What's the best way to listen to your iPod?

I've been looking at a few things including the speaker systems made for iPods (particularly the Griffin Evolve (http://reviews.cnet.com/speakers-speaker-systems/griffin-evolve/4505-6467_7-32687384.html). I can't seem to find a good way to get that to Canada though).
There's also this sale at Future Shop with up to like 50-60% off of home theatre systems which are also a possibility.

My question is which route should i go for to get a good sounding system that will easily support my iPod classic? Music is my main priority, I might plug whatever I get into my laptop for movies occasionally if it can do that, but that's not at all imperative. I'm on a budget as well so I'm looking at a $500 maximum.

Plug in a pair of headphones, insert said earphones into your ears and press the little button that makes the music play.

Ox, I have headphones. I'd rather not use headphones most of the time.
