These are little samples and pieces of songs I've made in the past month or two.

Just listened to them.
Very impressed (Y)
:)
Favourites are... Electro, Rawr, Piano/Guitar test and Marios Antidepressants

(pardon my spelling)

Do you record these yourself or mix them?

I play, record, and mix them myself.

Wow, very impressing. I liked how each song was a differently style. I personally loved the style to Hearts. Do you mix the drums with a computer or are they recorded live?

I do like this overall. I'm curious as to what your recording method is exactly (software(s)/microphone(s)/amp(s)/instrument model(s) etc). Crits as follows:

Piano/Guitar thing:
Not much to say about this really. I thought the piano sound was a bit too brittle and the guitar was too top-end heavy. Good composition though.

Hearts:
I noticed what sounds like a bit of air noise in the guitar recording. It gives a nice character to the sound imo but I'm into noisy crap.

Arid:
Hrrrmmm. I'd ease off the reverb on the hand drums and maybe shorten the decay too to make it sound less washy.

Electro thing:
The drums are too busy for my liking. Some of the synths seem a bit cheesy and simple.

Rawr:
Hrmm. I like the industrial vibe but I don't think the transition into the almost new-wave guitar riff is sound.

Mario drugfuck:
Didn't load for me. Oh well.

Most of them I play on my handy dandy electric drum set, then I clip it out and loop it. Some things (like the beginning of RAWR) have programmed drum sets that I made myself.

Thank you. I'm not quite sure what you mean by top heavy considering all the guitar is EQ'd to mostly middle and high frequencies.

Hearts:

Thank you. I could filter it out with a gate at the beginning, but this is kind of an older version compared to the version I have of this song so far. The his is mostly feedback from my fan in my room since it gets so fucking hot in my apartment/studio thingy.

Arid:
Hrrrmmm. I'd ease off the reverb on the hand drums and maybe shorten the decay too to make it sound less washy.

I personally love the reverby sound since it's supposed to sound a little more ethnic.

Electro thing:

I love the tech-drums. And the synth is cheesey because the music genre of "electro" is cheesey, and bleepy.

Rawr:
Hrmm. I like the industrial vibe but I don't think the transition into the almost new-wave guitar riff is sound.

This isn't exactly a song. It needs a transition to tie them together, but they are tests and experiments. It's not quite supposed to be together.

Try again. It works for me.

It was pretty coo'. Kinda reminded me of Danny Elfman for some crazy reason. Inspiration?

Not really but I can definitely hear how it sounds like him.

Piano/Guitar test: I loved this. I don't like many piano melodies, but this "style" I guess is one I love.

Hearts: I personally hate this genre of acoustic guitar playing, but it was still good nonetheless.

Arid: That was unexpected :P I really like it

Electro Experiment: That was pretty intense haha. What did you use to make this? I've always wanted to make techno but I don't know where to start :\

Rawr: That was also intense :P and also very unique. Also sounds like you were using a digitech pedal? I can get a really similar distortion out of mine

Mario's AntiDepressants: I didn't get much out of this one. Idk, it just didn't hit it for me.

Those were really good, you should show us the full songs :P

Mario's AntiDepressants is epic I love how you put the sounds off the game in it. :gj:

Do you have any tabs for any of the compositions?
I especially liked "Arid."

I'm really addicted at Piano/guitar test, i really like it when the drums start playing. Kinda of a climax.

The classical composition is great. I can really hear the Elfman that Shmuh was referencing. Something about the bass in it, it's on a different beat than the treble sounds. I want to say it's on the downbeat, but I'm not sure I'm using the correct terminology. It's been a while. But I did like it, reminds me of all the Elfman scores I did in band class.

I would use more suspended chords on Piano/Guitar Test, also, a major minor key change would've sounded really good around :30-:40 Otherwise, both instruments went together nicely, but the drums were too poppy.

I absolutely love Hearts, please write a longer version of it. Add a trumpet solo.

Arid is pretty kickass, but I have to agree with Exetra about the reverb.

The drums on Electro Experiment are too much. Too much gain, they become more of an annoyance than anything after a while. The melodies also were somewhat weak, but they went nicely, otherwise.

I didn't like Rawr.

Mario's AntiDepressants is pretty ingenious, but the pause was too abrupt.
