O.K so I have a couple of random Ipod problems:

1) No matter what happens, no matter what I do, my headphones(earphones, whatever. The default ones that come with the Ipod) always break. I probably got 3 or 4 new pairs of headphones for each Ipod I had so far, and in the end they always break. Not broken like smashed, but the right earphone always stops playing music, while the left one is just fine. Usually it starts out few and far between, but eventually it completely goes out. I don't know why. I heard that I should stop wrapping it around my Ipod when I'm not using it to stop the twisting motion, but I see everybody else do it and it's just fine Hell, the brand new Ipod earphones that I just got last week is already starting to break, and I haven't been turning it, playing with it, etc. It's not really a full technical question, but it's annoying as hell.

2) Some of my purchases (of videos) don't appear on my Ipod. I e-mailed apple about it but they never emailed me back. This happened on my first Ipod, but when I got my second all of those videos appeared right away. Then I bought some more, and they went on my Ipod just fine. But after reconnecting it some time later, the videos just disappeared. They are still on my Itunes, but a lot of the videos that I purchased don't appear on my Ipod.

Any way any help?

The headphones are low-quality, so you need to be very gentle with them. Try not to tug on them, remove them carefully from your ears and if you'r not using them, wrap them round something so they don't tangle. This won't guarantee they work forever - they're probably designed to break easilly - but it will mean they last a good deal longer.

Also, be weary of how loud you blast your music and how often. It's not hard to blow out a cheap pair of headphones.

As for your videos, if your iPod randomly deletes your videos then you should take it into an Apple store and ask one of the employees at the Genius Bar about Hard Drive issues and explain your problem to them. If it turns out that it is a Hard Drive issue, you won't be able to do anything about it. They may replace it for you if you're still under warranty, though.

Buy a nice pair of headphones, like, make an investment in maybe a nice 50-80 dollar pair.
That way you'll have nice sound (or maybe you'll hear the crappy quality of MP3's) and they won't break as easily.

As for Ipod downloads, I really have no idea.

I've gone through 3 different iPod Video ear buds, but that's because I mess with them and they tear. I have some crappy knock off ones now and they're horrible. But the iPod earbuds usually last a while, maybe you're just rough with them.

I'm not sure about the video problem.

People are addressing the headphones, so I'll try to assess the video problem.
Possibility 1: You need a newer quicktime player version.
2: You used to be on a pc and now your a mac(this happened to me) you will need to erase all the content on your iPod and start it over on the Mac.
3: Your space is maxed out and can't handle any more large video files.
Hope it helps.

I bought a pair of Exibel earbuds, been using them for a year now without any problems, even though I've dropped my player a few times and it didn't reach the floor because of the cord. They're pretty ugly, but small and those that go inside your ear-type so nobody sees them. Music playback is amazing, even bass, sound insulation is great too. They cost me like 12 euros.

Oddly, I've been through 4 iPods and still have the same set of earphones, and they've fallen appart, been stood on and have a massive crack in them!

I've had a pair of $15 Sony headphones for the past 4 years, and they've been through their fair share of shit. Hell, they went through the wash in my pants pocket once a couple years ago, and they're just starting to go now! On mine, the problem seems to be with the connection jack as opposed to the actual speaker part (the sound in one ear sometimes cuts out when I nudge the connector).
