My computer won't let me use the Internet

Whenever I open IE or Firefox on my computer, every page has the "Cannot be Displayed" thing, but I can still use the Internet if I go into My Documents and type the webpage into the address bar from there. Why can't I use the Internet normally?

I'm getting (Sorta) the same thing. I can't use IE or windows explorer (Which you're using) but firefox is working perfectly. I think mines from a shift from wired to wireless internet, or some other hardware change that involves the internet. You do anything similar lately?

hmn. If you're a windows user, you prob got some sort of virus or windows did some random configuration. Have you tried reinstalling firefox? if it doesn't work, maybe formatting and reinstalling windows is in order.

It's hitting both Firefox and IE, so I don't think reinstalling Firefox would work. I don't even use it much anyway. I haven't switched from wired to wireless recently, and the problem only started after I reformatted my hard drive.

You can try this Dauntasa. Start > Run > CMD, in the window that pops up type in "ipconfig /release" and hit enter, once that is done type in "ipconfig /renew"

If that doesn't work try using WinsockFix (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/WinSockFix-Download-15337.html), unzip and run it.
