My Computer, it's broken.

As in, http://www.lakeland.cc.il.us/online/tutorials/flashdrive/images/mycomputer1.gif isn't working.

Whenever I click on it, I get screwed with a "Searching for files" animation involving a flashlight and such. Any idea why this might be happening, any idea how I can fix it?

Try this:

Right click on the desktop => go to properties => desktop tab => customize desktop => uncheck my computer => hit ok => recheck it => hit ok again

There is a backup of explorer at C:\WINDOWS\system_backup

copy explorer(.exe) to C:\WINDOWS\ directory and confirm the file overwrite. If this doesn't work, I 'll upload a working explorer for you.

I tried a second restart, and it seems to work fine for the moment. Im hoping it was just a one time thing. Er, rather a two time thing.
