Yeah, so I've been having a bit of trouble getting motivated recently. I've looked at all the unfinished projects I've got going on (I WILL update my blog eventually...) and in the end the only thing I've put serious effort into is a couple of new poems I've been working on. I'll only post one up here, the other's soppy as fuck, but it's been a fucking long time since i've really written any so I don't actually know if it's great or crap. Also this is a departure since i normally retain a tight rhyming scheme throughout.

Anyway, here it is:

US and Them

Blood is black now
The thick ichor of sin traded free
For the rich red that is our resource.
This is not the common goal of course
Our trade only lines Their pockets

They built the two sided conflict,
Let Them demonise me for my side
My blood still runs red, though unproven
Furthering apocalyptic divide
For the crowns in Their board rooms and manses
As I clutch at an early goodnight

They say We’re not tyrants for their gain
That We are bringing our life to others
But in my life I live freely
And my house does not blaze from ‘progress’
And no demon am I for defending.

I think of the world to the east
Shadowed on the brightest day
Fist round seventy million
Crushed if they attempt progress
As They claim terror is their trade

Bravo, When I first saw the title I thought of the Pink Floyd song Us and Them.

I really wish I were a poet, it would make writing songs SO much easier. My brother is a much better poet than I, but I am a much better musician. We make a good duo.
