Statutory rape is simply when two people have sex and one (or both) people are under the age of sexual consent.

In the case that both people were under 16 the male tends to be the one who is prosecuted, however these sort of issues are usually taken to court if the lass becomes pregnant. Mainly because its blatant evidence if she's pregnant and also people don't really care, unless such consequences arise.
