Yesterday I went to the store and bought me a PS3.

Yep, a brand new PayStation 3, right out-of-the-box.

I won't complain to Sony or the store, as long as it works. But if it wouldn't, I would call the president.

It's called a Playstation.

That has to be a practical joke made in the factory, it's just too good to be by accident

So are you going to return it or what? Or maybe the L is sitting at the bottom of the box.

ILuigi
02-02-2008, 12:37 PM
Nah, didn't find the L.

I'm not going to return it. I don't care as long as it works.
Besides, I am the only one with a Paystation. Right ? RIGHT ? AAAAAAARGH

This is both sad and awesome at the same time. Take care of that one man, it's an original.

Haha, I thought it was a sly photoshop job. I was just about ready to call you out on being an egotistical whore for posting pictures of the very console that most people that read this have and love. This is truly special. I bet you that you can e-bay that thing for a good amount more then you payed for it. If it's truly an accident, that's a coincidence. May very well be just a common joke that some bored worker did in spite of being demoted or something.

aahhhh, i came in here ready to say, "Dude, it's spelled Playstation, and then I saw the pictures. That's hilarious. Not sure if I'd rather have a Paystation or a Laystation...

It's a shame you've got no games to PAY for :fmita:

By which I mean; why'd you buy a PS3, you idiot?

ILuigi
02-08-2008, 11:49 AM
There weren't any other consoles at the store.
Except PS2's, but HAY. Backwards compatibility FTW.

Also, I am a fanboy.

Ps3>360. Trust me, i have them both.

Bah. 360 controller is the best. Period. Never met anyone with a PS3, and I don't intend on buying one, so I dunno how they perform. My 360 is good enough for me. And it has Halo, Half-Life 2, and Oblivion.

PS3's good for the Blu-Ray and Metal Gear, thats about it. Almost justifies $400 though.

HappyPalooza

I'd disagree. It also comes with built-in Wi-Fi, which is a necessity for me because of the way everything is set up in my house. Also, I liked their lineup (http://forums.explosm.net/showpost.php?p=359326&postcount=11) (everything in that list is exclusive other than Brutal Legend, Destroy All Humans, and SSBB, obviously).

As for your Paystation, I would've taken it back. Since fanboys were nicknaming it that when it came out, it'd be depressing to me to see it every time I played.

PS3 is a cheap Blu-ray player, which is nice, if you've got the television for it.
If you've got the television for it, the $400 for the 40g, the only model still being produced, shouldn't be a problem.

There's a very good reason behind the Wireless Net adapter for the 360 being $100. That, my friends, is because you'd have to be an idiot to purchase it in the first place, unless you live in the barracks and couldn't get a hardwire connection to save your life. ;[ Consoles really weren't meant to be wireless. So much lag in comparison! Blech!

Also, speaking of exclusive titles, those that are still exclusive to Sony aren't really THAT appealing. I mean yeah, Resistance 2 will be coming out (in like, November) with the entire US as a stomping ground. However, titles like Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry (that being the most recently obvious), and so on are branching out and being bought by both Nintendo and Microsoft as well.

The PS3 isn't a horrible system, don't get me wrong. It's just too expensive and ahead of its time. Generally speaking, the number of people who play games and can afford a PS3 just isn't enough to keep it going. Sony is rolling deeper and deeper into debt, and the discontinuation of the 80g models is only further proof of such.

Okay, enough with bashing Sony. That Paystation rocks. XD

Devil May Cry 4 was originally a PS3 exclusive , but moved onto 360. As for Final Fantasy , FFXIII remains PS3 exclusive and the only FF nintendo will be seeing is crystal chronicles. As of now , there is no planned Final Fantasy for the 360.

As for exclusives , 2008 sees FFXIII , Metal gear Solid 4 , Home , Little Big Planet , KillZone 2 , Resistance 2 (as mentioned) , Tekken 6 , God of War 3, The Getaway 3 and Gran Turismo 5.

So much for not that appealing.

*EDIT*

I realised my post bears no relevance to the thread.

I'd return it if I were you , sure it may work but it's the principle of the matter. They shouldn't be selling defective products.

ILuigi, it may be in your better interest to close this before things get ugly. This thread is gradually turning into a console war. :flamewar:

Also, I agree with Deflicted.

Realistically, if I could get one of each console, I'd die happy. Just pick and choose the games I wanted to play.

I personally am a 360 fan, but that doesnt mean I can't like other things.

I would definitely return that if I were you.

On the subject of getting a PS3, if I had the money I would get one in a heartbeat. Metal Gear Solid 4 and FF13 are going to be great releases, and I will mourn when they are released and I cannot play them.

Kitsuri

I agree totally with BKS, in that any console is awesome. That's why they're on the market. Because Sony and Microsoft are competitors and both are still in the game, each is going to have its own set of followers and own lines of opposition. It's a matter of opinions which console is better than the other, because what might be considered a downfall to one side might be considered otherwise, good to another. (Take for example, PS3's free online service versus paying for Xbox Live.) Now, enough of that!

Also, missing a letter doesn't really count as defective, does it? I mean, defective applies to mechanical failures, I thought.

de·fec·tive
Pronunciation[di-fek-tiv]
–adjective
1. having a defect or flaw; faulty; imperfect: a defective machine.

Therefore it can be classed as defective and you are entitled to a refund.

Awesome job with the semantics.
However, dictionaries probably won't go over well with customer associates. Unless, of course, 'total jerkoff' is your angle.

Defective policies at most retailers deal with mechanical failures, as in, the item is not properly operating. If you can't get over having one letter missing, then maybe you should find something to be critical about that isn't made for simple entertainment.
