View Full Version : Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
I've been driving myself crazy for this game ever since I heard it was coming out all the way back in early December.
wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Clancy%27s_Rainbow_Six:_Vegas_2
The game, if you haven't played the first one, is a story based on a group of operatives who are in a Special Ops group known as Rainbow. The storyline is pretty much unknown(as of now), but, seeing as it's a sequel, I'm assuming that it takes off after the first one. The game's release is March 18, 2008
The main reason I made this thread was; is anyone planning on getting this game/is anyone as excited as I am? I literally cannot wait for this game to be released, and I've already preordered it.

HOLY SHIT! FUCK YEAH!!
I really got pissed when they left that fucking Cliff Hanger. I hope they can finish it. What I loved about the game was the selection of weapons. Really I just finished the whole fucking game with the MP7 and the M8 Rifle. Really I hope they don't fuck it up.

The Steyr AUG is in it? Best game ever. I absolutely love the multiplayer in the first one, though I don't own it personally, and from what I'd read the new multiplayer looks to be even better. Now I can skip buying the first altogether!

I bought the first one just because I'm a rainbow fanboy, but, I'd buy it for the storyline. It's pretty deep for a FPS and in the second one they'd probably have a lot of references to the storyline in the first one.

So, um, no one's as psyched as us three are..?

Looks exactly the same as the first one, which was too slow paced and had patheticly balanced weapons.

It's supposed to be closing the Story of Rainbow Six Vegas.
I played the demo for the first one. It wasn't that great; it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be an over the shoulder shooter or an FPS.

The first one was absolute perfection on the PC. The graphics, gameplay, and intensity of Vegas where that of greatness. If the sequel is anything like it's predecessor, then I will be in for another fantastic game. Assuming they make it for PC again that is.
I didn't know they were making a second, so thanks! Now I have another game to look forward to.

I got it for both PC and PS3...I have to say it is way better on PC. The multiplayer was near perfection, whereas PS3 had it freeze a lot. Fantastic game though. Phenominal graphics, great shooter, epic storyline. Can't wait for the second one to come out.

As far as I know it takes place before and during the first one when Logan, Gab, and Kan are in Mexico. You play as another squad leader in Vegas working with Mike and Jung before Logan arrives.

Yeah, and then it's the finale of the series. Pretty excited for it. I'll probably pull two all nighters playing it 'cause I leave two days after I get it for vacation.

Just a quick question about the multiplayer in the game, can you join games already in progress now?

Did Rainbow Six Vegas have any link with Rogue Spear or Raven Shield (the two that came before it)?

I never played those games but I'm pretty sure it's an original story.
EDIT: so when the fuck does this come out anyways?
Next Tuesday. I get it on Wednesday and I'll probably play it fr 24 hours straight 'cause I leave for Texas the next day. :hmm:
If I had enough money to purchase this, GTA4, and the numerous other games I want to purchase, I'd buy this first. I cannot wait to convince my parents into purchasing it.
If Im lucky, that is.
Not sure if this is true, but, earlier today my friend told me of a delay for RSV2. I hope it's not true, but, I'm searching for whether or not it is right now.
Checked the main site, nothing; same with EB games.
These two sites say the 21st, but they're dated for February 5th

It's all my friends have been talking about the past few weeks. Might just rent it since I never played the first one. Rainbow in the name makes it sound gay though.
So does Halo, but look how many people play that game.
I'll put a review in here later. Hopefully soon though.
Meh, nvm. Too much work before I go on vacation.

Does anyone else have this game? I don't think I've seen a whole lot of people on this game.

Unfortunately, it's exactly the same as Rainbow Six Vegas 1.
I don't think so. I mean, sure, lots of aspects are the same, but then again, so are many in other sequels because if you were to change the game completely it wouldn't rightly be a sequel, now would it?

Nah, I played ROgue Spear....nothing related. Woulda been cool, but R6:V was a good stand-alone story.
Too bad my teammates were damned stupid. I wasn't phenomenally impressed with the friendly A.I.
Thought I'd revive this thread. I've recently been wanting to give lessons for this game, just because I can. So, if you've been wondering about getting/renting this game, I'd be happy to give you lesson for the multiplayer to get you started.

Bump.
I decided to get this game for Christmas since it's only like $30 and I loved the first one. Anyone have this. Is it fun? How's the multiplayer? Is it as good as the first one?
Thaaaaaaanks.

I have it for PC, it is a great game altogether, the multiplayer co-op is fun, but it's bread and butter is terrorist hunt. The good thing about it, on the PC at least, was you gained experience through multiplayer modes as well, which unlocked items.
If you liked the first one you should like the second, as I think it far surpassed the first.
I played the game recently and it's pretty good. Theres enough strategys for all weapon types and its cool unlocking new equipment.

The terrorist hunts are fun but they can be a real bitch to complete. Those assholes love to flank you when you least expect it.

Damn, I was hoping they would improve on the graphics. Are they at least better than the first?
And is Terrorist Hunt the only fun thing in multiplayer?

No, it's just the bread and butter, as in it is funner than multiplayer co-op.

Am I the only person who didn't like that game? Granted I had it for 360, the PC version might of been alot more fun but honestly it was just a big zerg first where if you went point you'd get mowed. I got so bored of pathing my men in front of me letting them take the fire, trying my best to give them cover(even if you set your self up on a corner they still run in front of your gun every 3 seconds) and just generally being bored out of my mind. I only just got into the casino, realized it was going to be either throw a flash bang into the door, make the team enter or open it yourself and have 3guys instantly start pummeling the hallway with bullets. I understand the need for tactical breeching some of the time but honestly it gets so repetetive. That and I don't know how they manage to have the enemies look so bland and boring but it just doesn't do it for me.
(Thats coming from someone who absolutely loved rainbow6 and rogue spear back in the days. Honestly ever since i brought ghost recon though the games have just lost their appeal.)

I thought you didn't absolutely hate the game?
