Which, in your opinion, deals with criminals and legal issues more fairly, the Code of Hammurabi, or the U.S. Bill of Rights?
Why?
I think that Hammurabi's codes better dealt with criminals because his laws were more thorough, whereas the Bill of Rights only broadly covers certain legal issues.

Now i personally like hammurabis code cause of its strictness. you cut someones hand off, we cut yours off. I just love that cause who would want to do crimes then? BUt as always theres the other side. As Ghandi oncesaid "An eye for an Eye makes everyone blind" But i think hammarubis code really dealt with criminals in a way that probably no doubt scared criminals pissles

Terrible thread. Explain what the Code of Hammurabi is for those of us who don't readily know the term.
If it's what I think it is, that "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" thing, how is that even COMPARABLE with the Bill of Rights? They have nothing to do with one another, and aren't even concerned with the same thing. The Code of Hammurabi is about punishing criminals, the Bill of Rights is about our basic undeniable rights as human beings!
WTF?
