Explosm: The Invasion

Before we begin, here are some basic game rules:

1. During each round, Everybody votes for a person. The person with the most votes at the end of the round is removed from the game. All votes cast after the 48 hour mark will not be counted.
2. A couple of secret groups, most notably the Invaders, hide amongst you. They have powers that they can activate to help them deal with you. The Civilians goal is to wipe them out, Their goal is to wipe you out. All special power usage PMs must be in by 48 hours after the update.
3. Don’t whine if you get killed in the first round (this means you, Knight of Cydonia).
4. Dead Men Tell No Tales. They don’t post in internet forum games either.
5. EDIT: Screenshots no longer allowed
6.Lying is encouraged.
7. If someone posts in this thread asking to play, and they didn’t sign up, don’t flame them. I’m the mayor so I get to do it.
8. I’m not just the mayor of Explosm City, I’m the Lord Almighty God-King of it. Those who question me without reason shall be smote! If I make a huge mistake like lynching the wrong person then I’ll change it but if its just a typo then Shut The Fuck Up because it either doesn’t matter or I put it there intentionally as a clue.
9. There will be a clue in every post. These clues will be confusing and will point to a myriad of different things. I will not help you find clues, nor will I tell you who they point to. So don’t ask.
10. If you don’t post within the first 3 rounds, you die.*
11. If you whine about your role, you die.*
12. If you bug me about updating, you die.*
13. If you piss me off in any way, shape, or form, you die.*
14. If you receive more than a 1-day TO, you die.*
15. One of the roles might be considered offensive. I don’t care. It’s just a game.

Now then, with that out of the way, let’s begin…


Dauntasa, newly elected mayor of Explosm, sat in his office, pondering the events of the previous week. They had been suspiciously normal. A gang of rowdy teens trashed a store, Old mayor Grim came back from his island hermitage, and there was a man found dead in an alley with a satanic symbol cut into his chest. Nothing big compared to the Werewolves, Carriers, and Evil Spirits of the past. To be frank, he was getting a little bored. Suddenly, he heard a noise. Looking out the window, he saw several 7-foot tall armoured killing machines rampaging down the street. “Ah,” he thought, “That’s more like it.”

After the battle, Dauntasa stood on his podium and surveyed the crowd. DieHard and Shadowpriest were engaged in a rock war over the last bag of chips. Baal Ial was trying to put Coconuts’ hand in a cup of warm water while he slept. Knight of Cydonia was whimpering in a corner, hoping he wouldn’t die in the first round again. Delf was trying to hypnotise History with a pocket watch. Mirrorboy and Davidmanman were organizing a corporate takeover of Green_Rubber_Bands’ lemonade stand. AidanC was trying to swing a can of paint so fast that it would open a portal to hell. BKS and Benjaman were watching Grim and Orlock, who were re-enacting the movie “Saving Private Ryan” with puppets. Shaggmuffin and El Mojado started fist-fighting after a game of hide-and-seek turned violent. Lazypenguin was running around screaming because Delorean told him he had a spider in his hair. Fig Plucker was living up to his new name. Con-con and WillJ. were trying to sneak into the rock war and steal the bag of chips without being seen. Werty was unknowingly about to take a leak in the bush Badumpbumpbump was sleeping in. Blltmssgy and Deimor were searching for Takesoffhat's hat. He'd taken it off a little too fast and it had gone flying into a ditch. Zephyrus, Jewishjosh, and Spastic were attempting to quiet the crowd so that the mayor could speak. Dauntasa tapped on his podium to get the people's attention, and then began to speak.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we may have forced the Invaders into retreat, but we still face a crisis. The Commander of the Marines who assisted us has had several of his men turn into Invaders after the battle. He believes that the Invaders have the power to change their shape and to mimic human speech so that they may hide among us. For these reasons, he has blockaded all of the routes out of the city until such time that they are certain there are no Invaders in our midst. Don't worry though, if we all keep our heads and think rationally, we'll get through this."

The crowd stared at him blankly. One of them piped up and said, "Uh, what's rasshunly mean?"
Frantic Ion
Dauntasa gave an audible sigh, "Just go find the bad guys, then burn them."
Cheers rose from the crowd as they lit their torches and marched off to start the hunt.

I'm going with WillJ here. Delf gets my vote. Its the only clue, besides the hidden letters, that we have. If anyone can figure out what it says/means let everyone know.

This delf thing is looking pretty good. May as well confirm my vote for him now so I don't have to deal with finalizing it later. Not like we're getting any new clues this round anyway, and if someone does find something we can change our votes.

Actually it wouldn't help. I made that anagram by taking two sentences (the first containing 5 words, the second containing seven.) removing all puncuation, and jumbling the letters. Spaces would just add to the confusion.

He once again jumps on a very obivous if unlikely clue, while a far more complex clue is there pointing at his avatar (what kind of clue could be more complex than one telling you that it ismot, indeed, a clue).

Plus, delf sounded to desperate to be a simple monster-type thing, he also made his eperiences with this type of behavior last game and it didn't turn out well for him.

And to be quite frank, it's the first round and the only thing that could really help us has, as of now, remained unsolvable, despite heavy and continued probing, so I'm giving this clue up. Unless someone solves it, my vote is on you Jj, sorry for that.

Um.. word to the wise, don't vote for someone just because they are acting differently (or similarily) to how they were in a previous game. For instance, I acted the same way last game, when I was innocent, as I did when I was a carrier in the penguin game. So just because you see similar patterns all it means is that it is the same person playing the game. Also if they don't post as much, that could very well mean that they have a life out side of the forums.

Zephyrus turned out to be a spirit.
So since it was me, I'll take credit for coming up with the conspiracy theory that turned out to be correct.

(I am not exonerating JJ in this post, I think that him and delf are equally liable to be an invader, I just can't choose yet)

I'm trying hard to keep my mouth shut, but I think delf, jewishjosh, and blltssmgy are all people we need to vote for. Maybe not blltssmgy. However, both of the clues point to delf and jj, while blltssmgy says he "can't decide, and won't vote this round." Same with the other people who aren't voting.
Still, my vote is going to delf, because of the stuff he said that related to Dauntasa. I sort of disagreed with the whole thing.

Remember, you can never be sure who to vote for. But you should still vote, because majority should rule.
EDIT: If Delf posts a screenshot, then he's clean in my book. Also, blltssmgy is probably not an alien because he told Delf how to post a screenshot :/

Just because we can't decide who we want to vote for doesn't mean we are guilty of anything, except for making an attempt to make smart decisions.

The reality is that in these games, most of the kills are innocents accusing innocents. So just because someone votes for a citizen, that doesn't mean the voter is guilty.

And in case anyone cares, since this'll just sound like I'm trying to save my own ass, I didn't think the delf clue was obvious at all, in fact I completely missed it. It only seems obvious now that someone's found it.

If you ask me, this Infraction clue is more promising. You actually had to work a bit to understand the clue, which makes it that bit more believable.

Evaluation tells you if the person is under the effects of mind control, Curing them removes the control. To Cure someone, they must already have been evaluated. If you are not active before round three, you will be removed from the game.

I'm sorry JJ, but, as I already pointed out, I had spent quite some time trying to decode this stupid anagram and could just not be bothered to recheck my facts.
I will, however, not renounce my vote as my gutfeeling turned out to be correct and delf seems to be innoccent. Desperate move there, but just surviving one more round is better than dying in the first. We don't want another infection disaster to happen.

Go to the screen, then press the "Print Screen" button your keyboard (it should be above "insert"). Once you do this, open a new photoshop (or whatever you have, even if it is MS Paint), and make the resolution of the picture in that application the resolution of your computer screen (Ex. Say if your comp. is set to 1280x1024 resolution, then set the size of the picture to 1280x1024). Once you do that right click and select paste (or do ctrl+v) and the image should be there. Next save the file, and upload it to any site (just google free image uploading, I personally usually use allyoucanupload.com, I think that is the site). Once you do that, find the url for the image and put it in a post.

Maybe you should've posted at the cut-off time so we didn't keep changing our votes. Anyway, this thrilling news prompted me to go through and count up the votes for myself, but a few people had edited their original posts to avoid vote-change confusion so I don't actually know what the vote count was 48 hours after the thread was created, but I trust Dauntasa does.

Kwanza perma'd blltmssgy in October for the reason "Invader" then unbanned him for the reason "wrong guy." So this could mean bllt is an invader, isn't an invader, or neither (this was edited into the place of UCLA TONE - not a clue). God dammit Dauntasa.

EXPLOSM: THE INVASION PART TWO: THE LYNCHENING


Jewishjosh backed against a wall as the angry mob advanced upon him.
"Come on guys, don't you think this is a little extreme?"
"No", said the mayor, " now stand still so we can do horrible, horrible things to you."
The mayor gave the signal, and in seconds the mob was upon him. Horrible things were done, and a good time was had by all. Except Jewishjosh. If the screaming was any indication, he wasn't having very much fun at all. After the lynching, there was a party to celebrate (even though a quick looting of Jewishjosh's house had turned up his Militia ID card and uniform). During the party, Delf drank a little too much and started dancing shirtless in the street. Unfortunately, he danced a bit too close to an open manhole, and was quickly dragged down into it and never seen again(well, chunks of him were seen, but those don't really count). Shortly after Delf's death, the party started to break up. It sorta put people off, y'know. But before everyone could go home, they heard Shaggmuffin's screams coming from an alley. Everybody rushed over, and saw that he was being brutally beaten by several pipe-wielding men in black cloaks. When they saw that they had been discovered, the cloaked men ran off down the alley, leaving a severely injured Shaggmuffin laying on the ground. The militia chased after them, but lost track of most of them. They did get one, But they couldn't take any credit because he was dead before they even found him. Because they couldn't recognize his face(he'd been shot up pretty badly) they had to perform a DNA test to find out that the dead man in the cloak was Demoir. The death of one of the bad guys renewed the hope of the survivors. They had lost two innocents, but at least the day hadn't been a total waste. It was getting late, so everyone said goodnight and went home, hoping that tomorrow would be a better day.

First, directed to BKS, as I stated before, it did say that I was an invader, but in that thread where the invaders came, I told them what they were doing was not cool, and Kwanza didn't realize that, and if you look rather than just voting to kill someone off, it'll say that it was reverse and that I was not an invader and there isn't anything more blatantly obvious than that that I can give you.

To Shadowpriest, exactly. Before it showed that thread, it showed UCLA TONE, which is rearranged to read NOT A CLUE, on top of that, again the last clue in white letters we got ended up killing a militia man, a person that was helping citizens kill the invaders and the new mysterious cloak people.

Not to mention Shadowpriest, you vote for me because you have no other suspicions, except for a thread that was in a place that said not a clue and this thread stated that I was not an invader.

Explosm: The Invasion: Chapter Three: Like a Hurricane


The catapult was finally ready, so the mob tied Badumpbumpbump up and placed him inside. Cheers rose from the crowd as he flew off into the distance and was destroyed by a missile from the Marines at the blockade. They had notified the Marines earlier, and had told them to send up a flare when they had analyzed Badumpbumpbump's DNA. They would send up a Green one if he was human, and a Red one if he was an Invader. As the mob waited, their anticipation grew. Finally, a flare shot up into the sky. It was Green. The mob split up and went home, depressed and confused. On the way home, one of the mob members noticed a strange glow coming from an alley. He investigated it, and found a number of black candles and the corpse of Blltmssgy, who had been stabbed to death. He called everyone else over, and they arrived just in time to see Blltmssgy shape-shift back into his true form, that of a Invader. The mob, having just decided that Blltmssgy was innocent, was even more confused by this turn of events. They felt like they couldn't do anything right. Every decision that they had made so far had been wrong. If things didn't get better soon, they would wipe themselves out...

The only link I really see to that is the fact that its a song on Guitar Hero 3 and so is Knights of Cydonia. I'd expect a clue for him to be something about Muse, but if Daunt is stretching things like the Registered Asshole he is, it could be the clue.

Actually that is a pretty good clue, but banwaggoning has its advantages and disadvantages. I mean we killed an innocent last round because of it, but we almost killed an alien because of it too(we still technically did). So it's really just a 50-50 shot here, it's either we find a better clue or we stick to the one we have for now.

If you haven't yet noticed, Dauntasa has been setting out 3 clues per round, one for attacker, one for invader, and one for the cloak guys. The cipher is invader, so neither me nor Cydonia are invaders, and last time I checked, I'm not a cloak-guy.

And, doesn't this all just seem a little too obvious anyway? The Knight of Cydonia GH3 clue wasn't that much of a stretch, and it was complicated, and makes alot more sense. Therefore, I vote for Knight of Cydonia

Damn, it took a long time for you to notice this. Just so you know, I didn't make this code myself. It's been used before. If you find out what code it is, it shouldn't take you long to translate the message. And by the way, the solution to my impossible anagram is: NICE WORK ON THE ANAGRAMS. JUST SO YOU KNOW, DELF IS INNOCENT. It only would have helped you if you had found the solution during the first round. I'm giving you the solution for two reasons. 1. It won't help you now anyway and 2. While it would have been amusing, I would not have welcomed the torrent of abuse I would have recieved if someone had, after hours of working on it, solved it and realized that it was useless. I managed to bring it back to life with the System Restore disk but it took 6 hours and I lost all my files and applications(including Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, the program that makes my mouse work, and Flash Player).
