My problem with this song is that there's no real structure to it. Your friend was right, it's just a bunch of riffs thrown together. It's more of a jam than a composition. And your backing track is just plain annoying. Especially 1:32-1:52, the guitar and the track clash horribly. From what I gather you're a fairly talented guitar player, and I'm not trying to take away from that, but I think as far as composing a song goes you need a bit more practice. Overall, you've got potential but I can't say I liked this particular song.

Alright. Thanks for the feedback. And btw what I was saying was before they were just bunch of cool guitar riffs that had no meaning, i'll admit they used to be thrown together a little better but didn't mean anything. This was just a test, to see what I could do when I put emotion into my music (which I should have been doing long ago :\).

Just remember that the purpose of putting emotion into music is to get emotion out of music. Like I said, you've got potential, just keep it up.

not bad bro. I agree with couch, the structure really isnt there, not even in a progressive structure where A/B/A/B doesnt exist. The guitar work is pretty decent, you've still got some practicing to do but your technique is down good, you actually have a natural sense of rhythm from what i can gather and those two attributes are two things you're very lucky to have, and already have a good couple of steps ahead of people at your level.

Keep practicing though. You have lots of promise. All in all, VERY good job.
