View Full Version : First PC-Made Anime Character
Well everytime I got bored at school I started drawing anime-like characters, this is the first one I make in the computer, it's not very good but i'll try to improve it.
It's actually very basic, Dragon Ball Z hair style

The proportions on it are terrible.

I really hate being mean, but you need to learn how to draw. Plain and simple truth, dude. Most, if not all, professional anime artists have studied actual human anatomy, and then exaggerate bits and pieces of it (eyes, hair, etc) to more easily show emotion and define characters. That's pretty much what anime is.
You, on the other hand (and you're far from alone) are just trying to reproduce something you've seen on TV without actually understanding the process behind it.
If you're serious about drawing in this or any style, I suggest taking some tutorials at the very least. If you're "just doodling" or whatever, I guess you can ignore this whole post, but simple doodles don't warrant their own threads.
Matterialize I really appreciate your advice, I'll sure study drawing, I was just bored and started trying to draw something, it turned out pretty bad

Yeah, learn up. Be prepared to be very frustrated, but it feels good when you finally produce something worthwhile.
That's terrible. Do not start by drawing anime. The only thing that can make a bad drawing look even worse is if it's attempted anime.

What the heck is up with his hair? He kinda looks retarded.
Uhh... well, at least it's a start! But really, I'd suggest not trying to draw animé until you can draw real drawings well, otherwise, it won't turn out very good.
But keep practicing none the less, and if you like drawing animé then I guess you can keep drawing it, but don't expect to get anywhere while using that style to practice and better yourself with.

Criss, there are alot of books that can help you learn anatomy. The oldest trick for anime is to start with a bunch of shapes and then add detail to it. For example, an oval for the head and body, rectangles for the limbs, etc.
Go hire out some books to help you out. Try life drawing (If you are old enough). Get one of those posable art figurines. This is definitely not worthy of showcase, nor its own thread. Practice drawing real life, then anime, then come back here in a few years time.
Not bad if you're just starting out. Start out with drawing individual anime body parts, like a nose, hair, mouth, etc, and slowly evolve it into something.
The hand's going into his crotch kind of threw me off for a bit.
Wow, honestly, there's nothing good about the drawing.

You should stick to stick characters. You don't really know proportions, so yeah...
Oh, and anime is for fags (C) Urser

I love you

Due to the quality of the distinct lines, it might have been better if the color had been the same.

I'd rather the whole thing be white so I wouldn't have to see it.
