View Full Version : My visit to a creepy abandonded hospital

One of the most terrifying urban exploration locales in my city here is known as the Charles Camsell Hospital. Named after a famous Canadian trailblazer, the hospital was opened up in 1946 to treat tuberculosis cases, primarily for the aboriginal community. It stayed open until 1996 when it was closed down, replaced by another hospital more central to the city. The place was left as if, all the staff, patients, just up and left one day, leaving everything behind. Books, pictures, flowers, paintings, everything. Beds were still seen to be made, equipment left all over the hospital.
Now, twelve years later, the place is a pretty torn up. The building has gone through a few owners, but for some reason, they always sell it shortly after. The building has been attempted to be demolished a few times, construction crews in and out of there, but something always stops them.
Being typical teenagers with a knack for exploring, we set out to check this place, and went with a little bit of history from it to make the experience even more terrifying.
There's a severe lack of pictures, I'm waiting on more of them being uploaded from my friend's camera. Also, as will be mentioned in the story, we're heading back next week to venture in deeper and we'll be armed with a video camera. Enjoy!
So, the day starts. We pull up to the gated courtyard of the hospital, we figure we're fucked, it's not an easy gate to climb (plus, I'm not much of a climber). We scale around the outskirts of the fence and eventually find a hole in it big enough for us to fit through, so us three squeeze through and go in. When you enter the courtyard, you're greeted with this wonderful looking building:
http://photos-h.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v215/173/36/645326567/n645326567_706239_8261.jpg
Not very friendly now, is it. To get a better look of the hospital, front view:
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/4936/camsellhm5.jpg
That building is so intimidating up close, it feels like every window has eyes looking down on you.
Now, as you can sorta see in the picture, construction crews and the owners have made an effort to keep people out. Us being crafty, we head into the next locale to look for an entrance.

The boiler room was not a fun time. The room was absolutely covered in bird shit, plastered with drywall, glass and nails. First, we scoped up, then low.

Some nice, heart-warming graffiti. Made me feel even less terrified.

We couldn't get the top cabinet open, the rest were already opened with files scattered all over the room.

Another wonderfully strewn room.

You can see the mere mass of dirt on the ground, glass, and other shoe-friendly crap.
http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v197/173/36/645326567/n645326567_707333_7169.jpg
We didn't have the balls to go down there, it was pitch black (the camera flash doesn't do that any justice)
There's a few more pictures of the boiler room that I can post on request. Anyways, after looking around the room a bit, we found our path to the innards of the hospital. It was NOT a nice one. (PICTURE COMING SOON, WAITING FOR UPLOAD BY MY FRIEND).
What it essentially was, a pitch black tunnel, about as wide as your arm span, wires and shit hanging off the roof and covered in glass, and blood stains. Yes, blood stains (not the only occurrence of the day).
At first, we start to go down the stairs leading to the tunnel, and I almost cut my hand. Why? Some jackass has wrapped barb wire on the railing, I failed to see it in all the rush. We go down the stairs and start to look down the impending doom, when we start hearing a blood-curdling scream. We hear the door to the stairs slam shut, as we run back up the stairs and open it and run back into the boiler room. We take a deep breath, convince ourselves that it was just birds down there, so most likely just a false alarm. We venture down again.
We have absolutely no pictures of inside the tunnel, we pretty much ran the 500 meters into the hospital basement. Something about the tunnel, just felt so.. wrong, so bad. Once we got to the basement, we were greeted with some terrifying surroundings.
http://photos-g.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v67/189/5/127800041/n127800041_30007870_6507.jpg
Yeah, really horror-esque. If you look to the near bottom right of the picture, part way down the hall, it really does look like there's someone in a mask looking straight at us.
The entire basement was torn up like this. Again, it was pitch black, but the camera flash makes it seem otherwise.
http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v67/189/5/127800041/n127800041_30007869_6227.jpg
The atmosphere of the place alone is enough to scare you, or us. We were shitting our pants at this point, especially with the scream. We continue to look into some of those open doors, and that's where we found we needed to leave. We enter a room, and we look over to one of the walls. On it is a blood splatter and a trail of blood leading from the splatter, on the floor, then up the other wall into and out a broken window. We see this, look at it for a second, then we start hearing shit which was probably just because we were scared. We bolt.
We didn't get a picture of the blood, but since that's such a ridiculous sounding story, when we go back next week we'll be sure to get a picture.
Our goals for our trip next week further expand this trip. We're going to venture up to the 4th floor, otherwise known as the Psychiatric Ward, as well as the Morgue. I'm terrified, but so intrigued to see more.

Woah Kwanza, that is an awesome story. Can't wait to see more photos and hear about your next trip. I'll have more of a look when I get home from work, but it looks like the perfect place to film a scary movie.
Also, I hope you don't die! Next time bring torches and gaffa tape :)
Dude, the Psychiatric Ward and The Morgue? You've got some balls on you.
Oh and I hope you were wearing masks.

Are you sure the blood wasn't just paint or something?
Really cool story. There's an abandoned hospital not too far from where I live. I've always wanted to spend a night in there, maybe one day I will. Hope to see more soon.
Also I agree with Tranny, take some torches with you next time and maybe a knife or a blunt object, but that's just me because I'm a paranoid fuck.

We actually weren't, those signs were inside the hospital, so we just kinda hoped that we'd be fine. When we head back next week, we'll have masks.
Are you sure the blood wasn't just paint or something?
We're certain it was blood, the splatter was too realistic looking. Plus, there was mounts on the floor, we think it used to be an old surgical ward.
If I were the owner, I would seriously just nuke the place.
That's really fucking creepy.
also, found this on google:

Wow. The first aid station is filled with asbestos. :ahe:

Great, that totally explains the scream I think?
And makes me even more excited to go to the morgue! Hurray!
Do you think there'll still be bodies in the morgue? Or will it most likely be all emptied out?
You would hope it would have been emptied out.
I'm more worried about the Psych Ward, some crazies could have escaped the new hospital and gone back there - you never know.

I am officially freaked out of my mind... just from reading this. You've got some major balls, man.
There's an abandoned hospital in my city that teenagers "visit" a lot. Apparently a kid died there a few years back when he was "visiting" because a floor board broke and the kid got impaled on a pipe under the floor or something. That alone made me not ever want to go, although I am very curious about it...
Asylums and abandoned hospital are probably one of the scariest place's you could probably go or imagine going, I'd probably get in the door's and turn around but I'm interested to see more pictures.

I went to this abandoned asylum a few months ago, and yeah, it was really creepy. You could look in the windows and see all the writings on the walls and stuff of insane people, and one of the windows had a stuffed animal rabbit that I guess one of the inmates sewed, and I could have sworn I saw a blood stain on it.

Next time bring every piece of first aid equipment you can think of. I can really imagine you guys cutting yourselves on something rusty and/or bloody in that place. Barbed wire for example, and you guys weren't even that far in by that stage.
And rope.
My main concern for you is the asbestos.

Take torches and metal poles next time, you don't know what kind of nutta your gonna find in a place like that. Awesome photos man, look forward to seeing more.
Fuck worrying about the asbestos and taking a first aid kit. I'd be more concerned with getting myself a crucifix and some holy water.

The hospital is probably inhabited by a few homeless people. It's possible that they made the (maybe fake) blood splatters and set up the barbed wire and stuff to scare people away. For all you know, they were following right by you, making little noises to freak you out.

Sounds like fun, steal some medical equipment.

Dried blood is black, not bright red. It was probably painted by some previous explorer to freak people out.
Awesome pictures though.

Load up on spoiled morphine if you find some, you'll feel invincible and scour those dark areas. And bring flashlights.
On one hand I'm a little taken back at how you had the guts to enter an abandoned hospital with a lot of asbestos (which is notorious for killing miners who don't think it's such an issue), but on the other I'm really fucking jealous :wail:
How much of it have you explored? Are those last three areas the very last three areas you haven't seen?
Kwanza

Guess I should get this straight, the blood we saw on the wall looked nothing like the HELP. It was dried, blackish brown blood.
How much of it have you explored? Are those last three areas the very last three areas you haven't seen?
Those are as far as we got, others have briefly explored other floors, but a lot of people get creeped out around the third or fourth, some bolt for the roof just to see the view.
Do you think there'll still be bodies in the morgue? Or will it most likely be all emptied out?
Of course it'll be emptied out, but I'm expecting to feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable in that room, regardless of actually seeing or hearing something scary. A room that was once filled with so many dead bodies, just can't have a nice vibe.

I feel the same, I kind of wish there was somewhere by me like that. You should definitely take loads of stuff next time, just in case, like people have said, torches are obvious, first aid kit again obvious because that barbed wire could be rusty. Take some food and drink as well, and a phone, in case you got trapped or something.
Can't wait to see some video footage.

We want to take stuff with as little value as we can and we're going to be pretty careful with the video camera. We had a phone, and water bottles in a backpack but I'm sure we could do better. The place could very well be riddled with homeless people, may not be.
I think torches are overdoing it a lot, we can do fine with a flashlight and a few spare batteries. We found one flashlight that had been gutted, another shattered, so we'll be sure not to be so careless.
The barbed wire is definitely a major concern, it could've been wrapped anywhere, so we're gonna be a lot more careful.

I meant flashlight when I said torch, just had another idea to protect from the barbed wire, gloves of some kind, some of those thick thermal kind that are padded out with wool and stuff, should give you a pretty big layer of protection.

Cool pictures there. Some people have been saying about psychopaths being in there, but how would they survive in there unless they came out to get food/water etc in which case they would be seen so i don't think so.
Looking forward to going seeing more pictures just be careful of any medical waste/seringes or anything like that you don't know what sort of things that might be around.

After reading the aforementioned document (quoted below as well) I would recommend taking as much of those files as possible you found on the floor. Chances are the hospital DID just evacuate due to political pressure given the sensitive 'experiments'. I doubt anything will be there but you never know, people make mistakes in a hurry.
In June of 2003, Kevin Annett who has been working to expose the Residential School Abuse and experiments in Canada on native children spoke of medical experimentation at the Charles Camsell Hospital in Edmonton. The Camsell Hospital operating with federal government funds and protection was a notorious place where native children from Alberta and northern British Columbia were surgically sterilized and subjected to involuntary experiments.
Kevin's interviews of some of these unfortunate victims show us a picture of young children who were forced to carry bodies of dead kids out of the Camsell hospital to a secret burial site on the hospital grounds. Afterwards they were subjected to electric shocks to fog their memory of the dead children.
Kevin stated that a middle aged native woman referred to "the eye experiments" at a residential school. She said "they were trying to change our eye color from brown to blue".
This particularly caught my attention since the change of eye color was a pet project of Auschwitz "doctor" Joseph Mengele aka Dr. Black as I knew him who I allege worked alongside Dr. Ewen Cameron, Sid Gottlieb and others.

I found some reassuring news about the asbestos.
Although I cant find the original news article, I found a copy. Link (http://www.uer.ca/forum_showthread_archive.asp?fid=1&threadid=32976&currpage=1&pp#post11)
Construction workers were reportedly at the building exposing asbestos, which would then be sealed or removed.
Booth said Alberta Environment was called to the scene but didn't find harmful levels of asbestos in the air.
Keep in mind, this articles from November 17, 2006.

The doctors over there were pretty twisted weren't they? I'm a bit jealous too, because I live on a shitty little island which can't afford to leave any land unused. Can't wait to hear about the next visit.
Naturally occurring asbestos isn't going to be at a hospital site (else it would have been constructed elsewhere or removed if the quantity isn't too large) so the asbestos there was obviously material made out of an asbestos mineral. I'd say it shouldn't be too much of a problem, really.

Wow, thanks for this. You guys are really helping out, there's a lot more drive to go back now.
The filing cabinet in the boiler room contained these circle-shaped papers:

I'm not sure exactly what they were, didn't get a good enough look. Anybody with hospital/medical knowledge to know if they're part of some sort of patient testing?
Since they were in the boiler room, I think it's safe to assume they were used to record the temperature fluctuations of the boilers, but I could be very wrong.

Oh my heebie geebies. Next time you go, let someone other than us explosmers know, just in case some freaky shit happens, people will know where to find you guys.
You should also get your hands on an infra-red themometer so you can find 'hot spots'--really cold spots, all the sensitive areas where the spirits inhabit. they say that those areas are always freezing cold. Take pictures of the temp gauge for proof.
Props to you my friend for attempting this in the first place, you couldn't give me all the Christian Louboutin shoes in the world to step foot in that place. Aren't they a little big to be CD holders? Also, I don't think the hospital would be storing stuff on CDs and they certainly wouldn't keep them in the boiler room. They'd be in the file room.

I know what you mean. I'd like to re-enforce that I'm not really trying to make it sound like the place is haunted, my feelings towards the paranormal are completely undecided.
What I can say, is from a mixture of the place's history and all the surroundings, you really do feel like people are in there, staring at you, and really upset and angry. It's just the vibe you get in a place like that.

this hospital appeared in a show in VH1 right?
Honestly, it's amazing what those rumours Scribs posted were. I was expecting something a little less dramatic (government really needs hospital staff to move elsewhere in a case of some emergency so they pretty much avoid the current hospital -- something along those lines) but it actually has a pretty substantial history behind it.
It's weird how you enter these places feeling scared when realistically the chances of something significant happening is really low. Thank god for games and films really, else I doubt your exploration would be anywhere near as enthralling.

I have a barn about a mile away from my house where the owners used to torture their animals. Obviously, me and my friends have been in and around their many times, it is really creepy. I wish I had pictures, but at the moment I don't. There is a saw outside of it with old dried up brown blood on it, and on the inside there is about four dead cats lying on the ground on the top floor.
Pretty nasty.
But anyways, I wish i could go with you dude, that shit is fucking awesome.

Seriously Kwanza, I'm sitting here at home and I'm creeped out. That whole story is just too scary. I already hate active, normal hospitals. That abandonned one, I can just imagine all the freak looking doctors I had before being in there.
I'd love to see what's in the cancer room, the one with all the warning signs on it.
About the morgue, I once accidently took the elevator down there as a kid. It was fucking scary. Good luck with the abandonned, dark one.
Damn, this is really creepy. A while back, me and a few friends were gonna go to the State school in the town next to us, which was pretty much an Insane Asylum, but we never did.
A library in that town was actually featured on Ghost Hunters.

Whoa, cool story man.
There's actually an abandoned hospital area near where I live. It was originally a psychiatric ward but was used as a military hospital in both world wars.
I've checked it out but never been in any of the buildings. I want to go in one day though, would be extremely freaky. You had guts going in.
EDIT: The exterior of it was also used for filming the movie "The Jacket"
Fuck that dude, I would never ever do anything like that. Your nuts.
Am I the only one who could see a horror movie with homeless people killing people in this hospital?

Those circles of paper kind of look like filter paper, commonly used in Chemistry. However the rings on them lead me to believe otherwise, so I'm not entirely sure anymore.
I can't wait till you go back, this type of shit is always awesome to read about. If you do end up taking a camera for your next trip (as well as the video camera), take a spare in case some freaky shit goes down and your camera decides to stop working suddenly.

This is easily the coolest thing i have ever seen in the GF. You really have some cojones to go down in their, especially the morgue.

Actually those circle document looking objects look like a collection of "Circular Slide Rules." We still use them today in the Navy from anything like correct temperatures for a proper pilot light to the estimation of pressure of coolant liquid given different circumstances. Basically they have an interchangeable piece that fits in the middle to act as the pointer or gauge hand (note the holes in the middle of the paper). Also I noted the varying dark lines within the middle which I could tell could be scales. Considering they were in the boiler room only reinforces my suspect as to what they are. Probably worth some historical value if so. You might want to collect the lot of them (don't try and clean them up) and bring them to an appraiser of sorts. Here is a picture of what I mean about circular slide rules:
http://ed-thelen.org/comp-hist/TheCompMusRep/TCMR-V18-P11.jpg
Circular slide rules operated on the same principle as straight slide rules, but they took up less space. Both William Oughtred and his student Richard Delamain claimm to have first thought of the circular slide rule.
(1) A general circular slide rule. Gift of Stanton Vanderbilt.
(2) This slide rule was used by pilots to estimate arrival times, and to calculate other aspects of their flight according to changing conditions. From the collection of Steve Kallis.
(3) A bombardier would have used this slide rule to calculate the chances of destroying his target under various conditions. Gift of David Martz.
(4) Harvard Project Physics circular slide rule could be slipped into a student's textbook. Gift of I. Bernard Cohen.
(5) This homemade version made by Charles Bachman helped the family compare the price of goods at the grocery before the days of unit pricing. Gift of Charles Bachman.

Umm, don't do it. You never know what kind of hazardous gases or chemicals are stuck down there, since from what I can see there is no existing ventilation or whatever in the hospital. Whatever poisonous gas (large amounts of CO, CO2, etc.)/chemicals is in there can mess with your mind and end up killing you. Seriously.

I thinks it's the whole element of surprise. You never know what you're going to find in these sorts of places, you know? They're dark, wet, and filled with all sorts of animals and bugs that are waiting to scare the hell out of you. Personally, I could never go into a place like that because the findings are so uncertain.
Plus, it helps the creepiness factor when these places have terrible pasts/records.
Also the fact people died there would up the creepiness if you believe in spirits and ghosts.

Hammer, yes. Crowbar, no. We have to keep in mind that security DOES float around there, and getting caught with a crowbar looks like we had a lot more intent of doing damage. Then again, so does a hammer, but hammers aren't as generally thought of as weapons.

So, I'm taking requests for things you'd want pictures of, things you want us to explore or look for. Use knowledge of modern hospitals, Google the hospital or just ask for random things and we'll see what we find. I'll fit in as many things as I can in 2 hours and see what else we find. Surgery tools and/or solitary confinement cells.

Definitely something we'll look for, though a lot was cleared out. I'm sure if we look hard enough we'll find something. As for confinement cells, some of the walls have been knocked out, I'm hoping not enough so there's literally no rooms left.

Aha, so it is.
Yep, thats what i get for having my screens brightness down...
When you going back to it then?
Back several years ago I went into an abandoned hospital with a few friends of mine that we have here that is eerily similar to the hospital you ventured into. It seemed as if one day the staff and patients were told that they'd be locking the doors tomorrow and what ever was left there would stay there. I don't have any of the pictures that we took anymore unfortunately.
The hospital was separated into two buildings connected by a series of underground tunnels. We went in through the center courtyard, squeezing our way through a block glass window. We came into a room filled with various desks and continued on into the tunnels. First we explored the building which had previously housed the kidney foundation. Over all, nothing too spooky other then a giant 50ft by 50ft room filled with a half foot layer of playing cards scattered across the entire floor.
After making our way to the top of that building causing mayhem along the way(sending a fire hose down the laundry chute, taking all the sharp utensils from the nurses station and tossing them into the ceiling and throwing a few file cabinets worth of giant floppy disks down the halls) we headed for the surgery observation theater. In it were hundreds of those chambers that they place newborns in as well as several operating tables and a giant, working industrial size scale. The entire room was very well lit from the windows all around it and covered in a slippery dark brown sludge so we decided not to stay very long.
Then we ventured into the connecting tunnels whichh were, like kwanza's, pitch black, luckily we had the foresight to bring along a few flashlights with us though they didn't do very much to pierce it. As we were walking with our flashlights ahead of us we turned a corner, there in front of us about 20 yards away was a woman standing nude with a really hideous facial disfigurement. After composing ourselves once we realized that it was a manikin with a halloween mask on we moved on to the incinerator.
Back when it was still a functioning hospital the incinerator was used to dispose of amputated body parts, other medical waste but worst of all unborn fetuses. The strangest part about that room was that it had christmas cards stuck to an old bulletin board and where the entire hospital was light jacket weather, that room was inexplicably warm.
Finally making our way to the second of the buildings we found the church, which connected to a large supply room with several boxes of unused, unopened syringes, surgical tubing and about 30 iv bags. After throwing a few of the iv bags at a wall, trying to pop them, which we were unable to do. We went to the nurses quarters where all of their lockers were. Each one was open but nearly all of them had things inside. Old phone books, jackets from the early 90's, shoes, tonnes of crap left behind.
On the fifth or so floor someone had burned a large pile of books which either burned a hole through the ceiling above it or fell through to the floor below. Most of these books were bibles. We made it up to the roof and stayed there for an hour or so, enjoying the view until we realized that the sun had begun to set.
As we made our way back down to the ground floor we came across the cafeteria, the floor of which was covered in coffee beans, then headed out through a door there.
A friend of mine got one of those heart shocking things, with the paddles, we all took a few signs and I took every key that I came across. I used them to try to open anything that was locked (I did manage to get a file cabinet open.) I still have them on my key ring to this day.

Instead of a crowbar, I highly recommend a Stanley Wonderbar (http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-55-515-12-inch-Wonderbar-Pry/dp/B00002X1XT).
My brother in law has one of these and it's pretty amazing what it can do for how small it is.
I'm pretty jealous also, there's not really any place to go around here that's good for urban exploration. The only places we've found while living here were an old abandoned house that was demolished shortly after moving here at around age 4, and an abandoned asphalt plant.
I should have taken advantage of when I lived up in Sacramento for a year, apparently there's plenty of abandoned buildings up there.

So, I'm taking requests for things you'd want pictures of, things you want us to explore or look for. Use knowledge of modern hospitals, Google the hospital or just ask for random things and we'll see what we find. I'll fit in as many things as I can in 2 hours and see what else we find. Do you have any idea where the left-behind blueprints are? Also, if you do find those, do you think they'd have left the key's to locked room's behind? If you can find the manager's or owner's room, odds are you'll end up finding both, which could save you alot of trouble.
I think you should also consider bringing ducky rainboots, incase it's wet, but get them in about 3 sizes bigger, and wear steel toe boots, extra protection + water coverage.
Wow does this remind anybody of like Bioshock like the part with the surgical bay?
This thread has some serious Silent Hill-ish material, if any of you played. The story with the mannequin only seems to irk me off more.

There's an old abandoned hospital around where I live. This guy that my family used to be friends with went up to explore it some time and as his stories of the exploration were told several years ago I dont remember much of it. The main thing I remember is that there's a door that no matter what would happen it would stay open. Like they'd go and shut it and turn around for about 10 minutes, then when they came bacl to it it'd be open again. This guy was pretty much surrounded by supernatural stuff. He lives in a house where someone died, so spending the night at his house was especially frightening. There were always really creepy sounds and random lights going out all at once and things falling for no reason... it was just really creepy.
But, as everyone's said, you got a lotta guts doin that. I'm definately waaaaaay too much of a 'fraidy-cat to do anything like that. Ghosts scare me.

List of stuff for next visit:
...
Spare batteries (Double A, spare charged video camera battery)
I advise you to try and get your hands on some dynamo flashlights. They have no batteries - you shake them or wind them up to recharge them. I work at a camping wholesale warehouse (shops buy stuff from us) and we distribute those to perhaps a third of our customers - maybe you'll find them in a sizeable camping store.
I find them more reliable than battery-powered flashlights. You will never run out of power so long as you have functional limbs, there is no fiddling with batteries (which can get lost), and you can keep the light on while you recharge them.

Or he could find a mag-lite and then he would have a weapon to bash hobos with and a flashlight, just remember to carry more D-cell batteries if you are going to bring one. Not that they run through batteries but you don't want it to crap out on you. They are also water resistant.

Kwanza, even with your masks, I would say if you find a room with ANY blood samples or blood splatter should be taking with caution. Those blood samples were taken for a reason, even if they are dried up. I would be very cautious, but if you take really great gloves (I may also recommend heavier suit, like a winter coat for the extra thickness) then you can take one. Although taking some guys blood sample from an abandoned creepy hospital and keeping it at home is a little strange.

Kwanza, I love doing this type of stuff, I'm jealous you're doing it! |This reminds me of this one time though.
With my two friends back in grade 8, we went into the forest near me house thats next to a highway. You know those tunnels that go under a highway for water flow and crap? Anyways, we decided to walk through it one night when it was pitch black. We only took a flashlight, and began walking through the tunnel. It was pretty normal, just water, rocks, mud, and the surrounding tunnel walls. I put the light against the wall to see if we could see anything, and after a little walk further in, there was something that looked like a small water balloon of red paint was thrown against the wall, but it looked like blood. SO it freaked us out a bit and we left the tunnel shortly after going home. The following day we went back when there was daylight. In front of the tunnel was mud and foot prints, but when we looked closer, we found wolf paw prints. That was scary enough knowing that there was a wolf in the woods somewhere, but the scarier thing was noticing what was next to the wolf prints. A babys hand print. There were three hand prints in the mud along side the wolf prints. We put two and two together and started freaking out, what if it wasn't red paint and it was the baby's head being cracked against the wall by the wolf?
I'm still freaked to this day to go near there.

Cool story, great photos. Is this the same hospital where they had their own incinerating room in the basement for the patients who died?
I heard there was an abandoned hospital around the same time as this one who were trying to treat a TB and Maleria outbreak. The patients that they couldnt save were literally dumped in a shoop from the above floors all the way to a basement boiler, then incinerated. They did that to make sure the disease couldnt spread any further. There were reports from staff that some of the patients were still barely alive when they were dumped.

Yeah Kwanza don't forget your runes and orbs of power in case you come into contact with a level 19 dark Warlock.
Chris please tell me you don't believe that shit?
Nah, I just watch a lot of supernatural on the CW. :)

Dammit, if one more person says this I'm going to gouge my eyes out. We get it, you're scared of old buildings.
Let the eye-gouging commence.

Wow, Kwanza, that's freaking awesome. I can't wait to find out what happens when you go back.
Also, I agree with whoever made the Silent Hill reference.. That's what I was thinking the entire time I was reading the story and viewing the pictures.
Good luck not finding any zombies, haha!

The more I look at it it looks like a monkey's face. Like someone was wearing a monkey mask. (Donny Darko anyone?)
I'd like to point out that this is very clearly Frankenberry.

Not to be the piss on your toast Kwanza, But you may have noticed people are getting a bit impatient to hear some updates with a bit more meat on them than telling us you might be going a week that passed away last month. Though thinking about there being mass graves.. T's rather disgusting how some people can be so heartless. Seems like you're all set for the next adventure with all the tips from here, so get going already!

All this blood on the wall? A blood trail leeding out of the broken window? Is it just me or was anybody else like WTF? Unless they cut somebodies organ out and decided to trow it at the wall, and then out of the window.
Anyway, good luck on your next trip.

Or what if they shot some one against a wall? Or some one was bleeding heavily and tried to climb out a window?

Or maybe (I know this is hard to accept), maybe, it's just paint! :eyespop:
Caryla

Noo, because if it's just paint then that implies that there's no deep dirty secret hidden away in the hospital.
And that just takes all of the fun out of it! ;)

It's not a monkey-ghost, if you look above it there's the same shit coming out of the wall, that one is just shaped odd.
