Well, I'm not finding time or ideas for fan comic threads, so I guess I'll just crap some stuff in this thread and see if you people enjoy it.
iScribble Drawings (most of which are referenced):
Dakota (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200711/25763_n.jpg)
The Machine (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200706/16763_n.jpg)
Angel (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200705/14435_n.jpg)
Harpoon Joon (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200708/20083_n.jpg)
Bonnie (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200708/20611_n.jpg)
Lindsey (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200710/23164_n.jpg)
House (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200710/23635_n.jpg)
Music Compositions (I must make video game music, dammit!):
No title... (http://www.nanokostudios.com/JA2/files/piano.l_178.mp3)
The Locket (http://www.nanokostudios.com/JA2/files/the_locket_196.mp3)
I might add more, but I'm lazy and my schedule is quite screwy this college semester.

So what's this meant to be?
Just your music?
Or is there meant to be art there too?

I tried to resize the images, but I guess links will have to do...

All of your pictures are pretty cool, except 1 and 5. They're almost in proportion - but not quite. At that closeness to reality, even tiny porportional mistakes are really, really noticeable. Also, kickass coloring.

Picture 2 is my favourite.

You are so good at art, seriously. First, you bombard the fan art and comics thread with a comic every 5 minutes that always makes me laugh, and now this. Keep going man, I love your art!

The Machine and Harpoon Jon are awesome.

Spastic
02-02-2008, 7:19 PM
Angel is magnificent, The Robot is also another great work. The music wasn't that bad either, though like you said it's video game music, but even so the untitled track was pretty good.

Holy crap those are awesome musical. You wouldnt happen to have a larger version or machine or harpoon jon to use as a wallpaper would you?

Angel is the definite best.

Now with MIDI goodness:
Symmetry (http://webzoom.freewebs.com/deathsquawk/Symmetry.mid)
And yes, the song is the same when played backwards.

The art is fantastic. The best was Machine because it totally kicked ass.

Music is pretty sweet. The recording on "The Locket" clips a lot and the C two octaves above middle is out of tune or you hit B at the same time accidently. Symmetry sounds as if you did the reverse note order as an afterthought and from the middle onwards its pretty boring.

I don't need to tell you that your art is good.

Godly
02-03-2008, 7:52 PM
The Machine is horridly awesome and I love the girl in Angel. I don't like the style of wings, but hey, that's just personal preference. All I have to say is, how the hell can you be so good at using iScribble? I checked it out a while ago, and I was absolutely no good with it, I guess it takes practice or something, but man, some of the drawings I've seen done with it are fantastic. Yours are decidedly some of my favorites done with the iScibble style. Well done.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, Symmetry wasn't symmetrical from the start, but keep in mind not everything sounds good backwards, in fact, a lot of things sound like pure shit backwards. It was while I was with friends listening to music backwards for laughs when I played one of my MIDI files backwards and it actually sounded better than when played normally. On the other note, my piano is pretty well-tuned, but some of the keys have issues, such as the A and A flat below my middle C sustain whether I like it or not, and the note you mentioned sometimes brings down the B or C sharp, I just need to find time and money for that though.

Now with boss music midi goodness.
Normal Boss (http://webzoom.freewebs.com/deathsquawk/Boss.mid)
Ocean Boss (http://webzoom.freewebs.com/deathsquawk/OceanBoss.mp3)
The normal boss music was actually the first midi I've ever made, and the Ocean Boss was made a few seconds when a person from Starcraft asked me if I could make a song for one of his maps.

I see you. (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200802/34058_n.jpg)

Why don't you upload to DeviantART?

The songs and pictures are all pretty damn impressive, except like Matt and Relaps pointed out, the first and the fifth, something doesn't quite click about them.

I really liked The Machine. You really should make a wallpaper version of it.

03-11-2008, 4:01 PM
Very nice one you got in the works. You know if I were you Id just go with a light airy instrument in the background and maybe a subtle snare to keep the beat a little. Its got a very small town club by the sea sound to it and I think you should keep that feeling and not add to much other intrumentation. Good work on it so far.

Machine and harpoon jon are my two favorites, with Angel coming in a close third.
You really should post some of your amazing comics.

03-20-2008, 3:12 PM
I really like these. You have alot of talent. My favorite is The Machine. But to be honest, the picture of House looks a lot more like Al Pachino to me though, but it's still great. Great job MI.

This is the sampled version of my composition project, I hope somebody enjoys it.
Samples used:
-Ping (created by hitting the end of a pencil on a music stand)
-Breath (reversed)
-Phone ring
-Fan
-Roar (reversed and very low)
-Zipper (reversed)
-Seat
-Rubber band (time-stretched, it is the most noticeable beat sound)
-Microphone tap
-Hand whistle (melody)

Wow, that's really cool. What program(s) do you use?

I really liked the melody, and I thought the phone ringing bit was going to be gay but it worked well.

MusicalIdiot
05-22-2008, 3:23 AM
I mainly used Digital Performer, but also adjusted some stuff using ProTools. The samples were taken by a very old sampler, an AKAI S3000.

Have you ever tried working with reason?Yes, use Reason, it is very good..well, not easy at the beginning but once you get the hang out of it it's just great.

MusicalIdiot
06-03-2008, 4:06 AM
I rather use Logic Pro than Reason to be honest. Then again, a new program got released somewhat recently: Reaper. I haven't had the time to research it though.

Hey man, really liked symmetry up until the halfway point. Bit pointless in my opinion.

egrai057
06-03-2008, 9:03 AM
Well if he cut it at the half point it wouldn't be symmetric so he'd have to rename it. I suggest "The artist formerly known as Symmetry"... or maybe Prince.

Been a while since I did a drawing:
Person out in the middle of nowhere. (http://www.iscribble.net/gallery/data/200808/70786_n.jpg)
Can't remember the reference used for this picture, just some classical portrait in DeviantArt (just for those who care).

I think you're prettiful just the way you are Misty :shobon:

Well, for whatever reason, it seems though people like the idea of now posting all their comics in their own thread. Might as well join the crowd since I have some they might not have seen yet. Also, I'll just edit this page if I add more comics.

If you look carefully, both of Dave's Mario comics were copy pasted, apart from a slight color change.

The point was to recreate the exact same premise as Dave's comic, without any real change in the context of the humor; not even so much that it could be considered a parody of that comic? :ahe:

MI, your comics made me laugh long and hard and loudly.

I especially love the Ipod and the tubby one, probably because of the crazy letters.
I love you.

Mr. Crow, if it makes you feel any better, I don't plan on making a comic like that one again. I simply found the Bowser comics funny, so I wanted to do one myself. My thought process wasn't "How could I steal that joke?" It was more along the lines of simple fan art. Anyways, sorry for making a comic that lacks originality.

Step 1 (http://www.freewebs.com/deathsquawk/step1.mp3)
Going to try to make a total of five steps to it.

URL is http://www.freewebs.com/deathsquawk/step1.mp3 and I'm not sure why clicking the hyperlink redirects to this page (possible glitch of freewebs?).

Hats of!

Well, it's hard to judge when I haven't heard the other steps, but what I feel is that, at points, it should go a bit slower. It almost sounds as if your hands are falling apart at times. Other then that, it's great.

And yes, I'm aware I made mistakes; but after 30 takes or so, I have to move on. There's more time to perfect later on in my life. Currently working on Step 3 and getting completely lost on where to go with it.
