The first one is good. It's easier than looking through the spotlight thing or through the dock. You just make a circle on the screen anywhere and it will pop up. You can set the sensitivity in the preferences. When the circle pops up, to get to the preferences, the button is right at the bottom. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have all the programs in the circle. It puts in the programs you use most I think

The second one makes little tabs on the side. It helps when you have a lot of windows open. You just drag the window over to the side of your screen and it'll turn into a tab.

So wait what does it do?

It makes it easier to find stuff. Like when you make the circle with your mouse, some of the programs you mostly use pop up. It's easier to go to it. I guess

I would like to know if anyone has a better picture viewer than the default. I hate the default >:(

To find programs I use Quicksilver (Google it, it isn't hard to find). The program stays open in the background and you hit ctrl-space to bring up a little window. You start typing the name of the program or file, hit tab, and you can type in an action or choose from a list. So not only can you open or close programs, but you can actually do things in certain programs (like send an email to someone from your address book).

Here, http://macspecialist.org/content/articles/essential_apps/

Includes links for, amongst others, Audio Hijack (record ANY sound played on your Mac), MacTheRipper ("back" DVD's up) and so forth.

EDIT:

Oh, I didn't see this on the list above. A must have if you want to download YouTube video's onto your system, and directly into iTunes.
