Which are you favorites? Post links if possible, I wiped out my computer and lost it all (obviously).

I liked StumbeUpon (http://www.stumbleupon.com/demo/?review=1#url=https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&id=138) because I would always see crazy and awesome things.

VideoDownloader (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Other-Internet-Related/Firefox-VideoDownloader.shtml)
because of the fact I could get any video off of the internet and make it into a mp4.

I only use two:

Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865)
Just because I find ads annoying and I don't need them screaming "SAY SOMETHING" at me.

Macfox II (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=macfox&cat=14)
It's just a theme. I use it because I think it looks cool and I wish I had a mac. :frown:

Coloured tabs (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1368) because look how pretty! :shobon:

I don't know why I use Foxy Tunes (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/219). I think I installed it before I realised I could just use the itunes toolbar and never got rid of it.

Classic Compact (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3699) is a pretty basic theme, but it reduces button sizes and space between menus and stuff, and generally makes everything look much neater, as well as take up less space.

I use popupMaster. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1788)

It automatically blocks all popups and sets an icon in the taskbar that allows you to change when you want popups to appear and when you want them to be blocked.

I use Adblock Plus, Downloadthemall, Downloadhelper (this works great for saving youtube videos), and IETab. I use Firefox 3.0b4 at the moment. B5 is out but it's incompatible with Adblock Plus and I simply can't stand browsing the web without all the annoying ads and pop-ups being blocked.

I used to really like Mouse Gesture (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/39). And a couple of others. But no good Add-Ons are compatible with Firefox 3 beta 5 :frown:

Downgrade to Beta 4 then? Beta 5 is really only useful for developers, and the only real reason I use 3.0 is because 2.013 lags terribly.

Most of the add-ons I like don't work for anything 3 or up, but it's alot faster, so I guess they're worth giving up.

Theres one I'm searching for, I had it on my old computer but can't find it anymore. Essentially you change one colour to another on that website. I used it to change things to white text with a black background because my eyes hurt when I stare at white lights.

I also wanted to add HackBar, but I'm not really sure whether it's against the rules or not. Personally, I use all of the above extensions. I also use dictionaries (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3).

Firefox tweak: Here's a nice Firefox tweak for you if you have a broadband connection

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. You can set more but it's not recommended.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

I hope I helped.

I've already done the thing lostos is talking about, and it really makes a difference. Pages load a lot faster.

My addons:

Download Statusbar (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/26) - Keeps me downloads nice and organized in a bar at the bottom of the screen.

DownThemAll (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201) - Nifty download manager, boosts download speeds and allows for bulk downloading as well.

Mouse Gestures (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/39) - Once you learn some of them, it's really handy for quick web navigation.

NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722) - Blocks pretty much any malicious scripts and lots of ads on a website. I don't click the ads anyway, so they just clutter the page for me and this gets rid of a lot of them.

StumbleUpon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/138) - You tell it what your interests are, and it finds you a random website based on those. Very good cure for boredom.

PicLens (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5579) - Really, really awesome picture viewer. Especially great for viewing peoples' deviantART galleries, and I've heard it's awesome for Flickr as well and probably any other website that has a lot of images. I haven't tried with Google Images yet, but this is honestly the coolest addon I've ever installed.

My theme is OldFactory Black (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3941). It's really cool.

I can't believe no one has mentioned:

IE Tab (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419)

It is insanely useful, I never need to launch iexplorer.exe.

And someone already said but I will reiterate, FireBug (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843) That add-on is so amazing for web development, I use it at work almost every day. It even allows you to modify CSS on the fly, you can redesign an entire site without actually editing any files.

I REALLY reccomend AdBlock out of all these that have been said. It'll block pretty much all ads already, and if you do come across an ad image or a image you just don't like you can adblock it and it won't show up. It works wonders.

Before I go ahead and download mozilla firefox again. (Been using opera for a LONG while now) What version of Firefox is it up to (including betas) and whats the last stable version?

Also do these addons increase memory usage? Or decrease? Because there is some fucking cool stuff out there.

StumbleUpon-
Good for when you're bored, and trying to find good sites
Chatzilla-
a convenient IRC Client
Imageshack Toolbar-
So I can upload pics easily
Cyanide and Happiness-
The add-on some kid posted on here once, today's comic pops up whenever I open Firefox. A little annoying when ads pop up because then I have to close two windows, but convenient otherwise. You can't get it anymore.
Tamper Data-
You can view and modify HTTP/HTTPS headers, it's good for certain things.

Extended statusbar is a very small (few KB) extension that shows some useful information.

Imagezoom does what is says

and I couldn't live without Tab Mix Plus. I can mouse over tabs to switch to them, and a thousand other features.

The latest stable build is Firefox 2.0.0.13. There is a beta release of Firefox 3, version 3.0b5.

I would guess that making your browser do more stuff would make it use more memory. :indiff:

I use Accessibar because when I get tired, I find it hard to read light pages, so I can change the font colour and background colour and tons of other settings.
I use AdBlock Plus and the Filterset updater, as well as ScriptBlock for added protection.
IETab
Greasemonkey for a game I play, I can make navigation much easier using Greasemonkey scripts.
LongTitles so that long alt text appears over a couple of lines when I hover over it instead of placing an ellipsis when it overfills Firefox's limit. Useful for certain webcomics.

I use:

FoxyTunes (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/219) - Much more convenient to just hit skip/pause/stop etc. at the bottom of the browser I already have open, rather than constantly switching back and forth from Firefox and Windows Media Player.

Scribblies Plain (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/695) - This theme makes me smile. It's quite random and silly.

Colorful Tabs (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1368) - Thanks to Aoife, earlier in this post, I added it. It's so pretty!

Temporary Inbox (http://https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2650) - Supplies emails for you to use, mainly for registering sites that need you to confirm registation without giving out your actual email

NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722) Allows you to choose what script you want a page to load, increases safety and allows a more pleasant environment.

Mouse Gestures (http://https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/39) For added awsome.

Then just an English and German dictionary.

Tiny Menu is REALLY useful, and Smart Bookmarks Bar.
Stylish is also really great for modifying annoying styles (i use it to make most sites white text on black back, mainly ones with alot of text, such as say, Wikipedia, much easier to read)
NoScript is a must for everyone. Get it if you haven't!

I had some more installed on my Laptop.
I was going to copy them over a couple days back, but i forgot to.
They were just a few things (one of them translated text to all sorts of things, binary, hex, leet, ROTx and so on)

I'm also still using 1.5. I despise the changes in FF2, and i'm waiting to see what happens with 3 before i consider switching.

Eh, it can be rather annoying for stuff like that.
I think there is an option to keep Flash enabled, but just kill of other scripting (actually, you can select what scripts you want to disable now)

It needs to be more dynamic! If it was dynamic, it would pretty much be the best thing since the web.
Refreshing a page to allow scripts just doesn't cut it guys.
Maybe a future version, who knows.

One thing that is also very annoying is the amount of sites i have come across that NEED Javascript to align their styles, talk about lazy, HTML/CSS isn't that hard... is it?

Beefynick
04-13-2008, 9:01 AM
I have noscript installed, and use it rarely. When I go to sites I visit often or trust, I have it disabled (which is most of the time), but when I just go surfing on the internet I enable it. It is ok, but I would not suggest it. If I want to see flash on a site I just temporarily allow it. It is not horribly annoying, it is just not needed most of the time.

FlamingPeanuts

I use NoScript allot of the time, its only a fraction of a second to allow a trusted site the use of script realy. It has helped me enough for it to deserve that time.
