Sound Lag Problems

Im running vista and whenever there is sound, the sound will frequently lag and sound like it's being played in slow motion. It's getting on my last fucking nerve and Im going to throw the monitor soon in a blind rage.

Just curious if anyone knows of this problem and/or how it can be fixed. Thanks.

This sounds like it is a sound card problem or a memory problem. Does the entire computer lag or just the sound?

I would have thought that it is a driver or resource issue. If you're stuck on RAM then it wont work very well, and if you're running at full CPU power then your sound will be de-prioritised so that core processes can go through. We'd need more infor for an accurate diagnosis.

No, I have 2GB RAM and 2.4GHz Quad Core Processors. I don't know anything about the sound card. It lags even when the computer isn't working hard, like right now.

So the problem is with the sound card and not memory. Go into device manager and see what type of sound card you have and list it here. Once we know what card you have it will make it easier to help.

Vista will actually perform badly if you have not activated it yet, have you done that?
