I just ordered my Xbox Pro online, because they are sold out within 500 miles of me. I'm already looking at games, so I know what I want and don't want; I'm good on that. I just sold my PS2 and games for $200, and I'm going to spend some on accessories. What are ones you would recommend? Price isn't an issue, but I don't want that wireless thing because that seems stupid.

Don't post in here telling me to get a PS3. Fuck that. And, I didn't see a thread in the search, even though it seems we did have one on this.

None.
Except maybe the controller charger if you don't like buying batteries.

Yeah I'm finally buying a Play and Charge Kit (actually it ended up being my first purchase on Prize Rebel) because eventually, buying batteries gets annoying. If you got a wireless controller you can play games on your PC with it if you buy a this (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/default.htm) wireless receiver. I wish I had known about it before I bought a wired controller.

Otherwise you pretty much have what you need all in the box. If you're gonna play on Live, the headset should come in the box.

I never buy batteries so I'll end up getting that.

Just wondering, does the Pro come with a game?

Not unless it specified it did.

Even though you said you didn't want a wireless headset I would personally suggest getting one. I went through maybe 30 wired mics. Then I got a wireless one and it works great hasn't broken and it's got a 90 day warranty.

It comes with about 20 arcade game demos on it. Like Pacman and Frogger and Joust n stuff. That really surprised me when I got mine, cos I didn't expect to be doing anything with it for about another week.

Demos though, so you play it for about 10 minutes, then it starts again.

Wireless internet adaptor is the way forward, if you have wireless internet that is.

But where I'm going to put my 360, the internet connection is a foot away from it. I don't really need wireless because I'm not going to suspend it in midair or have it in a weird location. Unless there's another reason wireless would help me.

Nawh, no real use for you to use it then. Not alot of people have routers close to their 360s.

I had to drill a hole in my bedroom floor. No big deal, it's under my wardrobe.

I think wireless causes you to like- lose some of your internet.
Into the atmosphere.
I'm such an idiot.

I just got the Adapter. Too lazy to drill holes. (Though the router is not far at all.) It used to to disconnect me often, but after telling it to connect back a few times and moving the router out in the open, it doesn't do it anymore. So it's kind of a good investment, if the price wasn't so large. And hey! If you're internet is out, you could always connect to your neighbors.

It's also 100 dollars.

Yeah, the price got me, so I just purchased a cheaper "Buffalo AirStation" at around £25, so $50. If you want, I'll get a link to show you. Works just as well, the only downside is it being a hell of a lot bigger than the microsoft one, and thus, alot more painful on the eye, and needing an extra plug.

The only thing I'd advise are the headset and some microsoft points. I personally have a wired one, and its only ever gotten in the way once, when the wire got stuck under the analog stick.

And Microsoft points incase you want some stuff that costs money (Maps, themes, videos etc).

So Microsoft Points and the equivalent of Wii Points? How much do things on the market usually cost? I'll probably end up with the 5000 point one.

Games usually go for 400-1200 points. Themes are around 120 and Pic packs are 80 or so.

The one I bought for my PS2 back in the day I still use is the Netgear gaming adapter. I hate Netgear, but this is one of their products that hasn't fucked up for me yet. Knock on wood :frown:

I'll probably start off with the 12 month XBL and some cheap MSP's.

The XBL code; you just put it in and you have internet for a year? I'm getting Gold. I know it comes with a free month too.

Well you have to have a msn account or make one. Then you just pick a gamer tag out and all the rest of the normal stuff. Just so you know the 80 Microsoft points =1$

dont get the camera, no one i know ever uses theirs and its just a big waste of money. I have an intercooler on the back of mine to prevent from getting the ring of death again, but some people think the intercooler just makes it worse. anyone think an intercooler is a bad idea?

Um..Okay.

They fixed the Intercooler's problem. I don't have any accessories right now, but I'm probably just getting the Charge and Play kit. Nothing else comes to mind that I need.
