I'm making a bit of music and since MySpace is full of friend whores and most real life friends are pretty much ass-kissers, I thought this might be the right place to gather some good critique and opinions.

It's real trashy kind of electro/techno stuff, so I don't think many of you will actually like it but you never know, so give it a try.

I also made this stuff:

It's not that bad, but I wouldn't tell anyone I listen to it.

And by it's not bad, I mean there's LOADS more you can find that is better than this.

Yeah okay.

I also figured that you really have to be into this kinda weird trashy stuff to really enjoy it.

If you think it's trashy, why post it in a thread? Also, I think some it's original anyway.

EDIT - Surely Daft Punk is one of your influences?

I think she meant trashy in a good way, not like it sucks.

Run in the Park was snazzy.

I don't really like techno because to me every song sounds pretty much the same, but each of your songs sounded different and interesting. I liked it.

Not trashy enough and not enough going on.
I'm not sure if you're going for Noise Core or what. I dunno.

It's all so repetitive. Keeping a good beat going and adding more sounds slowly is a pretty played out way of creating a good song. Your stuff takes too long to get going and even when they do there's still not much going on (like Gilligan said). Try speeding some of it up a bit so people (like me) don't get bored before it gets catchy.

I understand what you were going for, and you pulled most of it off, I just think your timing for adding things is a little off. You have to be aware of when people will expect a symbol or something to come in and when it's appropriate for one to come in. Predictability is probably going to be your best friend until you can come up with some more complex beats. Once you can nail a simple, catchy tune you can move onto some wicked shit.

Great, thanks. Some good opinions, I will think about the things you guys said.

Pyro, I didn't ment it to be trashy in that way. Well, Daft Punk is sure one influence, but not a big one.
I think my biggest influences are Les Petits Pilous, Mr Oizo and Boys Noize.

Derelict, I think you pretty much nailed it and your comment will help me for productions in the future but I can't say that it applys to all the songs in the player.
I think you are mostly referring to 'Olivia' (wich is only a Demo) and maybe 'Stuck 81'? Don't know, helped me anyway.

And Gilligan, I wasn't going for Noise Core. I was going for something new and crazy you can play in a club for all the wasted kids to dance and spill their drinks to.

Well, you accomplished one of your goals there. I can totally imagine a bunch of Eurotrash kids getting stoned and dancing to this.

Even thats not quite to my taste though, it seems repetitive and slow without enough variety.

Not at all, I think it could be perfect club music.

I like the minimalism of some of this stuff, but like derelict said it needs to go somewhere. You could keep these tracks structured the same way but there just needs to be more timbral variation.

Okay, thanks. Didn't get it right away.

Some of this kind of reminds me of a German Electro duo called Digitalism. I listened to a lot of the songs on your myspace, but I would have liked to have heard more lyrics. Not necessarily lyrics dominating the music, but something to break up the monotony.

Yes, I am definitely going to add more vocals in my future works. That was my plan anyway. I totaly agree.

And Digitalism are very good. Going to see them live in August! :boogie:

Over all I'd say pretty good. Can get a little repetitive and Drag on, i had to check back every once in a while on the player to see if it was the next song or not but overall i must admit I'm kinda liking it.
