View Full Version : NMI: Parity Check/ Memory Parity Error - How I Want To Rub My Cock On Dell.

So, my laptop is getting the good old Blue Screen of Death. This has been going on for some time now, usually just restarting it is fine. However, it has happened twice today, and quite frankly it's beginning to annoy me severely. I've looked all over and I haven't found a fix that can fix mine for certain.

So, any suggestions as to what I should do? Do I want to send it in (along with the battery adapter, thats damaged.) or should I wait for a fix online?

Moved to the Help Forum. But since you have a battery adapter that is already damaged just send it in and have Dell deal with the hassle.

Anything in particular that causes it to crash? You could try repairing the OS if you have a boot-cd. It is most likely that the problem lies in dodgy memory though, so Dell will be needed to fix it, if your under warranty.

I would send the laptop in along with the battery adapter. A parity error is usually a sign of something wrong with the hardware. It could be that the RAM is bad or it could be that the motherboard is bad. The error is pretty vague but most of the time involved bad hardware. You could try buying a new stick of RAM and putting that in there, but I would just send it in. Maybe the faulty power adapter caused the parity error by allowing too much voltage to the system.

Maybe. Im gonna give it another few days, then gonna talk to some tech people maybe. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess its really only common with Dells.

Don't think so, I think I've heard of it on other computers and neither of our two Dells have had it. Dells really aren't anywhere near as people make them out to be.

I have an E-machine and when i first got it, it would go blue screen sometimes, Even before I got internet on it, but as soon as I got internet it hasn't done it since.........
