Right, so I have a webcam plugged into my laptop. I use Vista and since I downloaded the service pack 1 the mike hasnt been working. Camera itself works, just I can't transmit sound. Now, has this got anything to do with my soundcard, or is it just my webcam.
Here is a pic of what is bugging me:

Can anyone help me out here? I need to have audio to have webcam sex with my girlfriend. I'm seriously in need.

Crack out the driver disc and try re-installing it?

is it purely a usb plug and play webcam? IF not just re-install the drivers. or look on the manufactures website see if they have a solution to the problem. If you can't find a way, then wipe you hard drive many times over, to get rid of vista. and install XP.

It is a plug and play webcam, and I don't really want to downgrade....
I'm thinking of trying a new mike, will get back to ya. Thanks for the responses.

downgrading? well trechinaccly yes but in theory no. i can do way more stuff on XP than on vista. and for one it dosent muck up. will upgrade when all the bugs are fixed.
so its just a webcam? and then you have a separate mic?

No, the webcam has a built in mike. Like I said, after I got service pack 1 it screwed up (msn said there wasn't a sound card?) weird stuff.

Windows always find a way to miss out a certain driver from there update. report it and should be fixed eventually.

Try uninstalling the Webcam, Upgrading back to SP1, then installing it again. Y' never know!

Also check out if there are any drivers for your webcam. I know when I upgraded to Vista my Microsoft Lifecam 1.0 didn't work, because I had to download the Vista compatible 1.4 driver.
