I was trying to start playing Diablo II again, and I can't connect through my router (Netgear WGR614v6). Blizzard support tells me I have to do some port forwarding, and directs me here (http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/WGR614v6/DiabloII.htm). I follow the directions, and set up a static IP, set exceptions on the firewall, etc. The problem is, I can't set 0 for the third number, or it'll come up with something saying the "Server IP address must be a LAN IP address."
Other games/internet works fine without it, it's just D2.
So, is there a way to get around using 0, or using port forwarding altogether, or will I have to try a different router?

Can't set zero for the 3rd number of what, exactly?
Screen shots will help massively here. When i port forwarded for uTorrent, it was pretty fuckin' confusing.

My guess is that you cannot use a zero for the third point on the IP address because that does not apply to your computer. A screenshot of your IP address (using IP config) would be helpful as well.

You can try this site (http://portforward.com/routers.htm) if you haven't already.

Where it says to use a 0 try using a 1. If that does not work you will need to add a 1 in the box after it.
That should fix your problem.

Tried the first, got the same problems I had with no port forwarding. Not sure what you meant by the second, but I tried 192.168.1.1, and that gave me "Server IP cannot be the same as the router IP."

That was my fault. I read the wrong line in the ipconfig screen shot. Try putting in 192.168.1.55 (which is the IP of your computer).
This is assuming you have a static IP address though.

That's what I did first, neither that nor .1.1 worked. I do have a static IP and I set it up outside the DHCP bounds.
canyouseeme.org says the connections to the ports were refused, if that helps any.

Got it fixed, it had to do with sharing internet. Thanks for the help,
