesome.
Black Sabbath (with Dio): I didn't enjoy that, Dio just isn't entertaining. They only played slow songs and Dio never even tried to get the crowd going. I missed Ozzy on that night, and left before the end. I wouldn't even call that Sabbath...
Slayer: I waited in line outisde, sitting on the ground during a hot August afternoon just so I could be in front of the stage. When they opened the doors I ran in and waited. The lights went off, and they started playing Metal Storm/Face The Slayer completely in the dark. Not even a minute into the show, a huge mosh pit started and they didn't stop until the very end. They played a shit load of classics including Raining Blood, Hell Awaits, South Of Heaven and they finished with Angel Of Death.
Best show I ever went to.
Marylin Manson: I was there only because he played right after Slayer. I don't like his music, and didn't even really watched the show. I waited for the end because my brother is a fan and I didn't want to leave him alone. From what I saw I guess fans enjoyed the performance though. Also, he plays with his cock way too much. It got disturbing after a while.
I'm seeing Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Hammerfall, Dethklok and a shit load of other bands in June for the Heavy MTL 2008. I can't wait.
Creed: I saw them back when they were popular. I think they put on a pretty good show. Of course, it was a long time ago & I don't remember for sure. I would probably go see them again if they were still together.
Fall Out Boy: Honda Civic Tour:
Fall Out Boy: I think they put on an amazing show. I'm a HUGE Fall Out Boy fan though. I know a lot of people don't like them. I thought they sounded amazing & had good stage presence. I would see them 100 times over again.
The Academy Is...: I thought they were okay, but after the first few songs I got kind of bored of them. So, they're okay.
Cobra Starship: I actually liked these guys. I didn't know they're music, but by the time they were done performing I knew some of the words to each song.
+44: They were okay. I don't really like their music, except for a few songs, so I didn't really get into them.
Paul Wall: I don't even have anything to say about him. I don't know why he was at the concert. But I couldn't wait until he was off stage.
Ozzfest 2007: (I didn't watch all the bands. I mostly watched around for the whole day & saw the good bands.)
Lordy: They are the weirdest fucking band I have ever seen. I thought they were horrible.
Lamb of God: They were pretty good. I think they are pretty good live. But I don't know if I would see them again. I'm just not into them that much.
Static X: I never heard of them before, but I got into them & now I have many of their songs. I loved their performance. I would probably see them again.
& of course...
Ozzy: Ever since I was a baby my dad had me listening to Ozzy. To see him live was like being in a dream. He was awesome. I'm sure if I would have seen him in his younger years it would have been much better. Either way I love his music & I would go see him again anyday.

Dream Theater - Great band, amazing musicians, but really just weren't that great live. They played their songs perfectly from what I could tell, but they just weren't good performers in terms of entertainment. First off, Mike Portnoy was so fucking loud you couldn't even hear James; although, he was entertaining at times, like when he threw his drum sticks up in the air in the middle of a song from time to time. Pettrucci was just standing in one spot, pretty much the entire concert, bobbing his head lightly - wasn't really energetic. Jordan was fun at times, like when he did his keyboard solos between two keyboards. The two others were just normal - not really anything to say about them.
slayer - boring as shit
This is a joke, right? I've heard from dozens of people that they're one of the best live bands ever. And from what I've seen on videos, they definitely are.

Fantastic choice of bands to see live. I was planning on going to the Slayer/Manson (just for Slayer, I also hate Manson) concert in Cleveland last year but ended up not being able to.

Fantastic band, crap setlist, crap opening band, crap effects, crap ambience.

I went to go see Streetlight Manifesto. They put on a amazing show, but I almost got trampled to death becuase I fell. Zox played an amazing show, and Dan Potthast was an amazing crowd pleaser. I would recommend to go see them.

Three Days GraceHad a great stage attitude and payed well and played good songs they pumped up the crowd well.
Breaking BenjaminHave a great attitude on stage and talks to the crowd they were awesome.
SeetherThey playe really good but had no emotion almost. They just hunched over there guitars and played.
NeversetI don't really like this band at all and they were kind of annoying.

I recently went to Gigantour. The line-up was:
High on Fire - I really wanted to see these guys, but I got there too late and missed them. FORGIVE ME MATT PIKE!!!
Job for a Cowboy - Terrible. Just fucking terrible.
Children of Bodom - Better than Job for a Cowboy, but still pretty bad.
In Flames - Never expected much from these guys. They're were surprisingly decent, though.
Megadeth - Amazing. 'Nuff said.

So on the weekend I went to see Elton John. I wasn't expecting too much because he is quite old now but I was completely blown away by how awesome the show was. He played for 2 &1/2 hours, but he easily has enough hits to keep people watching for that long. He played all the hits including Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man and a cover of Pinball Wizard.
He was the complete showman, thanking the crowd after every song. He's an amazing piano player even though he has short stubby fingers. The only sad thing is, he didn't play any songs from The Lion King.

Blink 182 - I saw their last ever live show before they spilt up but this didn't affect the show at all. There was an obvious tension between Mark and Tom but I only noticed it when looking back at the show after the break up but during the gig Blink were amazing, they acted like they were best friends and the non-stop joking with each other wasnt missing. The sound quality was good but could have been better but it was still one of the best shows I've been.
Plain White-Tees I only went to see them because Cartel and Boys Like Girls were supporting them. I can honestly say they were one of the worst bands I've seen. I didn't enjoy them at all. They just seemed to be trying to hard and following two brilliant bands didn't do much for them. Also the lead singer was being a bit scummy, encouraging girls to throw bras on stage. I'm not a fan of that at all.
My Chemical Romance - I've seen them twice but the second time was a lot better than the first. The first gig was when they toured The Black Parade, it was a great show, but that's what it felt like, a show, not a concert but in saying that the second gig I saw was amazing, even when Bob and Frank were absent the band managed to hold it together.
Senses Fail - Another band I've seen twice and would see over and over. They have one of the best live shows I've seen. Buddys energy can't be matched and even when they were playing a tiny venue due to Alexisonfire playing the same night, they put on one of the best gigs I've attended.
Oh, I also agree with everyone saying Anti-Flag are a great live band, even if you're not a fan.

I saw the Family Values Tour last year.
Neurosonic: Wasn't good at all, couldn't really understand what the singer was singing. After the set, he proceeded to tell the crowd that he owned us. Right... The band that plays first, with no one in the stands to watch/listen, owns us...
Droid: Was actually pretty good. I don't really remember what it "looked" like but the music was okay.
Five Finger Death Punch: Just screaming after screaming after screaming. I didn't like it at all, and to make matters worse, the singer kept punching himself on the side of the head. It was just weird and uncomfortable.
Trivium: Pretty good. I'd never heard them before and it was pretty neat. Their cover of Master of Puppets was pretty cool too.
Flyleaf: I love Flyleaf, I bought their CD and everything but live, I think they sound terrible. It was much to loud to understand much of what was coming out of Lacey's mouth. What I did hear did not sound good. Pat the bassist was... interesting to watch. Looked like he forgot to take his Ritalin but was funny. So all in all, nice to see but not so nice to listen to.
Evanescence: I'd hear them 6 months before and this time around, Amy had a cold. But even then, they sounded fantastic and the sound was nice and clear. Amy moved around a lot, but that's pretty much all in regards to keeping our visual attention.
Korn: Fantastic. The sound was amazing, the energy was palpable, Jonathan Davis was perfect. Highly recommended.
There was Atreyu and Hellyeah too but I can't remember much about those, mostly because I thought they were mediocre.

Seether-Amazing performance even though they didn't play for very long. Shaun Morgan's voice sounded exactly like he does of the album. The band all played well together except for one little mess up , But all is forgiven .
3 Days Grace-Just awful.
Alice Cooper-It wasn't as good as i thought it would be . He didn't sound very good and he played the worst songs ever, nothing compared to his 70s-80s concerts.
Elton John-He was wonderful. Amazing voice, amazing piano .Overall one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life.
I've seen lots more but those are just the major ones.

I just came back from a Van Halen reunion concert and they fucking kicked ass baby.
I love the spring/summertime and the abundance of concerts.
Most recently, I have seen:
Takota: I had never heard of them until I saw them warm up for Third Eye Blind. They were amazing, and we even bought there cd from the lead singer when we saw him outside. I would definitely see them again.
Third Eye Blind: Awesome. I'm not a huge fan of them, but I totally danced the whole night and had an awesome time. I will say, though, that they are pretty freaking weird people. Ha ha.
Circa Survive: I'm not too familiar with their stuff, but man were they amazing! Lots of energy, and as soon as they came out, I had to move up a level because the floor was just one giant mosh, and I'm on the smaller side. I would have been trampled!
Thrice: Amazing. I was pretty drunk by the time they made their way to the stage, but they were sooo good. They played for a pretty long time, too.
Motion City Soundtrack: One of my favorite bands, so I was super psyched to finally see them in concert!!! They sounded perfect, and I totally jammed out hardcore. The only thing I was bummed about was that they played a pretty short set. I can't wait until they come back around again.
Panic At The Disco: The stage set up was extraordinary. Half the time they were playing I was looking at all the detail they put into the setup. They were pretty awesome live, and did an amazing acoustic version of 'Time To Dance'. I'd definitely see them again.
I'm bumping this for relevance.
Last Saturday, I saw Sing It Loud and The Spill Canvas. There were two other bands, also, but we chose to sit outside because it was extremely hot in the venue.
Sing It Loud: Pretty good. I had never heard of them before. Their songs seem pretty catchy, and they definitely have great stage presence. The whole time they were on stage though, we joked about how the kid playing keyboard looks like the guy who sings chocolate rain, and the rest of the band looked like Hanson.
Spill Canvas: AMAZING. This was the first time I saw them live, and I was quite pleased. They did an excellent acoustic version of All Hail the Heartbreaker, and gave us a nice pep talk about using condoms. Nick, the lead singer, was standing a foot in front of me while we were outside before they played, and I was pretty much just staring at him. I couldn't even say anything. Ha ha.

GWAR - Do I really need to explain why they were great? I mean, if you know who they are, then 'nuff said. I mean, they were spraying blood and everything all over the place. At one point, a month after V-Tech occured, they had the asian from V-Tech come out shooting everyone on stage saying things like "I LIKE FRIED RICE!" and they eventually decapitated him and sprayed blood all over the audience. Do I even need to mention the cuddle fish of cthulu?
Shadows Fall - Opened up for Gwar at Sounds of the Underground. Pretty good live. It started out in pitch black then the strobe lights kicked in and the singer, with his massive dreadlocks, were up there doing the windmill with the strobe lights and it was pretty friggin bad ass. They were a pretty tight band.
Megadeth - Fucking awesome. They played quite a bit from United Abominations but played a lot of old songs too like "Tornado of Souls" and "Holy Wars", the latter being the finale. Man, they were really really good. Dave was his usual kick-ass self, they had James Lamenzo playing bass and he rocked everyone's face, Shawn annihilated the drums, and Glenn was near flawless with his solos. I even managed to meet them by the tour buses and got to talk to them for like 15 minutes.
Rush - They've still got it. Geddy Lee can still sing, they can all still play, they even had a laser show, and the creators of South Park made them a special intro for "Tom Sawyer". My only small gripe was when they came out for an encore they played YYZ slightly slower.
Buckethead - The only concert I've been to where people tried to mosh to the Star Wars theme. There was a breakdancing Colonel Sanders at one point. But yeah, Buckethead is even better live than on cd or youtube. I mean, this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. At one point he was swinging his nunchucks around with one hand, playing guitar with the other (and not just doing hammer-on's in one spot) and doing the robot at the same time.
That 1 Guy - He made his own instrument, I don't really know how to describe it. He basically played his instrument, sang, and played some bass drum pedals at the same time. Its definitely something you need to check out once in your life time. I remember he came out, opening for Buckethead, and everyone yelled "WE WANT BUCKETHEAD" while he was playing and then he moved part of his instrument and it let out this massive sound from the speakers and everyone shut up quickly. After that, everyone loved him. He later came out and played "bass" for Buckethead.
The Doors - My friend's mom was banging their tour manager and basically I had full access VIP tickets to the show. I basically got to hang out with whats left of The Doors on their tour bus. Ian Astbury was a really good replacement for Jim Morrison and they all did a good job despite being old.

Robert Plant & The Strange Sensation: One of the greatest nights of my life, seeing the golden god and his new band!Their setlist was a mixture of Zep,Robert Plant's solo albums, and their first album,"The Mighty Rearranger".
Jethro Tull: Ian Anderson is my childhood hero,so this concert was also a big deal for me.It was done in two halves, because of the rain. The first half was pretty normal,I was in the back -cheap student tickets,argh- but after the rain began, some of the so called fans left, and I suddenly found myself in the front row, staring at Ian in the face! I even blew a kiss to Martin Barre,he was surprised at first, but then waved at me,haha!
After two hours, the fun was over. I ended up soaked with rain and a guitar pick in my hand :D
[b]Black Sabbath (with Dio): I didn't enjoy that, Dio just isn't entertaining. They only played slow songs and Dio never even tried to get the crowd going. I missed Ozzy on that night, and left before the end. I wouldn't even call that Sabbath...
Quoted for the extreme truth.

Iron Maiden was an amazing show and went far beyond my expectations. They really got the crowd into it and Bruce is awesome during and between songs with everything he does. I'm hoping to catch them again the next time they come through New Mexico.

The Killers:I went to see them at Rod Laver (I'm Starting a Australia shithole campaign) which was pretty good actually. theres a good band and know how to move a crowd.
Matchbox Twenty:These boys have been round a while, and sound fantastic live! I might've been high. but i'm pretty sure i went.
Slipknot:Yes, i'm incredibly lame, my cousin dragged me there.
twas acceptable for a shite band
Shinedown I have seen them at least 3 times, 2 of which were in Jacksonville (their hometown) needless to say they rocked faces. I have yet to be disappointed by them and I am not even that big on their music.
Serj Tankian Obviously biased because he is my favorite artist ever. But the concert I saw him at he headlined and was awesome. He even dealt with the fact that everyone was throwing shit because they took so long to take the stage. Great performance.
Staind the music was great, but the concert was boring, he played after sevendust who were a lot more energetic so he really let the audience down.
Sevendust Awesome live, the concert was like the day after the lead singers brother died too so it was cool that they even played. They were totally into the croud it was awesome.
Filter Good but not great, they sounded good but they really suck at having a stage presence.
Rob Zombie fucking epic. He had the best show I have ever seen with all kinds of props and projectors and shit INDOORS it was the best concert I have been to.
Lacuna Coil Same venue as Rob Zombie, they were really good too, and they sounded great. I had never heard of them before that concert but I checked them out afterward and listen to them all the time now.

Alexisonfire: I've seen them live 7 times so far, and I simply can't get enough. The band is simply AMAZING. They've got insane amounts of energy, every single band member is putting everything he's got in each show. George keeps jumping around and screaming, Dallas and Wade both have excellent voices, Dallas is more static, but Wade is pretty entertaining, and Chris is simply great, he dances around pretty often, he's really cool to look at. Ratbeard is... well... drumming, can't do much, but he's still great. They sound so awesome live, MUCH better than on CD, and the crowd, the energy, everything makes the show so much better. Definately the best band I've seen live so far, and I can't wait to see them again. I even got the chance to have a picture taken with George, Wade and Dallas last time I saw them, and I had some time to speak with Dallas, and I consider myself very lucky.
Thrice : I've seen them only once. They were great, the whole crowd was singing for older songs like The Artist in the Ambulance, Stare at the Sun, or Deadbolt, but the songs from The Alchemy Index were... well, not as good. Still, it was a solid performance.
Say Anything : I LOVE these guys. They were one of the bands playing with Thrice. I enjoyed their set a lot, but I would have loved to hear Woe, or Wow, I can get Sexual too. At least, they played Skinny, Mean Man, which is probably my favorite song from In Defense of the Genre, and Alive with the Glory of Love. I want to see these guys again.
Rise Against : I saw them a couple of years ago, after the release of Siren Songs of the Counter Culture. They were amazing. Tim has so much energy, and kept singing with the crowd, which was amazing. They're a band I recommend seeing at least once, although the newest stuff is good, but not as good as the older.
Every Time I Die : I got to see those guys twice, both at Alexisonfire's shows. I didn't know them at all at the time, but I enjoyed their set very much. Another great band to see live.
Anti-Flag : I liked their set a lot. Was looking forward to seeing them with Alexisonfire and Saosin. They were great, as expected, but they didn't play enough older songs in my opinion. Still, I enjoyed it a lot.
Saosin : I only knew a couple of their songs, and the only one they played that I knew was Seven Years. They were good, but most of the guys were pretty static on stage. Only the singer moved a lot.
Good Riddance : I saw them at an Alexisonfire show a couple of years ago. I didn't think I'd get the chance to see them once. They played a solid performance, and they're the proof that older bands can still put on a great live act.
Ensiferum : Fuckin' blown away. They sounded AWESOME. The pit was great, they played their best songs. It was one of the best show of my life.
Turisas : They actually amazed me more than Ensiferum. I saw them the same night. They sounded awesome, I barely knew them, but WOW. They had so much energy, and they were dressed with fur and barbaric clothes, with facepaints and everything, which added a lot to the show. A Wall of Death, some dancing, and Folk Metal. If you have the chance to see them, and are interested in Folk Metal, don't miss your chance.
As I Lay Dying : I saw them about 5 years ago. I can't remember much, but I remember the show was great, and they finished with Forever, and with some guy grabbing the singer, and jumping in the crowd with him for the end of the song.
Guttermouth : I was happy to see these guys along Alexisonfire. I've only heard good comments about their live shows, and everything was true. The singer is crazy, plain and simple. They played many songs I knew, and the singer even gave me the microphone to sing like 10 seconds of Lipstick.
City and Colour : Dallas Green is a god. Simple enough.
The Black Lungs : Saw them before the CD was released, Wade had only 2 songs released at the time; In Memory and Fire and Brimstone. He played a couple of covers, one of the Misfits, and one of Hot Water Music, if I remember correctly. It was great. I love Wade.
Unexpect : Another performance that was amazing. They're from Montreal, Quebec. They play a pretty weird kind of Metal, but damn, it sound amazing. They're all really talented too; the bassist actually uses a 9-string bass. If you have the chance to see them, take it, you won't regret it.
Job for a Cowboy : Fuckin' solid performance. Not much to say, it was amazing. The crowd was almost fighting the whole time. Metalheads wanted a real mosh pit, and hardcore kids wanted to punch and kick in the air.
Despised Icon : Pretty much the same as Job for a Cowboy. They also sounded amazing.
Trois-Rivières Metal Fest 2007 : Quo Vadis, Unexpect, Neuraxis, Blinded by Faith, Augury, End is Near. Those are the bands that I really liked. I won't bother to write down about each band, simply because I can't remember very well, but they were the most amazing bands out of the 2 nights. I did bodysurfing for the first time during Blinded by Faith too.
Some other bands I saw :
Billy Talent : Good performance, saw them twice, first time was much better, second one had less energy.
Good Charlotte : They were... okay, I guess. Not really my kind of Music.
Belvedere : They were great, but I think they broke up.
Attack in Black : Pretty good, but nothing mind-blowing
Cancer Bats : Great show, they're probably gonna be much better with the second CD out, as it's even better than the first one.

Ok so this is from when I went to my first concert in November 2006 till now.
Rolling Stones my very first concert and I must say I started off with the right band. The show was amazing! So far it's the only concert I've been to in a big inside venue where you have assigned seats. I was blow away by the performance, I wasn't expecting that much because they are all like 60. But WOW is all I have to say.
Wolfmother a lot different then the Rolling Stones. The played at a much smaller venue but apparently it was the most people and biggest venue they'd played at that time. It was the first ever mosh pit I've been in and it was awesome.
Virgin Festival 2007
First festival and outside venue.
Billy Talent I watched them from the stands because it was raining and I was tired but they did a really good job of getting the audience all riled up. And from what I heard the music was really good to.
My Chemical Romance I'm not the biggest fan of MCR but I have to admit they put on a pretty good show. I don't really remember much of it though.
Rise Against I actually don't like them really at all but my friends like them and we had a great time in the pit. Als some fat girl fell on my tiny friend well screaming "PLEASE HOLD ME UP NOW" it was funny.
Stars of Track and Field I came in just at the end but they were really good. And one of the guy almost flashed the audience but didn't :(
Jets Overhead before then I hadn't really listened to them much at all but they were awesome. I was right at the front because they were on one of the smaller stages and there was only like 10 people. I think they are better live then recorded.
The Junction I seriously love the junction. They are awesome. They also were on a smaller stage so I was pretty close.
The Killers when they finally got on stage about 30 late they were alright. But they had no audience connection and when beckoned for an oncour they just walked off stage. I was really disappointed. But I crowd surfed for the first time which was pretty cool.
AFI I'm not a huge fan of AFI because the lead singer kind of scares me but they were really good. And he isn't quite as scary in real life.
Hot Hot Heat it was their first time back in there home town and I feel they didn't appreciate that enough. But other than that they were great!
Metric their show was totally awesome! Before they played I went and got their autographs and Emily Haines (the lead singer) complemented my hair and then poked the guitarist or something I don't remember who was sitting next to her, and said see thats how I want my hair to be like. It was pretty amazing, I felt special.
Smoosh I watched it for like 5 minutes and was totally terrified and left.
You Say Party! We Say Die! they were ok. Nothing special and I wasn't there very long. But the lead singer was wearing the worst outfit ever it went in to every fold she had.
Mother Mother I didn't really listen to them much before this but after hearing how amazing they are live I bought their CD. They are seriously the best band performance wise not show wise I've seen so far. Truly amazing.
Warped Tour 2007
I was sick when I went so I didn't have that great of a time but was still good.
Anberlin I wasn't really paying very much attention because the person in front of me had the weirdest piercing on the back of their neck. And I don't really like there music at all.
The Automatic Automatic they were totally awesome. The did a re-make of Kanye West's song gold digger. It was hilarious! One of them wiped out a flute and started doing a jig well playing the flute. I think it was the best re-make of a song you could here. Penny also jumped into the audience a lot which was cool because I got to like touch him.
Big D and the Kids Table pretty awesome, but I was right at the front untill some faggot behind me started kicking me and usually I would have joined in and kicked back but like I said I was sick. So I just walked further away and watched. They were really good.
The Chucky Danger Band Never heard of them before this but I heard them from where me and my friend were sitting and was like WOAH that sounds awesome. So we went over and I met my future husband. They were on the "you've never heard any of these bands before stage" and that was awesome because they jumped off the stage and ran around in the very small crowd well still playing. And I got to touch my hubby bottom. Also after their show I bought their CD and got them all to sign it. I also got to talk with them briskly.
Cute Is What We Aim For I really hate them so I didn't enjoy it much. But I guess they were pretty good. They had like little talks with the audience and told a story which I liked because it meant less of their music.
Family Force 5 I like their music recorded but they were really awful live. They sounded screamo and I really hate screamo bands.
K-os he's not really my thing but it was really good. There were a lot of people though and I was way far back so I couldn't hear very well.
Meg & Dia before that I hadn't heard anything by them at all so I was stunned when I heard what I did. I loved them! They talked with the audience and stuff which I always like to.
New Found Glory I don't really like them much but they were awesome. And the crowd was totally into it. My friend has a video of the pit swirling and it was absolutely huge!
New Years Day I kind of liked them before but after hearing them live I can't stand their music. It was awful!
Paramore this was before they were allover the radio and stuff. But even thoug the crowd was quite large. They were ok but I don't really like Paramore at all.
Pepper I remember I saw them but I was sort of half asleep on a hill. They were pretty sucky from what I remember..
PlayRadioPlay! I had never heard their music before this and I really liked them. I even got a chance to chat with some of the band members after the show which was cool. The one thing is though when I got home I downloaded some of it and it wasn't nearly as great as it was when it was live.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus I watched about 10 minutes but they really sucked and I hate their music.
Yellowcard I really hate yellowcard. But they were alright I guess.
Not part of Warped tour
The Arctic Monkeys they were at the same venue as wolfmother was. Their music was pretty great. But I don't remember much of that night though. Just that I screamed a lot and lost my voice just like every other concert I go to because I'm a 16 year old girl :/
Also on Saturday I'm going to see Stars and I'll let you all know how they are.
EDIT: I've seen a lot of bands in a sort amount of time. Maybe too many.

Last Night :
BlackStoneCherry
Fantastic show, sounded awesome and looked even better. But then again, I do love their music so I'll be slightly biased.
White Snake
Well, seeing as I went in having never even heard of White Snake, I didn't know what to expect, and well, it was meh. Not recognising any song's put me at a massive disadvantage, but the fact that the two guitarist's just got up about half way through their playlist and started shredding each other, it was epic.
Def Lepard
Fuck Yeah! A great band, made even greater by the fact that they are performing at their home : Sheffield! An amazing performance, and although Im not the biggest fan on earth, and to be honest only recognised about 5 songs, they still got me clapping and nodding along to almost all songs, easily one of the best concert's ive been to.

Chevelle - AMAZING! They were awesome =] They sound just the same live as they do on their CD's. It was my first rock concert and I had been to a country concert a week or two before Chevelle. It was ENTIRELY different lol Definitely a great way to start out my rock concert experience =] First time in a mosh pit too WOO! Fun stuff
The country concert that I went to was
Mark Wills - He was very interactive which made it that much more fun =] It was at a county fair so there were A LOT of drunk people, but it was massive amounts of fun none the less.
Saw Stars saturday, with gizza, and they were awesome. Lots of conversing with the crowd as well as playing a tonne of songs amazingly. Amy's voice honestly sounds identical live to how it is recorded. Torquil kept making cracks about how he was really really high and asking the audience if they were as well. During Your Ex-Lover is Dead he busted out this like keyboard/recorder thing that sounded like a harmonica and he was wailing away on that thing like no ones business.
For the type of music they play they really really had the crowd going.

Born of osiris- Not too bad but definetly could move around more on stage.
The Devil wears prada- The best show ive ver been too, and not just because they are my favorite band. There stage presence was legend and it got me so pumped i couldent hear anything except me singing along for days haha.

Coheed and Cambria: Opened with Welcome Home, and they had the crowd sing the choral piece at the end of the song...i still get goosebumps.
Devil Wears Prada: Amazing amounts of energy, and were actually cool enough to entertain the crowd with jokes and antics when they had to take a break in the middle of a set due to technical breakdowns.
Chiodos: I don't remember much of the set because a giant fat man in a green shirt destroyed me in the mosh pit, but i had an awesome time?

Back in '05, I saw the Rolling Stones, and actually got one of Keith Richards' guitar picks after he threw one out after a solo. They had a hydraulic stage, and for about half of the show I was no more than 7 feet from the band. That was pretty sweet. They all play as smooth today as they did in the 60's, if not even more crisp, and Mick Jagger has as much energy on stage as he ever did.
In '99, I saw Kansas with my Dad. I like the majority of their work, and they did not disappoint. They play with amazing amounts of adrenaline live today, though I know some of their live albums have been hit-or-miss. I honestly like their voices and guitar work now more than I did when they were younger.

So, I went to a concert last night 5 hours away.
Soilent Green: Weren't horrible, but had no reason to be there.
Chimaira: The lights and the professionalism were the only things that made them worth watching.
Dethklok: Fucking awesome of course. Dear god, "Thunderhorse" and "Go Into The Water" were even more amazing live. They had a screen behind the band that'd have a music video going while they played, and they played almost perfectly in sync with the video. Brandon Smalls had lots of weird positions though, like he'd sit there and crouch to sing into the mic or he'd do this weird pose while playing guitar that made him look like he was stretching. He was an awesome fucking guitarist though. Gene "The Machine" Hoglan didn't do anything fancy on the cymbals or toms but dear god hes got some awesome feet. He was literally a machine on the double bass. The other two guys were good...they just didn't matter.

The past couple of months i've been to a Bryan Adams consert (mom forced me >_>) and Metaltown . Since Bryan Adams was the first of these two i'll review it first.
The gig had 2 supporting acts, the first was Beth Hart never heard much of it but it seemed pretty good, but the crowd didn't seem to give a shit, stood there talking etc, but worth going to a consert though.
Gnags even typing the name makes my ears twist in pain. This kind of music makes me wanna kill my self, and make alot of crap bands seems celestial in comparison. I hate it, yet the crowd seemed in to it so if you like this type of music go watch em, (Danish band), here a clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9qnkx40WD0 :blanky:
Bryan Adams his music is fine, most of his lyrics sucks (not the way he sings), but! The intro was a killer, totally unexpected they popped up in the middle of the crowd on a stage i didn't even know exsisted. I got carried away instantly, and sang along the best that i could =D They swapped stages after a while though. So i would recommend going to a consert with him.
Now on to Metaltown. I live in Denmark, and this is in sweden but it was the closest i could come to experience In Flames live, plus some others of my favourite bands were playing. So me and my buddy went the with expectations pretty high, but little were we aware of what we were about to experience....
Started out with Sonic Syndicate on one of the big stages, and Keld on the close up. Well we went to the big stage to see Sonic Syndicate since they had a bad ass name =D Usual stage music and they enter stage, and start playing. The first song is pretty desent, but we didn't even know when they started playing anotehr track, i mean what the fuck? We left, that was boring as shit. The close up was WAAAY to loud, i couldn't stand being in there, neither could my buddy, but Keld seemed ok.
The next to enter stage were Job for a Cowboy, but they were cancelled and a local Death Metal band was to Replace them, called Avatar. And of course the close up is running all the time, but we didn't venture in there again. Well music wise Avatar seemed pretty good. Hated the vocalist though, and i'm not into the whole Death Metal shit. Worth checking out if you like Death metal. We were sitting down though, but we could still here them from where we were.
Sabaton was next. And shit, i didn't know about this band, but they were damn good! Power metal band, influenced by Manowar i would say, some would disagree most likely. So we were standing a little bit in the back, like a island acting like fools etc =D But they deffinetly worth it! Primo Victoria!!
Then we went to Gothenburg to get some food, while Danko Jones, and Killswitch Engage were playing.
My buddy would like to see Bullet for my Valentine, don't ask. They were playing later. Next was Hardcore Superstar. Do i need say more? the name indicates how crap they are, yet there music sucked billions of times more than you can imagine, the crowd seemed to like it though.
Now it was time for Bullet for my Valentine. And fast did he get disappointed about how trivial they sounded. Also the usage of the word fuck, yea you're gangsta by using it in in each sentence >_>. We left. Again the crowd seemed to like it. Two other bands were playing after, but we were too tired.
Day 2:
Started out with a swedish band Lillasyster, they sing in swedish, and the name means "little sister¨". And be warned xD These guys are fooling around on stage =D Damn it was a very funny show, music wise they're fine but they gathered a rather large crowd, because of their show. I felt like moshing to their music, but couldn't since we were in teh back. They were the biggest suprise on Metaltown, and apparently it was the first time they played for such a big crowd. Boring as hell when i listen to the mat home. Who the fuck brings your mothers onn stage? xD
The next were Dark Tranquillity. I kinda knew the vocalist weren't that good live after seeing it on Youtube, but yet i was looking forward to it unaware of the fact that..... the vacalist was probably the most gay person i've ever seen my entire life >_> Damn i got a turn off, i couldn't enjoy the music becuase of the way he acted. I can't explain why. He was a bit better vocal wise than i expected though. Don't go to a consert if you cannot stand public gayness. I mean, i don't hate gays, but i couldn't help it here =( Sorry.
Disappointed we went to Soilwork, while DT was playing. Didn't know my expectations to them, but know they're a kick ass band! As we were both fans we opviously wanted to be in the front. They owned the fucking stage! And first time in my life i ever moshed =D I didn't expect them to be that great to mosh to but they were! Wall of Death waaargh! Very good show, Soilwork!!! Go to a show with these guys, they're fucking great!
We went to get food again as yesterday while Finntroll and Opeth should've played, but Opeth got replaced by Satyricon. My mate hates Satyricon so, to be able to talk we had to put our earplugs in, while we maked our way to the front of Amon Amarth scene!
Amon Amarth was one hell of a experience! They ruled that fucking stage! Didn't wanna mosh just enjoy the great music. Not much to say, they're just as great as i expected, despite the fact they didn't have pyros to Death In FIRE!!! But they found an alternativ XD 2 Hot girls, doing that thing when they swallow oil, or what ever, and breath fire. Deffinetly worth it! Damn they were good.
Dimmu Borgir was next. I downloaded a couple of tracks and thought, damn this is great! And saw live performanses, and found they were pretty good! But damn that was boring =( It sounded all the same, yet their scene seemed to explode in ligths and pyros! If you like them i recommend, but if you find them pretty good then not.
We wanted to stay in the front when In Flames should play, so we made our way there. Damn it got packed pretty quickly, never standed closer than i did there. Nightwish was at the stage next to us, so we could enjoy there music while waiting. Heh, we screamed for In Flames during there set. i could imagine they got annoyed, by such a large crowd screaming, but not to them, i know i would =D. Nightwish seemed pretty good though.
In Flames started out with Cloud Connected! No entrance music, directly into Cloud fucking Connected! No 5 min wait fr them to enter! The crowd went nuts! We couldn't hear shit because it was so packed, so we desisded to jump the fence and get in the back -.-' =(. Depressed we standed listening. But heck it was In Flames! WAAARGH! They were so fucking good ! Beyond everything else, they were so much better than their records. I still don't get it. We got high on that shit. Never in my entire life has my throat been this wasted. Their set sucked kinda, but that didn't bother us. They owned everything! The scene was like a fucking light ball exploding in pyros, light and firework! During My Sweet Shadow fireworks exploded out on the sea and everything was so fucking perfect! No matter if you like them or not, go to their shows, you will not get disappointed! I was stunned by it. In Flames we trust, have been the 4 words i've been saying most since their gig. I can't explain how good they were, but i'm trying.
I'm out, damn that's a massive post xD
Most recently went to Gigantour; lineup was Job for a Cowboy, High on Fire, Children of Bodom, In Flames, and Megadeth. I only remember enjoying Children of Bodom and Megadeth, but I think Job for a Cowboy was alright. Wasn't a massive crowd by any means but it was a pretty kickass show considering there weren't any pyrotechnics or effects of any kind.
Saw Red Hot Chili Peppers with the Mars Volta and absolutely hated the Mars Volta. It was so discordant and unmelodic, they had 15 instruments(or sounded that way) all playing different music on different times. It was just weird. Chili Peppers kicked ass, until the end when Flea and the lead from the Mars Volta had a huge, weird solo, for 20 minutes, and they were still playing when I left.
Metallica , don't even remember their opening band, but they played nearly every single one of my favourite songs, INCLUDING Fade to Black, which is my all time fave.
Pantera Oh my god, it is sad that they're gone forever. I was front, centre, in the pit for the entire concert. I got drumsticks, and then lost them :( my friend managed to make it on their tourbus because she went backstage and dyked out right beside the drum kit, we could see this other chick's naked torso, and her head bobbing. Because of her we didn't get an encore. You could see Vinnie Paul crane his head to look while he was playing. They were definitely worth the bruised ribs/head/legs I got from being crushed against the rail for 3 hours.
Motley Crue Nearly showed my tits on Tommy Lee's titty cam. Was prevented from doing so by my MALE friend. I am pissed off at him about that forever. Almost got my hair lit on fire by the guy in the seat beside me.
The show itself was absolutely awesome. They still rock.
Alice Cooper was alright, he didn't really get the crowd going at all.
Tragically Hip If you're Canadian, and haven't seen the Hip yet, what's wrong with you? They tour like 3 times a year. I'm not a big fan or anything, but they put on a really good show.

Gym Class Heroes. They are great live. They were a hell of an opening.
Red Hot Chili Peppers What can I say? They're fucking awesome, if not better, live and I'm happy I got to see them.
Gnarls BarkleyThey opened for the Peppers. They were alright; not my favorite band.
All-American Rejects Not my favorite band, but fuck, they sure made me a fan when they started playing It End Tonight and lit fireworks into the air.
Motion City Soundtrack I used to listen to them a long time ago, but when they came on I was sort of impressed. I was near the front and I couldn't even hear any of the music.
Bowling For Soup I saw them in 6th grade, okay? I had bad taste. I didn't like the concert because in the middle of like every song, the band would stop playing and throw free stuff into the crowd. Most of it was stuff thrown onstage by the audience. On the way out of the crowd, I saw a bra and panties on the ground.

I saw Blue Man Group when I went to Chicago..
50% concert 50% play. The show was entertaining and hilarious. They did a whole bunch of weird stuff mostly involving the audience. It was fantastic and I enjoyed myself.
And the best thing was, I got one of their autographs. Yeah, they signed my playbill. W00T! I still keep it in my guitar case.

Tom Waits: Beautiful performance. The man knows how to put on one great show. His stage presence is amazing and he really makes things fun. Between songs he's talk about humorous past experiences and just overall funny stories. Near the end of the show, he whipped out a hat with many pieces of mirror glued on. He proceeded to wear it and spin around, acting as human disco ball.
I may only be 16, but I swear, there will never be another concert that will even come close to my first (but hopefully not last) Tom Waits experience.

Rush-one of the best shows i've ever seen. Its definitely worth going to see them live
Iron Maiden-once you see them live, listening to the albums just isn't the same anymore
Avenged Sevenfold-sick as fuck
Slipknot-crazy cause there's like 9 of um up on stage at once
Dio-funny cause he's like 4 feet tall
Megadeth-the shit!!!!
Dream Theater-the keyboard player and the guitarist did a baddass battle, but i wish they had a different singer cause his voice just gets annoying

Just last week I went to see Rooney in concert with Locksley in a small 300 person venue. It was a totally different experience from that of Iron Maiden.
Locksley - I had never really heard them before but had pretty good music and awesome stage performance.
Rooney (http://www.youtube.com/user/rooneyvideos?ob=4) - Great music in my opinion and their cover of "Baby, I Love You" by the Ramones was perfect. It was great to see a band like that in such a small venue and be right up in the front rows. Definitely check them out.

I even got the chance to have a picture taken with George, Wade and Dallas last time I saw them, and I had some time to speak with Dallas, and I consider myself very lucky.
Couldn't agree more; best band i've seen live by a long shot.
And yes, you are lucky .

I went to Warped Tour last week and even my girlfriend agreed that Reel Big Fish fulfilled they're promise of the best 30 minute set, Angels and Airwaves kept winning the extra ten minutes :frown:
It was my third time seeing them and like always they know how to keep the crowd entertained. This was one of their instances where they actually opened with Sell Out and closed with Take On Me. They played The Many Versions of SR but knowing they only had a limited amount of time they rushed through it but did it really well. What was funny is when they said "Actually, Relient K has been nice enough to give us their 30 minute set! So we have all the time in the world! Sorry to you Relient K fans waiting on the next stage over!" But he said it in a manner to where most of us believed him :frown: Scotty K confirmed he was just joking. They also played crowd favorites Your Guts (I Hate 'Em), and of course, Beer. I can't wait to see another headlining tour from them again.

That many people didnt realize they were in the presence of a true rock god like Dave Wyndorf!!!!
This saddens me:(
I hope you realize how lucky you were to get to see Monster Magnet play live. That band is one of the most under appreciated bands ever. More people need to give them a listen. And I don't mean the few songs they play on the radio. There so much more to this band besides Spacelord.

The most insane concert I've ever seen was The Ocean. They were headlining and to be honest, i was at the brink of disappointment after the first 3 bands put out a bunch of noise that really didnt agree with my ears. So the ocean comes out, sets up for a long-ass time, and about the time I start getting pissed, they launch into Long March Of he yes Men, and i was literally speechless. The raw intensity and tightness of the band, combined with the surreal state I was in because of the blinding LED light show behind them, literally left me in a state of awe where I literally could say nothing other than "Holy fucking shit, is this real?"
So thats just the first song. After that, I'm a little bit more conditioned for whats ahead of me, and start screaming along the lyrics because the ocean writes absolutely awesome lyrics. So the vocalist hands me the mic around 5 or 6 times on that song alone simply because hes not a prick and realizes that people love mic grabs.
The show ended up with songs off of the aeolian album, and although i dont know many of them, it was incredible nonetheless. So, if the ocean is coming anytime soon to your area, i strongly advise you go if you like metal at all.

the mighty mighty bosstones-awesome band great concerts(saw them twice...first time i got on stage)
motley crue-the music was good...but arena concerts are rarely as good as underground ones
velvet revolver-same as motley crue...but i liked this one more
the misfits/balzac-this concert kicked serious ass...an excellent mosh pit...it got so crazy that they had to stop the concert for about an hour...
hatebreed/type o negative-best concert i have ever been to...the mosh was the most insane thing you will ever see...and the music was awesome...

Mötley Crüe: Very good show. They got the crowd going pretty fast and played only good songs. Girls, Girls, Girls was probably one of their best performance. Opening with Kickstart My Heart was awesome too. Tommy Lee went into the crowd and gave us some booze.
Iron Maiden: Holy. Fucking. Shit. That was so amazing I couldn't even believe it. Bruce talked to the crowd in french most of the time, wich pleased us all easily. Seeing the Powerslave (http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/music/powerslave.jpg) stage live is something I'll never forget. Bruce was running around all the time, really getting himself into the music therefor dragging everyone too with him. He had the fucking redcoat and the flag during Trooper and the mask during Powerslave ! My favorite song of the night remains Fear Of The Dark. The whole crowd was singing along, and Bruce even yelled: "Scream for me Montreal. Scream for me les Québécois !!".
Previously in this thread I said that Slayer was my best show ever, but Iron Maiden just took that first place. I even lost my shoes. Better yet, Bruce said they'll be back soon with a new album !
My Chemical Romance: I am a huge fan, and it was my first concert so I was so excited. It was as amazing as I imagined but better. I totally forgot myself in the craziness and was weirded out by how everyone was acting like it was another day at school the next day. Which it was, for them. I was still high off their performence. Gerard was very into the crowd, we even did the wave. It was a lot of fun. After a bunch of songs, they brought out this kid named Micheal, and we all said hi. I assumed he was from the Make A Wish foundation. It makes me so much more in love with them knowing they are a part of that. What sucks is that I was in the 300 section, and couldn't really see them, but it was still awesome. Best night of my life.

Iron Maiden: Just got back from seeing them in Oslo. And I must concur with the rest of the people in this thread who have seen them, "Holy fucking shit!" and no, listening to the albums won't be the same after this.
Deep Purple: I saw them a couple of years ago, and I loved every second of it. They played all the classics, like Highway Star, Black Night, Smoke on The Water and Ted the Mechanic.
Black Sabbath: Original lineup, fuck yeah! Ozzy kicked so much ass, throwing buckets of water at the auidience, and all kinds of crazy shit. I think he really lives for the stage, because seeing him on The Osbournes and stuff really doesn't do the man justice.
They played all of my favorite songs by them, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Black Sabbath, Sweet Leaf, and I didn't realize that Ozzy plays the harmonica on The Wizard, (which is kind of embarassing now that I think about it), until I saw them play it live.
After seeing those three bands live, I reached a conclusion that old people can still rock and make some great noise.
I've not seen all that many. As in I've seen maybe...5. But I'll review them anyways.
Cream - Oh yes, the revival concert thingy at the Royal Albert Hall in 2005. I was a baby at 16 back then, and didn't really know them - I knew Eric Clapton, obviously, and I knew Sunshine Of Your Love. Despite knowing nothing about them - brilliant show. Arguably the best bassist, drummer and guitarist of their time all in one band. Ginger Baker was awesome - would that I had his stamina as a drummer now that he does at the age of 70 or whatever. Ok so Toad wasn't half an hour long, but there was still time for the other two to wander off stage, relax, have a drink, change their shirts and come back on stage to watch him a further five minutes. Very good show, full of energy and classic songs - the only bad point was the two nutty Americans behind me yelling "GOD SAVE THE CREAM" every two minutes.
Cradle of Filth at Bristol's Carling Academy, last year. I absolutely fucking love this band so would give them a good review regardless. They played some of their older stuff as well as Thornography tracks, thankfully. Tracks that stood out for me were Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids and I Am The Thorn. I hated Nymphetamine though, I don't like Sarah Jezebel's version at all. I'd have rather they didn't play it. Dani (swoon) was generally full of energy, interacting with the crowd, and told us all off for being there on St Georges day. Downside: the rest of the band seemed bored, to be honest, and why is Sarah Jezebel tucked in the back out the way? She's not THAT bad guys, c'mon, let her be seen once in a while.
Hanzel Und Gretyl were supporting Cradle. They were insane! Instantly became a constant on my favourites playlist once I got home. The guy in the Nazi helmet was suitably scary and weird and they really got the crowd going. Which is good, because the support act that were on before them sucked hairy donkey balls. Downside: Er...there wasn't one really. All their songs seemed a bit samey but that didn't bother me in the least.
Avenged Sevenfold in Cardiff Carling Academy back in February. Or was it the Academy. Might have been the University. Whatever, it was in Cardiff and we got lost on the way there. They put on a VERY tight show, M Shadows' vocals portraying all the passion and feeling in the songs throughout. Awesome solos from Gates and The Rev, generally brilliant playing from the whole band. And the reaction from the crowd! I've not been in any crowd at any occasion that was so wild and full of passion. You could barely hear Shadows in some chorus' because of everyone roaring out the lyrics. Bat Country was DEFINITELY my favourite song of the night. Downside: They didn't play Little Piece of Heaven nor, so far as I recall, anything before City of Evil. Also, we hung around and missed our train and had to sleep on the platform of Cardiff station so we could meet the band. The least they could do was wave, and when M Shadows came out, he could have made a better hash of pretending he wasn't a really moody bastard. But he signed our stuff (best birthday prezzie my brother's ever had) and stood (frowning) for his photo, so I can't really complain.
Black Tide were supporting A7X. Again, these guys really blew me away! Bought their album as soon as it came out based on this gig. Absolutely no downside to their gig, a very tight performance and boy, talk about energy...the drummer reminds me forcibly of Animal. Very good band and I hope to see much more of them in the future!
Will hopefully be seeing Kill Hannah, Less Than Jake, Motorhead and Enter Shakiri next term at Exeter. Also with any luck, Pendulum will come back as they played at the Uni twice this year and I missed them both times. Really looking forward to Kill Hannah, kinda excited about the others.

I just went to the first Rockstar Mayhem Festival yesterday. Very surprising really.
The Red Chord - Jesus fucking Christ this band has made me hate tempo changes. It seems like every 5 seconds this band changed the tempo of their songs, so I could never really CLEARLY hear exactly what they sounded like. I was surprised when the lead singer pointed the mic to the audience and there was actually words coming out. His vocals sounded like shit. This was actually my 2nd time seeing them too.
Five Finger Death Punch - Cheesy name aside, these guys actually have great stage presence, and that's definitely one thing that makes me want to see a band again, even if I don't like their music that much. But these guys played real well. I'd definitely drop by a side stage to see them again.
Machine Head - Now this is a band that should've been playing the Main Stage. They really get the crowd going, and alot of fans were only there to just see them play a 30 minute set. Their set was even better than Disturbed's hour set. Badass circle pits too. Can't wait to see them again
Main Stage
Mastodon - What the fuck? When Mastodon came on it was like nobody seemed to care. Me and my friends got lawn seats, and it was only me some guy behind me, and some guy farther in front of me who where headbanging and singing the songs. Everyone else in the lawn was sitting down and didn't give a shit. They only got a 40 minute set, when they're much more fucking talented than Disturbed. Those people don't know what they just saw. That aside, Mastodon is a pretty tight group live, and I loved that they played Leviathan songs. But they didn't say a single word to the crowd, they didn't even introduce themselves as Mastodon, or said the name of a song, or album. Maybe they were as pissed off as I was for opening the Main Stage.
Dragonforce - It was sad how you could pick out the Guitar Hero fanboys whenever they came on. For the longest time I heard they sucked live, I guess they didn't suck that hard, but they were corny as fuck on stage.
Disturbed - The only song I really like by them is Liberate, and they played it as their second song that night. Everything else was just me suffering. The intro to every song sounded the same, as did the guitar solo to every song. Several times when he sang a song I asked my friend, "Wait..is this still the same song? Or are they playing one they already played." I really could not tell. But once again, I guess their stage presence was good.
Slipknot - I was surprised that they only got an hour long set for being a headliner. I was also surprised to see how many hardcore Slipknot fans there are, "Maggots?" I even saw people with ridiculous Slipknot tattoos. (People=Shit ). They had some long intro, which was actually an instrumental of Iowa from the album of the same name, but I'm guessing more than half the crowd didn't even know that. They played alot of Vol. 3, and several Self-Titled stuff. The only album I liked was Iowa and they played 3 songs from that, (which actuallly included People=Shit). I guess their sound isn't bad live, Joey is still a ridiculous drummer live, and Clown and the guy with the Dick only occasionally do shit on their drums. On the last song clown started hitting his keg with a baseball bat  Not bad, I guess.
This tour should've had Mastodon on a higher pedestal and Machine Head on the Main Stage. I'm hoping next year's rendition is better.

Guster - Put on a really good show, a lot of goofy antics that I enjoyed. The opening band cancelled last minute, so they announced the replacement as the band "Trippin' Balls," which turned out to be them in ridiculous costumes for a "jam session" that was a lot of fun.
Barenaked Ladies - Similar to above... but with edible underwear. Those hardcore fans are pretty scary though. I got hit in the back of the head with a box of macaroni and cheese.
The Bangles - Super fun show, really got the crowd going.
Gordon Lightfoot - Very simple, laid back show. Basically just him and his guitar. Still good, especially considering he's almost 70.
B.B. King - Very, very good show, way better than I was even expecting. Really engaged the audience, seemed like the whole concert was an ongoing conversation with the audience. Every song is sort of a story. This may not make a whole lot of sense, but he danced in his chair during a lot of the show. He puts on a high energy show for being 82.
Bachman Cummings - I went to this on a whim because I got tickets for free... I didn't know much about them, and wasn't expecting much. Turned out to be an amazing show. They are the two founding members of The Guess Who, and also the Bachman from Bachman Turner Overdrive. They did a lot of older songs, which were really good, plus a few newer ones.
Collective Soul - Decent show. They played well, but didn't do a few of the songs I was definitely expecting to hear. The singer was going nuts on stage too... dancing (if that's what you call it...) and throwing the microphone stand and guitars.
Blues Traveler - Good show, kept it interesting. It seemed that the singer was putting a little bit of his soul into every song... but a little dissappointing that he had to take a break between every song for a cigarette.
Live - Definitely the best of the last three (all were at the same show). The singer was a little lame with hand motions and such in a few songs (I think he was a little drunk), but overwhelmingly good. Got the audience going good, I don't think anyone was sitting for the majority of their set.

Just got back from Crue Fest in Albuquerque. Was a long concert but well worth it.
Trapt opened up the concert and only played a half hour set. I liked their music even though I haven't heard much of it.
Sixx A.M. was awesome. Played most of their stuff from Heroin Diaries Soundtrack. They got the crowd going.
Papa Roach was pretty good. They really brought the crowd into it and played some of their old stuff.
Buckcherry turned out being surprisingly louder and more exciting than I thought, and the crowd went wild for Crazy Bitch and Sorry.
Motley Crue obviously dominated the show. Had a really loud and bright show. By the time they came up the venue was packed full (15,000 people) and made it that much better. I'd almost say they overdid it with the boobs (is that possible?) and it was sweet seeing them all together again.

Bumbing this thread.
Last night I went to a Illdisposed gig in Hjørring. It's a small venue. We were prolly around 70 people in there.
Well first a small band called Dunghole(?) were playing and they seemed pretty good. Nothing special and was damn wasted after work so just sat down listening. Seemed ok.
Well after that Hatred Conspiracy were on stage. And they were actually pretty awesome. Moshed a bit headbanged and all. Awesome!
Then Illdisposed were about to enter the stage. Heard some of their tracks the night before and they seemed like an ok death metal band. It's the greatest of Denmark :ahe:... Well my expectations were pretty high also because I were pumped. They entered stage I went nuts. I didn't care, moshed along, headbanged and the lead singer crowd surfed (yea it was possible). Honestly it was a fucking awesome local gig. Fucking epic carma beetween the crowd and the band. They shared their beer and I jumped on stage and screamed in the mic. You could barely call it a stage... :indiff:
All in all a awesome night. Illdiposed is awesome I would recommend to go see them

Rush- They were spot on with all their music and we were perhaps the youngest people at the concert. The best part was the overture/temples of syrinx from 2112. I dont think it was on the set for the previous shows. It was also the second to last show they did for the Snakes and Arrows tour so much energy. You can see age taking effect on Neil Peart, his solo was a little lacking i though

I saw DragonForce last night, and I don't give a shit what anyone says, it was one of the best concerts of my life. The only thing that ruined it was the sound was always off on the voice, but that was because I could see the sound guy working his ass off, and you can't blame him for being a few beats out.

Apocalyptica was in Ottawa September 24th. Amazing show. The guys were very funny, very interactive with the crowd and had a lot of energy. The sound was fantastic, they played a few songs I didn't know they'd play (Seek & Destroy, Master of Puppets, Hall of the Mountain King) and it was just an all around great experience.

i went to both pointfests this year...
for anyone who doesnt know what that is, its basicly all the best bands that are available to play, and a few local bands from the STL area. the show is put on by the radio station 105.7 The Point, hence POINTfest.
there are 29 bands that are scheduled to play, the first one had bands like Ludo, Coheed and Cambria, Killswitch Engage, Shinedown, Filter, and many many more i cant remember.
the second had Ludo, Sick Puppies, Saving Abel, 12 Summersold, Apocalyptica, Puddle Of Mudd, Shinedown, Bullet For My Valentine, and several more.
both shows were amazing. could have been a few better band, Atreyu was supposed to play the first pointfest, but their plane was delayed or something...
Queensryche- I did not listen to them before i saw them(they were an opening act) but they are amazing.
Alice Cooper- By far he is the best stage show in rock history, seeing him is an experience.
Heaven and Hell- It is hard to get more epic then Ronnie James Dio and Black Sabbath, great live.
Van Halen- saw them on thier reunion tour with Diamond Dave, great live, not the best live though.
3- Opened for "Between the Buried and Me" and I was really surprised of how good this small act was.
Between the Buried and Me- They were entertaining, I was not at the concert for them(they were an opening act), they played too short a set.
Opeth Great(they opened for Dream Theater), seeing them got me into them, very talented group.
Dream Theater Perfect live. They are better live than in the studio and seeing them live established them in my top 10.
Chimera good live, they were an opening act for Soilent Green.
Soilent Green good live, opened for Dethklok.
Dethklok the most epic show I have ever seen ever. It was the highlight of my life. I shed a single tear during Duncan Hills Coffee.
Anthrax love this band, fun and energetic live, their new singer is great, and I would of seen them even if they were not an opening act.
Iron Maiden the best show I have ever seen, they played thier music perfectly, had a great stage show and had great audience involvement. It was perfect.

The only interesting ones I have gone to were Red Hot Chili Peppers and White Stripes, but I was too young to appreciate the RHCP one...
The White Stripes maintain stage presence while playing multiple instruments. Jack manages to play guitar, keyboard, sing, and keep your attention without flaw.
Truly incredible.
Oh, and he has mad sweat dropping off his little ringlets. :hmm:

Evanescence - The first concert I went to, was pretty goot for a first. Some cool effects but didn't really have alot of crowd involvment or too much energy.
Stone Sour - Awesome show. They were along with Evanescene and they had alot of energy. I couldn't help but notice the lead singer kept throwing alot of bottled waters into the crowd though.
Rise Against - Seen them twice, and possibly a third time later this year. Alot of energy, and one of the first concerts I could sing along to all of the songs to.
Pennwise - Along with Rise Against. They were meh but there was one song where everybody went nuts and had a good mosh. Can't remember te name of it at the moment but its called fuck authority or something.
Silverstein - Again, along with Rise Against. Another meh perfermance, would've been ok but they didn't have alot of energy.
Korn - One of the best concerts i've been to. Very cool effects (lasers, fog and such) and alot of energy.
Atreyu - Probably one of the best shows i've been to too. awesome energy and great mosh. also very good crowd involvment.
Avenged Sevenfold - Probably one of the worst shows i've seen. Bad sound, no encore and lacking energy.
Carolina Liar - For a band I barely heard of before they weren't too bad.
Three Days Grace - Second best show i've ever seen. Loads of energy and they're one of my favorite bands.
Flaming lips - Crazy show. Who wouldn't love teletubbies and naked chicks dancing up stage though. and lots of confetti and giant balloons too.
Stone Temple Pilots - Not a big fan of theres, but was pretty good. was able to sing along to couple of their songs. Bad mosh though.

Ok, so yesterday I went to see Dragonforce play at Belfast with Turisas supporting. I have to admit guys, it was fucking amazing! Personally I think it should have been the other way around with Dragonforce supporting Turisas, however, what better way to get a crowd warmed up than to have a crowd of Vikings screaming at them from the stage huh? The music from both bands was absolute quality (which is always awesome, there have been loads of bands I've seen live that turn out to be absolute fuck - ups when it comes to preforming in front of an audience) and the high speed pace of both bands complete with water fights, mosh pits, viking make-up and hardcore violin solo's meant that after 5 hours of solid rocking, everybody went home completely exhausted. I always find that the best gigs leave me with a sore neck, back and ringing in my ears, this is why I'm on the internet instead of doing my homework. I rate the entire gig 5/5.

Saw Carcass with Souldrinker last night. Fucking amazing show, the energy of the band was fucking insane and I don't think a single person went home disappointed. Also, I got to meet Mike, Daniel and Bill after the show which was pretty damn sweet.
Rush.
Let's see, I'm not sure how I can word this correctly.
Fucking epic comes to mind, those guys are like 60 and still rock hardcore.

Ok, so yesterday I went to see Dragonforce play at Belfast with Turisas supporting.
I'm really pissed off that I didn't go to this. I had already seen Dragonforce live twice and thought that was enough. Everyone I've talked to says this was their best show ( and I quite enjoyed the other 2 ) . Just out of interest, was Sam actually sober this time?
I've seen Keane live. They're fantastic live. And there was a really good song where Tom Chaplin played the piano and no other music was played.
I saw 50 cent too...i know thats not much of a band but he had Dj Whoo Kid and Lloyd banks supporting too. They were really good.

A select few...
Caravan
Despite the obscure and almost retarded name, this prog band from way back when we all had hair was an epic gig. They played pheonominally well and the atmosphere was quite relaxed compared to a lot of gigs ive been to.
The Flaming Lips
One big birthday party with the most catchy and powerful yet psychadelic music ever, with bouncers that even make baloons vicious.
Dream Theater
Although seeing them in the time of release of their poorest album, systematic chaos, from a prog rock point of view, we got treated to the entirety of Images and Words at their gig in Manchester. It was epic.
The Boredoms
Hardcore noise and experimental fans will know and hold the Boredoms dearly. Their newest escapades, with three grade 8 drummers including the legendary Yoshimi P-We, and electronics by Yamantaka Eye, this gig left me partially deaf for several weeks and four months of severe tinitus. It was so worth it.

I saw the tour at the Norwich UEA, and it depends on what you define as Sober. He seemed to be able to play well enough, but he was still drinking.
And I dont understand what Turias was about. The only reason they said the guitar age was over because their guitarist seemed to only know how to play a single chord.

Saviours - Reminded me of a half-assed version of The Sword. They really weren't that interesting at all. Pretty generic stoner/thrash metal here folks.
Into Eternity - Waaayyyyy much better than the last time I saw them -- production wise I mean. Last time, their sound was almost muffled and one of the speakers kept screwing up during their set. Thankfully this time, their show went without a hitch and brought on some awesome prog/speed metal. Focus of their set was on their new album, The Incurable Tragedy.
Iced Earth - Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I'm so glad they got back their "classic" vocalist, Matt Barlow, because he's a much better vocalist for Iced Earth than Tim "Ripper" Owens. Nice mix up of songs from albums ranging back from Dark Saga to their current one, The Crucible of Man. I was a bit disappointed they didn't play any tracks from my favorite album, Burnt Offerings, but that didn't matter because overall, it was a very solid set from Iced Earth. Here's their setlist in case if you're wondering:
In Sacred Flames
Behold the Wicked Child
Motivation of Man
Setian Massacre
Burning Times
Declaration Day
Vengeance Is Mine
Night of the Stormrider (Jon Schaffer did vocals)
Pure Evil
Watching Over Me
I Walk Alone
Coming Curse
Dracula
High Water Mark (Gettysburg)
My Own Savior

Mortal Sin: I saw them on saturday for free at a local tavern. They put in as much energy as they would have at a large gig, it was fucking awesome. There's a reason they're one of Australia's biggest metal bands. They bring the thrash anthems and smack you in the face with them. Also, the bassist high-fived me because of how into the music I was, fuck yeah!

For my birthday yesterday, my buddy took me to see Mountain and Joe Satrini. Sweet Jesus.
Mountain- Barely really played any of their original work (yes, they played Mississippi Queen). They mostly jammed, and I was alright with that, because they can fucking play. They did, however, share awesome anecdotes about having gone to see Cream whilst on LSD - after which they played their completely shredded rendition of Crossroads. Fuck yes. They also played a completely ripping version of Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind, off the Dylan cover album they did. That was surprisingly amazing, as I generally don't like bands that take an easy-going song and throw in wild guitar. This worked though, and I loved it.
Joe Satriani - What can you say about Satch? He just blew everyone away. I was amazed with his stamina. Even after an hour and a half of relentlessly ravaging his fretboard, he was still going strong. As with most live performances, his stage show took all the polish and gloss off of the music - and he still played smooth and flawlessly. If you've heard a recording, you know what he can do - but if you've seen him in person, you can see that he can do it without take-after-take in the studio. Every bit the legend he's touted to be.

I've seen way too many bands to do all of them so i'll go with my favourite, Trivium.
I saw them twice, neither was a headlining slot, the first was The Black Crusade with Machine Head headlining, the second was Unholy Alliance with Slayer. Both times they had a fucking massive stage presence, their performances were absolutely incredible and they managed to get a decent amount of songs from each album they've released instead of mainly focusing on one. I wasn't the only one who thought that at Unholy Alliance they actually managed a bigger stage presence, and as good a reaction as Slayer. And come on, it's fucking Slayer. Although the best thing about seeing a band like Trivium is the complete lack of hardcore dancers, apart from this one fag who tried it for a couple of seconds before getting fucking annihalated (i'm guessing I spelt that wrong).

Breaking Benjamin
Three Days Grace
Argh, two bands I'd love to see live.
also; I still want to see Bayside(anyone seen them, review?) and anberlin
Megadeth:
Totally awesome - good sound, good atmosphere, good pick of the songs.
System of a Down:
I had a seat though, next to a fucking box and there were curtains, but we could see on-stage already, see them readying and stuff - pretty cool.
Massive moshpit.
Voicst:
Fairly recent. Were pretty good, a bit bad sound quality, but a lot of energy and with Feelings Explode totally madhouse.

I saw Bayside on a Victory Records tour awhile back, i'd only heard 1 song before they played their set as I was mostly there for the other bands but they definitely put on a good set and did a pretty good job getting the crowd involved. Can't really give a proper review but if you like the band then I don't see them letting you down if you do get the chance to see them live.

Lucky Bitch.
The only concert i've been to was a Who concert. I had crappy seats, and it was really mediocre.

I've also seen Bayside before when they opened for Anberlin. Meg and Dia and some other bands were there too. But yeah like woodentoast said, if you're a fan of the band, you won't be disappointed. They're pretty fun, and they play great live. Anthony was playing Don't Call Me Peanut and some people in the front near him kept talking and he said "Hey, would you guys like to shut the fuck up? I'm singing a song here." I'd only heard a few songs before then, and I had taken a liking to "I and I" and they played it very nicely.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones- I've seen them once, and they were damn impressive. I wish that they would play Buffalo again very, very soon.
Streetlight Manifesto- I've seen them 3 times, and each time they wow me even more. I love seeing them every time.
Fear Nuttin Band- Holy shit, it was a LOT of energy that night. The singer really got into it, and was constantly on the floor with us.

Iced Earth
You saw that tour too? What date? Saviours' set was way to long, and they were booed off stage.

Well, they're pop-punk at its "best", and it seems that masses of scene girls control their websites. So they will definitely put off the majority of people here. They do have some stereotypical emo songs, but they offset it with harder vocals and harder guitar than many pop-punk bands of today.
Live, however, you can forget what type of music it is. They put on an amazing show. There's explosions (sometimes), confetti flying everywhere, balloons filled with water and confetti bouncing around the crowd, a constantly stage diving lead singer and an energy you couldn't believe. They know how to make the crowd feel like they're there for them and only them, even when it would seem cliche you can feel it. It makes you feel that they truly only care about the music they're making and the show they're putting on, and I'm surprised they have energy like they do every single day of a tour. They're amazing.
I've seen them at Projekt Revolution 2007, Warped Tour 2008, and I'm going to see them opening for Angels and Airwaves in January. I love them.

I haven't been to many concerts; my favourite was The Hush Sound headlining with The Cab and We Are The Take opening. The only other shows I've been to are Kelly Clarkson's show a couple years ago, and I go to my brother's gigs sometimes.
The Hush Sound: Wow. They were really good; they sound even better than they do on their CD. But there wasn't anything too crazy; they're all playing instruments so there weren't any freak-o moves.
The Cab: They were at The Hush Sound show, they were okay. Definitely not as good as their stuff on the CD. The singing, anyways. The band itself was awesome. The bassist has crazy moves and the guitar player was fantastic.
We Are The Take: This band is like, brand new, from Toronto. They're pretty good, actually. Catchy stuff. Not anything totally different. There are only three band members but they did really well.

Best show I have ever been to was Dethklok. Tickets sold out in a day and Chimaira and Soilent Green opened up for them. Chimaira was fucking sick as always and Soilent Green was pretty good. Not a gigantic fan of sludge metal. The creator of the show was on lead guitar and vocals and of course the legendary Gene Hoglan was on drums. They got a bass player and a secondary guitarist and began jamming.
All the lights dimmed and a giant screen was in the back. Every song had a video to it. So, it looked like the ACTUAL band in front of us wasn't there and it was actually dethklok playing. There were little skits in between and it was just so hilarious. Only downfall was that there weren't that many people pitting. It was more of a spectacle show. There were little pits where I went in, but that's about it. Overall, it was a badass show.

Yeah I heard since it's based on a cartoon on [adult swim], it was mostly teenage nerds that went, and not enough metal heads. I was gonna go but it was sold out :(

Yeah a lot of posers were there. I was pitting and some dude got pissed at me cause I "hit into him". He's like "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM!?" I was just confused since he was standing in the middle of a pit. So, I pushed him to the ground and when he got back up, me and this other dude kept roughing him up the entire time.

Good day, I thought I should throw in a review about bloodstock 08 that I attended and some of the best bands there.
Destruction: These guys were great personally my favourite thrash metal band, I waited the entire set change just to get at the front for them, them playing Nailed to the cross was one of the greatest things I've ever witnessed.
Soulfly: 9 thousand people bouncing the entire time with awsomely brutal pits, Max didn't waste time talking he got right down to what everybody wanted, pure awsomness. He threw his combat jacket into the crowd at the end, I wish I had that =[
At the Gates: One of their last ever concerts these guys were THE best there by far, the atmosphere they created was immense, most of the people I talked to said the main reason they came was for them.
Alestorm: Ahhh pirate metal, gotta love it, they came onto the stage with the fresh prince of bel air theme song, and it was a great moment to sing along to Wenches and Mead.
The Bezerker: Fuck me that was brutal, set in the indoor tent it was hot sweaty and very fucking painful, every second was sheer fun though.
There were loads of ace mentionable bands there that i recommend to see live if you get the chance to
Napalm Death
Witchsorrow
EVIL SCARECROW<<<< FUCKING AWSOME
Overkill
Kataklysm
Eluveitie < cant fucking spell it
Iced Earth
Tyr
Helloween
Overall great event !

This guy is so BMTHblows.
I saw Metallica in December, Jesus Christ was that great. They are the one band I have loved since I was born and it was my first time seeing 'em. They sound right off the record.

I love this about any band Max plays with. When I saw Soulfly in November he got right down to business and played song after song. It only took about 10 seconds to transition from one song to another. The biggest gap in a song was when he brought out the drums.
