List 1-5 and name the greatest song/album of your favorite genres, like this:
(Copy + Paste)
1, Progressive Rock
Why?
A break from Mainstream-crap. Long song, complex lyrics and instrumental. Smart and it's like a complete "Fuck You" towards bands like Spice Girls.
It's rock without bounds.
Album: Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Song: Supper's Ready - Genesis
Band: Pink Floyd
2, Psyc/Brittish Invasion
Why?
Britts are better at music then Americans. It's catchy, smart and nice towards your ears. Good artists too.
Album: Tommy - The Who
Song: Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - The Beatles
Band: The Who
3, Glam-Rock
Why?
Next best thing to prog in the 70's. Unlike artists today that claims to be flameboyant, this is the thing.
Album: Roxy Music - Roxy Music
Song: All the Young Dudes - Mott the Hoople
Band: David Bowie
4, Heavy Metal
Why?
Before the metal's change towards an own genre it was still rock. And artist dared to mix folk or prog into it to a level were they didn't mix it. I'm very pleased about that.
Album: Led Zeppelin I
Song: Babe I'm Gonna Leave You - Led Zeppelin
Band: Early Queen
5, Folk/Plain Rock
Why?
Pretty much the same as 2, good music.
Album: Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
Song: Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
Band: Bruce Springsteen
