Ok so I have this phone - A718 (aka Hurbo the chinaphone)
and being chinese I have no earbuds that plug into it

What I'm trying to do is set up A2DP from the phone (which it supports) to my laptop (which also supports it) to see if i can set it up before buying a 3.5mm bluetooth recevier

I managed to get the devices paired, and even activated the a2dp bluetooth profile, but when I go into the audio player program settings bluetooth forwarding is still off. Once i switch forwarding on it asks me to select a headset to forward to and does a bluetooth search - always revealing nothing no matter what I have nearby.

I know the bluetooth works as I have done file transfers and been able to set my laptop speakers as the handsfree headset for during a call but just not for music.

I also have a theory that the only reason why it won't work is because the A2DP receiver is a laptop, and it's searching for headsets. But I need someone to back me up on that.

It might be the laptop; but that is because your laptop while it supports audio transfer, it may not be configured correctly. I have had both a Nokia 6103 and a Blackberry 8320 connect to my laptop through A2DP, but only through Linux (I could never get it working on Windows).

So yes, it is probably will not connect because of your laptop, but it is most likely because it is not configured correctly.

And if I was to get the official bluetooth receiver it'd probably work?

Mkay nevermind here, I went ahead and bought it anyway.

But I'll still report back for whether or not it works
