I recently purchased Age of Conan, which you may or may not know, has a huge space requirment. Right now I have it on an external drive, but it is of course going to be slower on it.

Can I move most everything out of my C drive onto the external to make space for AoC, and if so, is there anything special to do it.

Yes. But just put your Multimedia on there. Music etc.

There is no special way of doing it, just plug in the drive, and copy and paste. :)

Move whatever files you want, just so long as they don't have anything to do with a program and you know what it is you're moving (just so you don't screw something up, for example).

It's like CrashFace said, there's nothing really you have to do. Some HDs might come with special software, but most don't.
Just don't put programs or valuable files on an external HD though. Programs run slow and external HDs have a low life-expectancy (meaning you lose those valuable files).

There's also a thread, External Hard Drives? (http://forums.explosm.net/showthread.php?t=30245) in the Tech Convention forum. It might have a bit of useful information.
