Man that game is hella fun.
It makes me want to take up skateboarding again.

I played it at my friend's house, it's pretty sweet. I like how they totally re-vamped the control scheme, using the analogs to ollie and turn and do basic fliptricks is hella awesome.

HOLY SHIT I just went to their site. I've never even heard of this game until this thread, but it looks like soooo much fun. I've been waiting years for a game like this, an actualm, realistic skateboarding game. Tony Hawk hasn't been fun since like #2. Those games are grossly un-realistic. Also the controls seem to have the same idea as Fight Night, which is one of my favorite games.

Where can I get a demo of this?

On the 360.

I like it, and I've hated Tony Hawk games. If I wasn't saving up for GH3 and Halo 3, I'd defintely be getting it on release.

I just downloaded and played the demo. Fun stuff. Buying it release probably.

It's a rental for me, I was never a large fan of skateboarding/skateboarding games.

Pretty much same here. I can't find the motivation to master them, because there's not much incentive for it.

Much better than the Tony Hawk games in my opinion. Maybe now when you play people online that won't do that bullshit "find a really long wire and sticker-slap back and forth on it" combo that was cheap as hell.

Much more challenging too. Those manuals can be brutal.

Skate can go 1 of 2 ways. I mean sure getting the feel of skateboarding would be cool but it could take so much time to perform simple moves. Plus getting it too realistic could be extremely boring, considering that you could just go outside and skateboard. The thing about TH games is that they're unrealistic and thats what makes them fun. It's fun flying 50 feet in the air getting thousands of points. It probably wouldn't be that fun doing simple moves like real skateboarding.

Completely agree.

The point of video games is slowly being missed, as they cross the line between fantasy and reality. If I wanted to go outside and waste my time fiddling trying to do crazy stunts on a skateboard, I would. But, I don't. I want to sit in my room, tap a few buttons and see some cool things get done.

I played it, it was so awesome. I've been watching skate pretty closely and i must say it lives up to my expectations. Maybe some times it wasn't exactly sensitive enough to what trick I'd want to do. Like for some of the harder tricks you'd have to do a mix between a shove-it and a flip trick. Much of the time I'd get a 360 shove it, because it thought i just rolled the analog stick along. Overall great demo, and the time limit was good, other wise I'd just keep playing and playing.

My friends are beside me playing the demo.

They've been playing it for about 3 hours. =/

I remember the thread about this and everyone was saying it'd suck. Personally, I wouldn't buy it, but I played the demo and I'd definitely rent it.

It's not like you could just "fiddle" around and do what you can do in this game. Hell, you probably wouldn't even get off the ground.
It's replicating being a professional skateboarder and then some, which for most people is not reality.

I think it's kind of cool. But nothing to be really 'woohoo' about. I like how the right thumbstick controls nearly everything you do.

I just finished playing it, and it is very good. I really enjoyed it, and although it took a little getting used to, once you pull off a 360 kickflip-to-grind you feel really proud. :D

Not Enjoi.

Nor Mystery. But both boards suck and are prone to snapping.

It’s a cool game. God help me if I am ever proud of any thing I do on a video game though.

Enjoi's been on the TH games. Anyway.

I finally played the fucknig demo yesterday and I played in awe the whole time. With me, having skated in teh past and whatnot,(still not retired entirely), playing this game, makes me feel great. Just watching the guy land almost falling sometimes is awesome, and grinding is really awesome too. The only complaint i do have, is when it comes to going up a vert, it gets a little weird with the camera angle.

I am buying this when it comes out. It's fun, trying to do new tricks. Also, its weird, how you can barely hear the music, but then you get the multiplier up to like, x3 and it gets louder. Then you get it(if you are able) to a x4 the colors brighten and the music is loud and clear.

I still am gonna try out the TH game though, because they are great games too and can't wait to try out the new stuff for it.

I tried it yesterday at a friend's. I kept doing back flips and actually landed it twice, but it didn't count as a back flip, just the kick trick I did with it. I found one of the most entertaining parts was watching the guy in slow motion just completely lifeless on the falls.

yeah the falls are kind of disappointing and cheesy. Although pretty much every other game has that type of ragdoll. The skating seems realistic and I'm considering getting it but I'm saving up for a new computer so I don't know.

I hope someone can add some feedback if they get it or rent it. Looks like a solid game.

So I played the demo, and I have to say it will take a lot of getting used to. I mean, it seems simple enough, but it gets extremely hard when you want to get big air and pull of huge tricks, you have to always remember to press A to get speed and always remember to do the "flick it" when you need to jump. Honestly I can see that getting boring very quick.

It may be just because I am not that good, or I dunno. But it seems like I got all I could get from Skate from that demo. I mean you ollie, you can get some air, you can twirl around, how much fun can you really have with that?

TH is gay because:

1. It didn't need 30 sequels.
2. It had stupid story lines.
3. It spawned a whole mess of poseur kids that thought skating was as easy as having their mommies buy them 200 dollar setups and pulling off 3 flips.

There are probably more reasons but w/e.
Bam Margera is a faggot.

I dunno, accidentally hitting A instead of flicking while going towards a pole then doing a cartwheel was pretty entertaining. But I see what you mean, a couple of times I didn't bother with getting speed and just flicking the right stick in random directions. Did anyone notice how grinds are a lot different now? Personally I really like that it doesn't have the balance meter from TH.

I downloaded it, it was pretty fun. I thought it was going to be another tony hawks copy, but it wasn't...I also like how realistic it was, with the control scheme and such....Total opposite of tony hawks...I might get it, but I really really sucked at it.

I loved the demo and hated the timer... one problem. vert skating is a little hard in that demo. hopefully the game will improve on that.

Also, I ALMOST got a 720 quad kickflip. So close. But, I did not. and to the above post. I have not seen a tony hawk clone since tony hawk.... wasn't TONEE HAWX!!!!11111111!!!!!!!! But this game did reinvent the control to skating. The most I've done past the basics is one Laser Flip, ever, and a varial kick/heelflip from time to time (mostly on accident)

Ok, I played the demo again at a friend's and had the funniest glitch happen. I was doing the best trick contest, and it was at the spot with the three rails. I went up to the farthest on the right, tried to grind, nutted myself on there, stayed there while it was in slow motion ragdoll, then what happens? A CPU SKATER TRIES TO GRIND ON THE GUY'S CROTCH. So for about 5 seconds there was this guy with a skateboard on his crotch, haha.

To those bitching about doing tricks, you all blow ass man. Honestly. I can do 360 flips, hard flips, heel/kickflip varials, inwards, and the other advanced tricks easier. I will admit doing vert is a bit awkward.

I uploaded a video, but the Skate website to view it, acts stupid and wont let me log in properly. I'm not the only one who has the problem, lots of users has it.

I can do like, tre flips(360 flips for those who dont know) to a nose manual out with a inward heel or something. I'm going to buy it when it comes out.
