I recently got into watching this show, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. A quick synopsis for those who haven't seen/heard of it, before getting down to business: The story focuses around the main character, Jarod (Michael T. Weiss), who is a pretender, or an extremely intelligent person who is able to quickly learn to be anyone he/she wants to be (doctor, fireman, FBI agent, et cetera). Jarod is taken from his family at a very young age by a secret organization called "The Centre", in order for them to exploit Jarod's gift for their own purposes. Jarod escapes, however, and uses his ability to help those in need, while simultaneously eluding operatives from The Centre and attempting to reunite with his lost family.

So far I've seen all of season one, and I'm about three episodes shy of finishing season two. I was hooked right after watching the pilot episode, in which Jarod reveals a cover-up made by a doctor whose malpractice caused a little boy to become paralyzed. The show is very well written, and although it is a bit formulaic most of the time, I can't help help but smile when Jarod brings the bad guys to justice through his clever set-ups. I'm sad to learn that the story is incomplete though; it only spanned four seasons before being discontinued. I've heard rumors about a final Pretender movie being made to wrap up the series, but I have no real proof of this. If anyone could shed some light on it, that would be awesome.

So has anyone else seen this show? I'd love to discuss some of the episodes, so long as proper spoiler tags are used where needed. Please, if you're going to discuss a specific episode, say which and then use spoiler tags, I don't want anything revealed to me that I haven't seen.

I was browsing these forums because I heard people were making fun of Tim Buckley, and wanted a good laugh. Then I saw this!

Yeah, I loved the Pretender. I watched it when it was being shown weekly on TNT, and I've seen nearly all the episodes; If you're just getting to the end of season two, there are a lot of amazing plot twists left.

Although I doubt I'll ever be coming back to these forums, I can help you out with your questions about the final movie that was made, or in fact, the final two movies that were made. TNT ended up with the rights to the show (Either they started with it, or bought the rights after no one else wanted them) and in an attempt to "wrap up" the story, actually made two 2 hour-long movies which took place after the series. I'm not sure if those are available for purchase anywhere like the individual seasons would be, or where to find them, but they have to exist... somewhere. I don't want to give anything away, but I did enjoy them. As far as wrapping things up goes, you'll have to watch them to see for yourself! (That and I don't remember everything that happened because it was about 5-6 years ago.)

Enjoy! It's a really good show.
