(Smell + mail, lame joke I know) Well just when I thought prank calling couldn't get any better they go and make something like this! (http://www.ntt.com/release_e/news08/0004/0407.html) Can you imagine sending someone a fart over the phone, and having them smell it?!

Alright so this thing comes with a fragrance emitter so you can smell what your calling partner is sending, and a list of selectable scents are freely available on their official website.

Seems a bit complicated, and kind of unnecessary, I mean who needs to smell shit that the other person they are talking to smells? Well it is pretty interesting at least. Next thing you know we will have phones that allow you to taste what your friend sends.

actually there was a prototype of a device that could supposedly send smells trough internet, I remember watching about the device on a computers/technology Tvshow the name of the device was " iSmell" by DigiScents the thing turned on vaporware anyways:

I do not see how this will benefit anybody other than the aforementioned fart transmitting.

Why does it need to benefit anyone beyond fart sending?

Also, sex hot lines could get a lot more disgusting using this.
